[Termes IGN] surveillance de la végétationRésumé : (Auteur) The monitoring of land cover requires that stable land cover classes be distinguished from changes over time. Within this paper, a postclassification method is presented that provides land cover change information, based on a time series of land cover maps. The method applies a kernel filter to sequential land cover maps. Under some basic assumptions, it shows robustness against classification errors. Despite seasonality, land cover changes often occur at a low temporal frequency (e.g., maximum once every 5-10 years). If land cover maps are available more frequently, some of the information will become redundant (oversampling). The proposed method uses this redundancy for tolerating (nonsystematic) misclassifications. In order to demonstrate the benefits and limitations of the proposed method, analytical expressions have been derived. When compared to a simple postclassification comparison, one of the key strengths of the proposed approach is that it is able to improve both the overall and user's accuracy of change, while also maintaining the same level of producer's accuracy. As a case study, MODerate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer remote sensing data from 2006-2010 were classified into forest (F)/nonforest (NF) at pan-European scale. Promising results were obtained for detecting forest loss due to natural disasters. Quality was assessed using burnt area maps in southern Europe and a forest damage report after a windstorm in France. Results indicated a considerable reduction of change detection errors, confirming the theoretical results. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Estimation of soil loss using the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (rusle) has long been an active research topic, but its application in a large area is a challenge due to data availability and quality. In this study, the RUSLE model was used to evaluate soil erosion risk based on soil samples, a soil type map, digital elevation model (dem) data, and Landsat Thematic Mapper (tm) images. Multiple regression analysis was used to identify major factors influencing soil erosion risks. A regression model based on DEM-derived slope gradient and TM-derived fractional soil and vegetation images was developed to map soil erosion risk distribution in a forest ecosystem in Zhejiang, China. The developed method has the potential to quickly examine spatial distri-bution of soil erosion risks. This study provides a new insight for evaluating soil erosion risks in forest ecosystems with the integration of remote sensing and GIS. [Termes IGN] tomographieRésumé : (Auteur) The near real-time (NRT) high resolution water vapour distribution models can be constructed based on GNSS observations delivered from Ground Base Augmentation Systems (GBAS) and ground meteorological data. Since 2008 in the territory of Poland, a GBAS system called ASGEUPOS (Active Geodetic Network) has been operating. This paper addresses the problems concerning construction of the NRT model of water vapour distribution in the troposphere near Poland. The first section presents all available GNSS and ground meteorological stations in the area of Poland and neighbouring countries. In this section, data feeding scheme is discussed, together with timeline and time resolution. The high consistency between measured and interpolated temperature value is shown, whereas some discrepancy in the pressure is observed. In the second section, the NRT GNSS data processing strategy of ASG-EUPOS network is discussed. Preliminary results show fine alignment of the obtained Zenith Troposphere Delays (ZTDs) with reference data from European Permanent Network (EPN) processing center. The validation of NRT troposphere products against daily solution shows 15mm standard deviation of obtained ZTD differences. The last section presents the first results of 2-D water vapour distribution above the GNSS network and application of the tomographic model to 3-D distribution of water vapour in the atmosphere. The GNSS tomography model, working on the simulated data from numerical forecast model, shows high consistency with the reference data (by means of standard deviation 4mmkm1 or 4 ppm), however, noise analysis shows high solution sensitivity to errors in observations. The discrepancy for real data preliminary solution (measured as a mean standard deviation) between reference NWP data and tomography data was on the level of 9mmkm1 (or 9 ppm) in terms of wet refractivity. [Termes IGN] modèle numérique de surfaceRésumé : (Auteur) The primary objective of the TanDEM-X mission is the generation of a global high resolution digital elevation model (DEM) with single-pass SAR interferometry. Within the mission, the Earth’s land masses will be mapped at least twice to achieve relative vertical accuracies in the order of two meters. This paper presents an analysis of the mission performance in terms of the relative height error showing first results obtained from TanDEM-X interferometric data. For critical areas characterized by strong volume decorrelation phenomena or mountainous terrain, different approaches to improve the final height error are investigated as well.
