[Termes IGN] Wuhan (Chine)Résumé : (auteur) Precise point positioning (PPP) is receiving increasing interest due to its cost-effectiveness, global coverage and high accuracy. However, its application in the urban environment is still full of challenges due to the satellite tracking sky-view. Thus, we presented a comprehensive positioning model by fusing the multi-GNSS (global navigation satellite system) combination, GNSS/INS (inertial navigation system) tightly coupled integration as well as the ionospheric and tropospheric augmentation in the undifferenced and uncombined PPP. The performance of this model in dual-frequency and single-frequency positioning was assessed with two experiments that denoted as T019 and T023, respectively, and both the experiments were carried out in a real urban environment. Particularly, the experiment T023 was carried out in the Second Ring Road of Wuhan city, which can be regarded as a typical downtown environment. Concerning the regional atmospheric augmentation, observations from 5 reference stations with an inter-station distance of about 40 km were also collected during the experimental time. The comparison between reference stations suggested that the regional tropospheric model had a precision of better than 0.6 cm in terms of zenith tropospheric delay, while the regional ionospheric model had a precision of around 0.5 total electron content unit in terms of Vertical Total Electron Content. It can be concluded that the GPS-only PPP can be improved significantly for urban vehicle navigation with these techniques, i.e., the multi-GNSS, INS tightly coupled integration and the atmospheric augmentation, through the positioning analysis, while INS tightly coupled integration makes the most contributions under the downtown environment, and the improvement of the regional atmospheric augmentation in single-frequency PPP is more significant since that single frequency is more sensitive to the ionospheric delay. In addition, it is proved that the regional atmospheric augmentation accelerates positioning convergence. The 3D positioning root-mean-square (RMS) with the comprehensive positioning model for dual frequency are 0.22 m and 0.77 m for T019 and T023, respectively. Concerning single-frequency PPP, the 3D RMS is 0.45 m and 1.17 m for T019 and T023, respectively. [Termes IGN] triple différenceRésumé : (auteur) Triple-frequency observations will introduce an inter-frequency clock bias (IFCB) between the new frequency and the original dual-frequency observations. It has been verified that satellite IFCB can reach dozens of centimeters and several centimeters for GPS Block IIF satellite and BDS satellite, respectively. The existence of satellite IFCB will significantly affect undifferenced triple-frequency data processing. Based on 4-year data collected from 80 globally distributed stations, the long-term characteristics of IFCB coefficients obtained by using harmonic analysis have been studied. The results demonstrate that the coefficients of IFCB periodic model cannot be well fitted only by using sun elevation angle. Also, coefficients have obvious periodic characteristics and their periods differ among different satellites. Thus, a new linear-plus-periodic model is proposed to fit the long-term coefficients. Then, IFCB empirical correction models for 12 GPS Block IIF satellites and BDS GEO and IGSO satellites are built. In order to validate the correction model, IFCB standard deviation (STD), triple-frequency precise point positioning (PPP) and undifferenced extra-wide-lane (EWL) ambiguity resolution are employed. The results based on more than 4-year observations show that, with correction model applied, the average IFCB STD decreases by about 65.5% and 45.5% for GPS and BDS satellites, respectively. Compared to triple-frequency PPP without IFCB correction, triple-frequency PPP results with IFCB correction show that Up, North and East components accuracy are improved by 12.3%, 16.0% and 13.2%, respectively. Besides, IFCB correction will greatly improve the consistence of EWL fractional cycle bias among different stations and improve the success rate of EWL ambiguity resolution. [Vedettes matières IGN] Traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (Auteur) To access the full capabilities of multi-frequency signals from the modernized GPS, GLONASS and newly deployed BDS, Galileo, the undifferenced and uncombined observable model in which the individual signal of each frequency is treated as independent observable has drawn increasing interest in GNSS community. The ionosphere delay is the major issue in the undifferenced and uncombined observable model. Though several ionosphere delay parameterization approaches have been promoted, we argue that the functional model with only deterministic characteristic may not follow the irregular spatial and temporal variations. On the contrary, when the ionosphere delay is estimated as random walk or even white noise with only stochastic characteristic, the ionosphere terms turn out to be non-estimable or not sensitive to their absolute value. In the authors’ previous study, we have developed the deterministic plus stochastic ionosphere model, denoted as DESIGN, in which the deterministic part expressed with second-order polynomial is estimated as piece-wise constant over 5 min and the stochastic part is estimated as random walk with constrains derived based on statistics of 4 weeks data in 2010. In this contribution, we further model the deterministic part with Fourier series and update the variogram of the stochastic part accordingly based on two-year data collected by about 150 stations. From the statistic studies, it is concluded that the main frequency components are identical for different coefficients, different stations, as well as different ionosphere activity status, but with varying amplitude. Thus, in the Fourier series expression of the deterministic part, we fix the frequency and estimate the amplitude as daily constant unknowns. Concerning the stochastic component, the variation of variogram is both, geomagnetic latitude and ionosphere activity status dependent. Thus, we use the Gaussian function and Epstein function to model the variation of geomagnetic latitude and ionosphere activity status, respectively. Based on the undifferenced and uncombined observable model with ionosphere constrained with DESIGN, both dual-frequency and single-frequency PPP are carried out to demonstrate its efficiency with three-month data collected in 2010, 2014, and 2017 with different ionosphere activity status. The experimental results suggest that compared with ionosphere-free model and our previous method, the averaged 3D improvement of our new method is 17.8 and 7.6% for dual-frequency PPP, respectively. While for single-frequency PPP, the averaged 3D improvement is 37.0 and 14%, respectively. [Termes IGN] temps réelRésumé : (Auteur) During past decades, precise point positioning (PPP) has been proven to be a well-known positioning technique for centimeter or decimeter level accuracy. However, it needs long convergence time to get high-accuracy positioning, which limits the prospects of PPP, especially in real-time applications. It is expected that the PPP convergence time can be reduced by introducing high-quality external information, such as ionospheric or tropospheric corrections. In this study, several methods for tropospheric wet delays modeling over wide areas are investigated. A new, improved model is developed, applicable in real-time applications in China. Based on the GPT2w model, a modified parameter of zenith wet delay exponential decay wrt. height is introduced in the modeling of the real-time tropospheric delay. The accuracy of this tropospheric model and GPT2w model in different seasons is evaluated with cross-validation, the root mean square of the zenith troposphere delay (ZTD) is 1.2 and 3.6 cm on average, respectively. On the other hand, this new model proves to be better than the tropospheric modeling based on water-vapor scale height; it can accurately express tropospheric delays up to 10 km altitude, which potentially has benefits in many real-time applications. With the high-accuracy ZTD model, the augmented PPP convergence performance for BeiDou navigation satellite system (BDS) and GPS is evaluated. It shows that the contribution of the high-quality ZTD model on PPP convergence performance has relation with the constellation geometry. As BDS constellation geometry is poorer than GPS, the improvement for BDS PPP is more significant than that for GPS PPP. Compared with standard real-time PPP, the convergence time is reduced by 2–7 and 20–50% for the augmented BDS PPP, while GPS PPP only improves about 6 and 18% (on average), in horizontal and vertical directions, respectively. When GPS and BDS are combined, the geometry is greatly improved, which is good enough to get a reliable PPP solution, the augmentation PPP improves insignificantly comparing with standard PPP. [Vedettes matières IGN] Traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) At present, the BeiDou system (BDS) enables the practical application of triple-frequency observable in the Asia-Pacific region, of many possible benefits from the additional signal; this study focuses on exploiting the contribution of zero difference (ZD) ambiguity resolution (AR) to the precise point positioning (PPP). A general modeling strategy for multi-frequency PPP AR is presented, in which, the least squares ambiguity decorrelation adjustment (LAMBDA) method is employed in ambiguity fixing based on the full variance-covariance ambiguity matrix generated from the raw data processing model. Because of the reliable fixing of BDS L1 ambiguity faces more difficulty, the LAMBDA method with partial ambiguity fixing is proposed to enable the independent and instantaneous resolution of extra wide-lane (EWL) and wide-lane (WL). This mechanism of sequential ambiguity fixing is demonstrated for resolving ZD satellite phase bias and performing triple-frequency PPP AR with two reference station networks with a typical baseline of up to 400 and 800 km, respectively.
