[Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) The suitability assessment of land use is crucial to avoid wasting land resources. However, the traditional methods with subjective weights are prone to reduce the reasonability and reliability of assessment. For filling this knowledge gap, the probability neural network (PNN) coupled with GIS was adopted to evaluate the land use suitability in this paper. According to the applications of the urban land resource, the land use was divided into three types (resident, industry and ecological reserve). Thus, the three different assessment criteria systems were built for the three land use types. The result of residential land use indicated that the most suitable, suitable and normal suitable residential land were 401, 272 and 12,406 km2 and mainly located in Changhai, Lvshun and Pulandian accordingly. The most suitable land for industry was in Ganjingzi, Jinzhou and Wafangdian and accounted for 22% of the total area. While the most suitable land for ecological reserve was in Pulandian and Zhuanghe with the area of 1967 km2. The results indicated that the south of Dalian was suitable for the residential land use, north of Dalian was suitable for the ecological land use and the central was suitable for industrial land use. The results were coincided to the actual spatial distribution of land use. The proposed PNN coupled with GIS assessment method in suitability of land use is conducted to provide a more reasonable assessment result that can be used by managers and regulators. [Termes IGN] visualisation simultanéeRésumé : (Auteur) We developed a method for high-accuracy surface modeling (HASM) in terms of the fundamental theorem of surfaces, which has theoretically found a solution for error problems. However, the computing speed of HASM was too slow to be widely applied in practice. Thus, adjustment computation of HASM (HASM-AC) is developed in this article. For comparatively testing HASM-AC accuracy, a mathematical surface is first selected so that the true value is able to be predetermined to avoid uncontrollable data errors. The numerical test indicates that HASM-AC has the highest accuracy and its accuracy is 20.67, 15.67, and 14.67 times higher than the inverse distance weighting (IDW), kriging, and spline, respectively. Then, a 0.4 km times 0.5 km rectangular area is used to test the effects of different spatial resolutions and sampling intervals on accuracy. This real-world test demonstrates that HASM-AC accuracy increases at a much better and stable pace as the spatial resolution becomes finer and sampling intervals get shorter, compared to the classic methods. Finally, the computing speed is tested in an area with 6000 times 6000 grid cells where Qinghai, Gansu, and Sichuan provinces meet. The computing speed of HASM-AC is 11, 8, and 563 times faster than IDW, spline, and kriging, respectively, which makes HASM-AC able to process data in a huge size and make real-time visualization realizable. In short, HASM-AC performs best in both the numerical and real-world tests. [Termes IGN] solideRésumé : (Auteur) Building extraction based on preestablished models has been recognized as a promising idea for acquiring 3D data for buildings from aerial images. This paper proposes a novel building extraction method developed from the concept of fitting CSG (Constructive Solid Geometry) primitives to aerial images. To be practicable, this method adopts a semiautomatic procedure, carrying out highlevel tasks (building detection, model selection, and attribution) interactively by the operator and performing optimal modelimage fitting automatically with a leastsquares fitting algorithm. Buildings, represented by CSG models, can be reconstructed part by part after fitting each parameterized CSG primitive to the edge pixels of aerial images. Reconstructed building parts can then be combined using CSG Boolean set operators. Consequently, a building is represented by a CSG tree in which each node links two branches of combined parts. This paper demonstrates ten examples of building extraction from aerial photos taken at a scale of 1:5,000 and scanned at a pixel size of 25 1.um. All of the tests were performed in the prototypal system implemented in a CADbased environment cooperated with a number of specially designed programs. The process time for each primitive is about 20 seconds and the successful rate of model-image fitting was about 90 percent. Evaluated with some check points, the fitting accuracy was about 0,3 m horizontally and 1 m vertically. The test results are encouraging and promote the theory of modelbased building extraction.
