[Termes descripteurs IGN] traitement automatique d'imagesRésumé : (Auteur) The advantages of continuously and soundly obtaining large multidimensional, multiscale and multitemporal observation datasets from satellite remote sensing make it indispensable in building a national spatial data infrastructure. This paper introduces the ZY-3 satellite developed in China and discusses a fully automatic data-processing system to generate geoinformation products, such as digital elevation models (DEMs) and digital orthophotomaps (DOMs), based on ZY-3 imagery. The key technologies of automatic geoinformation product generation, including strip image-based bundle adjustment together with creating DEMs and DOMs, are illustrated. The accuracies of the georeferencing and automatically generated geoinformation products are also discussed. This automatic data-processing system is shown to provide a good foundation for near real-time derivation of such geoinformation products and for the promotion and application of Chinese domestic satellites. [Termes descripteurs IGN] tunnelRésumé : (Auteur) In 2012, for the first time in Belgium, integrated monitoring was carried out to assess the deformations of a twin-tube tunnel below the River Scheldt in Antwerp under the influence of estuarine tides. Levelling measurements during a tide cycle showed a variation in the height of levelling bolts of up to 10 mm between low and high tide. Simultaneous strain-gauge measurements also showed a significant difference in strains. A deformation of the tunnel section during each twice-daily tide cycle, resulting in an eccentric “egg” or “pumpkin” shape, could hold large risks for the strength and durability of the tunnel structure. However, laser scanning results showed that there were no significant deformations of the tunnel's shape during the tide cycle. The laser scanning measurements resulted in a more thorough view of the deformation pattern which was much needed and improved the long-term risk assessment of the tunnel. [Termes descripteurs IGN] projection perspectiveRésumé : (Auteur) A behaviour of perspective projection which causes eccentricity in the image measurement of circular and spherical targets is discussed. While it is commonly known that flat circular targets can have a significant displacement of the elliptical image centre with respect to the true circle centre, it can also be shown that a similar effect also exists for spherical targets. Both types of target images exhibit elliptical characteristics. If measurement methods such as best-fitting ellipses are used to detect the target, the calculated ellipse centre does not correspond to the desired target centre in 3D space. This paper firstly discusses the use and measurement of circular and spherical targets. It then describes the geometrical projection model in order to demonstrate the eccentricity in image space which, based on numerical simulations, is further quantified and investigated. Finally, the resulting effect in 3D space is estimated for stereo- and multi-image intersections. It is shown that the eccentricity is larger than usually assumed, and must be compensated for in high-accuracy applications. Furthermore, spherical targets do not display better results than circular targets. [Termes descripteurs IGN] traitement d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become an interesting and active research topic for photogrammetry. Current research is based on images acquired by UAVs which have a high ground resolution and good spectral resolution due to low flight altitudes combined with a high-resolution camera. One of the main problems preventing full automation of data processing of UAV imagery is the unknown degradation effect of blur caused by camera movement during image acquisition. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the influence of blur on photogrammetric image processing. Images with precisely known motion blur were produced to determine the effect. It was found that even small blurs affect normal photogrammetric processes significantly. Although operator intervention might be time consuming, it can ensure that the results are still of acceptable accuracy.
