[Termes IGN] surveillance géologiqueRésumé : (auteur) In coal mining areas, ground subsidence persistently happens, which produces serious environmental issues and affects the development of cities. To monitor the ground deformation due to coal mining, a modified time-series InSAR technique combining persistent scatterers (PSs) and distributed scatterers (DSs) is presented in this paper. In particular, DSs are efficiently identified using classified information and statistical characteristics. Furthermore, a two-scale network is introduced into traditional PSI to deal with PSs and DSs in a multi-layer framework by taking the advantage of the robust of PSs and the widely distribution of DSs. The proposed method is performed to investigate the subsidence of Huainan City, Anhui province (China), during 2012–2013 using 14 scenes of Radarsat-2 images. Experimental results show that the proposed method can ease the estimation complexity and significantly increase the spatial density of measurement points, which can provide more detailed deformation information. Result shows that there are obvious subsidence areas detected in the test site with subsidence velocity larger than 5 cm/year. The proposed method brings practical applications for non-urban area deformation monitoring. [Termes IGN] volume (grandeur)Résumé : (auteur) The full-scale avalanche test site at Lautaret Pass in the southern French Alps has been used by IRSTEA-Cemagref Research Institute since 1972. Over recent years, two avalanche paths have been used routinely to release avalanches and study avalanche dynamics and interactions between avalanches and obstacles. Avalanche flows are generally dense and dry, sometimes with a powder cloud on top. Main avalanche path no. 2 is dedicated to studies on avalanche dynamics. Within the flow of the avalanche, flow height and vertical profiles of pressure and velocity are measured along a 3.5 m tripod. The snow volume released in the release zone is quantified by differential analysis of laser scanning measurements performed before and after triggering. High-speed positioning of the avalanche front along the track is carried out by terrestrial oblique photogrammetry. Above the dense layer, the upper layer of the avalanche is characterized by particle and air flux measurements. Avalanche path no. 1 is smaller in size and particularly well-suited to experiments on structures exposed to small to medium-size avalanches ( Numéro de notice : A2015--114 Affiliation des auteurs : ENSG+Ext (2012-2019) Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1016/j.coldregions.2015.03.005 Date de publication en ligne : 18/03/2015 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1016/j.coldregions.2015.03.005 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=90654

[Termes IGN] segmentation multi-échelleRésumé : (Auteur) Object-based analysis of high spatial resolution remote sensing images addresses the matter of multiscale segmentation. However, existing segmentation evaluation methods mainly focus on single-scale segmentation. In this paper, we examine the issue of supervised multiscale segmentation evaluation and propose two discrepancy measures to determine the manner in which geographic objects are delineated by multiscale segmentations. A QuickBird scene in Hangzhou, China, is used to conduct the evaluation. The results reveal the effectiveness of the proposed measures, in terms of method comparison and parameter optimization, for multiscale segmentation of high spatial resolution images. Moreover, meaningful indications for selecting suitable multiple segmentation scales are presented. The proposed measures are applicable to performance evaluation and parameter optimization for multiscale segmentation algorithms. [Termes IGN] vectorisationRésumé : (auteur) The purpose of this study was to determine the spatial structure of vegetation on the repository of the mine “Fryderyk” in Tarnowskie Góry. Tested area was located in the Upper Silesian Industrial Region (a large industrial region in Poland). It was a unique refuge habitat – Natura2000; PLH240008. The main aspect of this elaboration was to investigate the possible use of geotechniques and generally available geodata for mapping LULC changes and determining the spatial structure of vegetation. The presented study focuses on the analysis of a spatial structure of vegetation in the research area. This exploration was based on aerial images and orthophotomaps from 1947, 1998, 2003, 2009, 2011 and airborne laser scanning data (2011, ISOK project). Forest succession changes which occurred between 1947 and 2011 were analysed. The selected features of vegetation overgrowing spoil heap “Fryderyk” was determined.
The results demonstrated a gradual succession of greenery on soil heap. In 1947, 84% of this area was covered by low vegetation. Tree expansion was proceeding in the westerly and northwest direction. In 2011 this canopy layer covered almost 50% of the research area. Parameters such as height of vegetation, crowns length and cover density were calculated by an airborne laser scanning data. These analyses indicated significant diversity in vertical and horizontal structures of vegetation. The study presents some capacities to use airborne laser scanning for an impartial evaluation of the structure of vegetation.

[Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) The quarrying industry is changing the local landscape, forming deep open pits and spoil heaps in close proximity to them, especially lignite mines. The impact can include toxic soil material (low pH, heavy metals, oxidations etc.) which is the basis for further reclamation and afforestation. Forests that stand on spoil heaps have very different growth conditions because of the relief (slope, aspect, wind and rainfall shadows, supply of solar energy, etc.) and type of soil that is deposited. Airborne laser scanning (ALS) technology deliver point clouds (XYZ) and derivatives as raster height models (DTM, DSM, nDSM=CHM) which allow the reception of selected 2D and 3D forest parameters (e.g. height, base of the crown, cover, density, volume, biomass, etc). The automation of ALS point cloud processing and integrating the results into GIS helps forest managers to take appropriate decisions on silvicultural treatments in areas with failed plantations (toxic soil, droughts on south-facing slopes; landslides, etc.) or as regular maintenance. The ISOK country-wide project ongoing in Poland will soon deliver ALS point cloud data which can be successfully used for the monitoring and management of many thousands of hectares of destroyed post-industrial areas which according to the law, have to be afforested and transferred back to the State Forest.
