[Termes IGN] rebond post-glaciaireRésumé : (auteur) Geodetic measurements of the vertical crustal displacement collocated with absolute gravity changes provide a discriminatory measurement of present-day glacial changes, versus more deeply seated rock motions caused by glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA). At the East Antarctic station of Dumont d'Urville, we compare the displacements derived from continuous DORIS (1993.0–2006.0) and Global Positioning System (GPS) (1999.0–2005.7) data, and observed changes in absolute gravity (2000–2006), with the predicted vertical displacement and change in gravity from GIA modelling. The geodetic results have mutual self-consistency, suggest station stability and provide upper bounds on both GIA and secular ice mass changes. The GIA models tend to predict amplitudes of rock motion larger than those observed, and we conclude that this part of Antarctica is probably experiencing a slight gain in ice mass, in contrast to West Antarctica. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) We analysed DORIS data from Socorro Island (Mexico), providing weekly coordinates in ITRF2000 from 1900 to 2006. Careful analysis of this time-series shows horizontal and vertical movements related to recent activity of the Mt. Evermannn volcano. A deflation of the volcano between 1993 and 1996 (−94 mm yr−1 in the N23°W direction, directly pointing in the direction of the crater summit) is observed. We identify also a clear horizontal discontinuity of 81 mm and a significant change in velocity on 2002 October 3. We use a Mogi formalism to provide constraints from our geodetic results on the successive locations and size of the depletion and inflation sources. Our model is consistent with a deflation source for the period 1993–1996 located beneath Mt. Evermannn at a depth of about 6.2 km below sea level. However, our data constrain only the azimuth and dip angles of the source, which could be located elsewhere along the azimuth of the summit, depth and volume varying linearly with the distance. [Termes IGN] station permanenteRésumé : (auteur) We have compared coordinate time series from several space geodetic observing techniques to derive the kinematical motions of Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard. Velocity estimates from VLBI, GPS, and DORIS scatter more than the expected error estimates from each technique, and also between individual GPS solutions with different software and analysis strategies. A statistical combination yields average topocentric velocity components of mm/year (north), mm/year (east), and mm/year (vertical) for 1993–2007. The horizontal velocity is in agreement with a combined prediction of NUVEL-NNR-1A and the effects of post-glacial rebound and present day ice melt of nearby glaciers. The observed uplift is twice that predicted by the two latter processes. The non-linear time series of both VLBI and GPS data suggest that the uplift rate increases from 7.0 mm/year before 2003 to 10.8 mm/year after 2003. We conclude that this has a geophysical origin since no monument motions have been detected. A recent sea level decrease (1993–2007) of mm/year supports an absolute sea level increase of 3.2 mm/year as determined elsewhere by satellite altimetry. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser sur satelliteRésumé : (auteur) Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) offers the only unambiguous sub-centimeter range measurement to orbiting satellites. This capability finds many applications in addition to precision orbit determination (POD), which include a unique absolute measure of orbit accuracy, accurate altimeter range calibration, accurate definition of the Earth‘s center of mass, the most accurate definition of the geocentric gravitational coefficient (GM) and scale of a terrestrial reference network. Achieving sub-centimeter precision requires appropriate modeling of the satellite laser retro-reflector array (LRA) coupled in some cases with appropriate modeling of the satellite-dependant station detector characteristics, a highly accurate terrestrial reference frame, and appropriate attention to possible bias modeling of individual stations. We have processed Jason1/2, Lageos1/2, and TOPEX SLR tracking using the latest and most accurate POD models which include a GRACE-based static gravity, time varying gravity, and the highly accurate ILRS update of the rescaled ITRF2005 SLR complement, SLRF2005. SLRF2005 has been further updated, based on recommendations for the rescaling of ITRF2005, producing LPOD2005. Our analysis evaluates individual SLR station performance and systematic signals as observed from all four satellites. Several primary stations are identified as having significant range biases, which if untreated could lead to degradation in current levels of POD accuracy, and possibly degrade the results for other applications of the SLR measurement. However, in the past four years, through the creation of the International DORIS Service, a larger international cooperation was involved. Furthermore, the precision of its scientific applications (geodesy, geophysics) gradually improved and expanded to new fields (atmospheric sciences), leading, for example, to the publication of a special issue of the Journal of Geodesy. The goal of this manuscript is to present and explain these changes and to put them in perspective with current results obtained with other space geodetic techniques, such as GPS or Satellite Laser Ranging.
