[Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (Auteur) Modern photogrammetric camera architectures provides high-resolution imagery in nadir and oblique views. This case study sets out to prove the potential of oblique imagery to deliver dense point cloud to be used for DEM, 3D city model and true orthophoto generation - an important step towards 'all-in-one' photogrammetry. [Termes IGN] recouvrement d'imagesRésumé : (Auteur) One of the most complex and time-consuming tasks in the photogrammetric workflow is the extraction of corresponding points in two or more overlapping images. This is the first stage of aerial triangulation and block adjustment aimed at computing the positions of the projection centre and orientation of each image. Automating the extraction of these so-called 'tie-point' can be challenging, especially when non-standard approaches such as cameras mounted on UAVs or oblique imagery are used. The authors present a novel matching method able to handle the most challenging imagery. (SAM, Inc.) performed a mobile Lidar survey of the historic Sixth Street district in Austin, Texas, USA, for an urban planning project being conducting by the municipality. Sixth Street is an acclaimed music and entertainement district in the heart of downtown Autin, and city planners intend to redevelop it, broadening the pedestrian streetscape and improving both vehiclular and pedestrian traffic control. Using mobile lidar technology to survey this busy street significantly shortened data acquisition time and provided survey-grade deliverables to the city. The detailed point cloud dataset was also made available to city planners for 3D planning and visualisation.
