[Termes IGN] résolution d'ambiguïtéRésumé : (auteur) Integer ambiguity resolution-enabled precise point positioning (PPP), otherwise known as PPP real-time kinematic (PPP-RTK), recovers the integer nature of ambiguities at a user receiver by delivering the satellite phase biases (SPBs) estimated from a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) network. Due to the rank-deficiency existing between the satellite and receiver phase biases and the ambiguities, the formulation of PPP-RTK model needs to choose a set of unknown parameters as the datum (or the S-basis). Despite the fact that there are non-unique datum choices, one prefers a PPP-RTK model where the estimable SPBs contain a minimum number of datum ambiguities. We will show that otherwise there will be discontinuities occurring in datum ambiguities that will lead to unfavorable jumps in the estimated SPBs and frequent ambiguity resolution (re-)initialization on the user side. For this to occur one normally restricts to a common-view (CV) network, where the satellites are commonly visible to all receivers involved, and constructs the PPP-RTK model by choosing the phase biases and the ambiguities, pertaining to one receiver, as the datum. In doing so the CV model is capable of estimating the SPBs with each bias containing only one datum ambiguity. In this contribution we extend the CV model to an all-in-view (AV) network case where the satellites tracked can differ across receivers, but at least one satellite is commonly visible; this is practical as the network size is normally consisting of baseline lengths of several hundreds of kilometers. Contrary to the CV model, in the AV model the phase biases and the ambiguities pertaining to one satellite is selected as the datum, such that, the number of datum ambiguities entering into the estimable SPBs is always at the minimum as the SPBs are formulated in a between-satellite single-differenced form. The benefits with AV model are that it relieves the stringent satellite visibility as required by the CV model and, at the same time, reduces to the best possible extent any jumps in the estimated SPBs as well as the necessary ambiguity resolution (re-)initialization on the user side. Experiments conducted using multi-GNSS data collected in both CV and AV networks verify that the AV model always outperforms the CV one, as measured by both the time-to-first-fix as well as the positioning accuracy when compared to very precise benchmark coordinates. [Termes IGN] traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) The best integer equivariant (BIE) estimator for the multivariate t-distribution was introduced in Teunissen (J Geod, 2020. https://doi.org/10.1007/s00190-020-01407-2), where it was shown that the BIE-weights will be different from that of the normal distribution. In this contribution, we analyze these BIE estimators while making use of multi global navigation satellite system (GNSS) data. The BIE-estimators are also compared to their least-squares (LS) and integer least-squares (ILS) contenders. Monte Carlo simulations are conducted so as to realize controlled performance comparisons of the different estimators for the purpose of multi-GNSS (GPS, Galileo, BDS and QZSS) single-frequency real-time kinematic positioning. The analyses are done in a qualitative sense by means of positioning scatter plots, and in a quantitative sense by means of numerical mean-squared-error (MSE) curves for the different estimators under different model strengths (receiver-satellite geometries and varying degrees of freedom). Particular attention is given to the difference in impact the multivariate t-distribution has when either only its cofactor matrix is in common with the normal distribution or its complete variance-covariance matrix. It will be shown that the BIE-estimators give better MSEs to both the LS- and ILS-estimator when the ILS success rate is different from zero and one, respectively. We also demonstrate that using the same BIE-estimator on different data distributions can give users an unrealistic sense of their solution quality, while the usage of two different BIE-estimators on the same data can have a marginal impact. [Termes IGN] récepteur monofréquenceRésumé : (Auteur) The concept of single-frequency, dual-system (SF-DS) real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning has become feasible since, for instance, the Chinese BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) has become operational in the Asia-Pacific region. The goal of the present contribution is to investigate the single-epoch RTK performance of such a dual-system and compare it to a dual-frequency, single-system (DF-SS). As the SF-DS we investigate the L1 GPS + B1 BDS model, and for DF-SS we take L1, L2 GPS and B1, B2 BDS, respectively. Two different locations in the Asia-Pacific region are analysed with varying visibility of the BDS constellation, namely Perth in Australia and Dunedin in New Zealand. To emphasize the benefits of such a model we also look into using low-cost ublox single-frequency receivers and compare such SF-DS RTK performance to that of a DF-SS, based on much more expensive survey-grade receivers. In this contribution a formal and empirical analysis is given. It will be shown that with the SF-DS higher elevation cut-off angles than the conventional 10∘ or 15∘ can be used. The experiment with low-cost receivers for the SF-DS reveals (for the first time) that it has the potential to achieve comparable ambiguity resolution performance to that of a DF-SS (L1, L2 GPS), based on the survey-grade receivers. [Termes IGN] traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (Auteur) As the Chinese BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) has become operational in the Asia-Pacific region, it is of importance to better understand as well as demonstrate the capabilities that a combination of BeiDou with GPS brings to positioning. In this contribution, a formal and empirical analysis is given of the single-epoch RTK positioning capabilities of such a combined system. This will be done for the single- and dual-frequency case, and in comparison with the BDS- and GPS-only performances. It will be shown that with the combined system, when more satellites are available, much larger than the customary cut-off elevations can be used. This is important, as such measurement set-up will significantly increase the GNSS applicability in constrained environments, such as e.g. in urban canyons or when low-elevation multipath is present.
