Topographic heights and slopes of several of the largest ice caps in Franz Josef Land, Russian High Arctic were derived from the repeat-pass INSAR data acquired in September and October 1995 without previous phase unwrapping yet without compromising on accuracy. By means of a theoretic model, which is set up by assumption and later is fitted to known calibration data, it is shown the best tuning of the terminating impedance. Because of the good qualitative agreement between theory and measurement, a theoretic standard equation is interpolated into various calibration data. From this results that under certain restrictions the relations of the telegraph line without losses also satisfy the calibration curve quantitatively. Therefore fin-ally the possibility is tested to identify those components of the line and of the terminating impedance, which cause the wellknown variation with time of the calibration state.
