[Termes IGN] temps réelRésumé : (Auteur) Many solutions have been proposed for indoor pedestrian navigation. Some rely on pre-installed sensor networks, which offer good accuracy but are limited to areas that have been prepared for that purpose, thus requiring an expensive and possibly time-consuming process. Such methods are therefore inappropriate for navigation in emergency situations since the power supply may be disturbed. Other types of solutions track the user without requiring a prepared environment. However, they may have low accuracy. Offline tracking has been proposed to increase accuracy, however this prevents users from knowing their position in real time. This paper describes a real time indoor navigation system that does not require prepared building environments and provides tracking accuracy superior to previously described tracking methods. The system uses a combination of four techniques: foot-mounted IMU (Inertial Motion Unit), ultrasonic ranging, particle filtering and model-based navigation. The very purpose of the project is to combine these four well-known techniques in a novel way to provide better indoor tracking results for pedestrians. [Termes IGN] surveillance sanitaireRésumé : (auteur) Since the start of 2010 there has been a flare-up of measles in France, following on the resurgence observed in 2008. The aim of this study was to present results of the epidemiological surveillance of measles in the French armed forces and to describe the increase in incidence. Measles was surveyed from 1992 to 2010. Criteria for report were those used for French national compulsory notification. The data, concerning active military personnel, were provided by the physicians in the armed forces using anonymous data collection forms. Between 1992 and July 2010, 689 cases of measles were notified. Since 2002, the mean incidence rate was 1 case per 100,000. A significant increase has been observed for 2010 (13.9 cases per 100,000 in 2010 versus 1.8 in 2009). The 28 cases reported in 2010 involved five clusters and three isolated cases. The mean age of affected subjects was 27 years. Only 30% of cases had been vaccinated. The epidemic resurgence of measles observed in 2010 in the French armed forces follows the same pattern as that observed nationally and at European level, and can be seen as the likely consequence of inadequate vaccination cover. [Termes IGN] KirghizistanRésumé : (Auteur) This study presents results of calibration/validation (C/V) of Jason-1 and Jason-2 satellite altimeters over Lake Issykkul located in Kyrgyzstan, which was chosen as a dedicated radar altimetry C/V site in 2004. The objectives here are to estimate absolute altimeter biases and to quantify the altimetry instrument error budgets for lakes studies, including errors associated with the atmosphere media delay corrections of the radar signal, and with the different retracking mode used over “nonocean” surface. The C/V is conducted using various equipments, for example, GPS local network, moving GPS along the satellites tracks over the Lake Issykkul, in situ level gauges and weather stations. The absolute bias obtained for Jason-1 and Jason-2 from field campaigns conducted in 2008, 2009 and 2010 are 96 + 40 mm and 162 + 42 mm, respectively. The bias calculated for Jason-1 is in close agreement with estimates done at other dedicated C/V sites in the ocean, but the Jason-2 bias still differs by 1–2 cm with ocean C/V estimates. The relative bias (Jason-2 minus Jason-1) deduced from measurements during the tandem mission is estimated at 81 + 10 mm. The accuracy of Jason-1 and Jason-2 for the determination of the lake level variations as compared to the historical in situ gauges of the Lake Issykkul is 33 and 31 mm RMS, respectively. The bias between the two modes of retracking available on Jason-2 Geophysical Data Records (GDRs) has been estimated over the two first years of Jason-2 data over the Lake Issykkul. We found an average value of 234 + 40 mm, which is in good agreement with results obtained in a previous study on the Envisat satellite (Crétaux et al. 2009). Lake level studies using Jason-2 or Envisat must therefore take this relative bias into account if both retracked altimetry heights are used.
