[Termes IGN] TurquieRésumé : (auteur) This paper investigates the behaviour of the double-curvature Deriner dam, which is in the operation phase and also one of the highest dams in the world. In order to determine the displacements, a geodetic network consisting of twelve reference and seven object points was measured in four periods by means of the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) data. The θ2-Criteria method was used to determine the extent of the deformation. The deformation analysis results based on the GNSS measurements revealed significant horizontal and vertical displacements on the object points on the dam crest. Hence, the vertical displacements found based on the GNSS measurements can be considered erroneous, because they are greater than expected. This may be due to the narrow topography of the valley. Another conclusion drawn from the results is that there is a strong relationship between the change in the reservoir water level and horizontal deformations, as can be seen from the horizontal deformation vectors. [Termes IGN] TurquieRésumé : (auteur)Civil engineering structures (e.g., bridges, dams) are exposed to deformation under the influence of various factors such as water level changes, landslides, tectonic phenomena, etc. These deformations must be periodically monitored. Various deformation analysis approaches have been developed to describe the behaviour of a structure or natural process. The most significant task in deformation analysis is to correctly classify whether the points are stable or unstable. In this study, various robust weight functions for determination of stable/unstable points were applied to the Deriner Dam using GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) data measured over four different periods. The robust weight functions examined included the Andrews, Beaton−Tukey, Cauchy, Danish, Fair, German−McClure, Hampel, Huber, L1, and L1−L2. Test results were evaluated, and the performances of the different deformation analysis methods were determined. It was concluded that the horizontal deformations based on GNSS data determined by these robust weight functions were in good agreement with each other, except for the L1−L2. The results of all approaches were also compared with the results of the θ2–Criteria method. According to the results obtained, although the θ2–Criteria and the robust methods yielded nearly similar results, the results of the θ2–Criteria method were thought to be more reliable. [Termes IGN] TurquieRésumé : (Auteur) With the advent of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for mapping applications, it is possible to generate 3D dense point clouds using stereo images. This technology, however, has some disadvantages when compared to Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) system. Unlike LiDAR, digital cameras mounted on UAVs are incapable of viewing beneath the canopy, which leads to sparse points on the bare earth surface. In such cases, it is more challenging to remove points belonging to above-ground objects using ground filtering algorithms generated especially for LiDAR data. To tackle this problem, a methodology employing supervised image classification for filtering 3D point clouds is proposed in this study. A classified image is overlapped with the point cloud to determine the ground points to be used for digital elevation model (DEM) generation. Quantitative evaluation results showed that filtering the point cloud with this methodology has a good potential for high-resolution DEM generation.
