These new satellites come with the best of resolutions than the previous ones and that does not mean the ones with less resolutions can so longer be used. Landsat images at (15m resolution panchromatic and 30m resolution multispectral), SPOT5 images at (5m resolution panchromatic and 10m resolution muhispectral), SPOT5 images at (2.5m resolution in panchromatic and 5m resolution in multispectral), SPOT4 images at (10m resolution in panchromatic and 20m resolution in multispectral) and Quickbird images at (0.6m resolution in panchromatic) were used. Landsat images at 15m resolution in panchromatic and 30m resolution in multispectral showed the landscape of Johannesburg as it covered almost all of its area and the images showed the features that could be seen. The SPOT5 images at 5m resolution in panchromatic and 10m resolution in multi-spectral showed an improvement in details that can be observed the Landsat. Ortho-mages and DEM have been produced directly from the stereoscopic for both, SPOT5 at 5m resolution panchromatic and 10m resolution multi-spectral and SPOT4 at 10m resolution panchromatic and 20m resolution multi-spectral. The 3D view of SPOT5 (5m pan and 10m Xs) and Quickbird have been produced. SPOT5 at 2.5m resolution in panchromatic and 5m resolution in multi-spectral and Quickbird images at the highest resolution of 0.6m panchromatic showed details such as roads, bridges, buildings and most of the infrastructure of Beijing and Madrid respectively with the latter show them very clear than the former. The heights of the buildings have been determined from both SPOT5 at 2.5m resolution panchromatic and 5m resolution multi-spectral and Quickbird images at 0.6m resolution panchromatic.
