[Termes IGN] ZambieRésumé : (auteur) Past and current cadastral records are among the most valuable information that different countries need to solve land management and planning problems. However, many countries still face critical challenges in adopting modern temporal cadastral systems, including a sound integration of time constructs, efficient data integration and representation methods in the designed models. This research developed a new temporal GIS model to manage spatial and non-spatial temporal cadastral data, namely cadastral parcels, land-use and land-ownerships. Three-time dimensions defined by decision and valid and transaction times were formulated to qualify parcels data. A hybrid approach fusing on the Base State with Amendment and Space-Time Composite models is used to store significant parcel changes and their relationships in two interdependent sub-databases. We used administrative plot identifiers to associate with land use and ownership records, experiencing distinct temporal variations in the third sub-database within the same main repository. We experimented our model with data from Tanzania, and the results from queries demonstrate that the designed model can store all three temporal cadastral data and track their variations semantically and effectively. This model is very useful for storing cadastral parcels, reasons, events, and the transformed parcels’ values to improve decision-making processes. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) A methodology has been developed to create a physical model of the Nanda Devi National Park (NDNP), a Natural World Heritage Site (NWHS), by additive fabrication, to facilitate effective communication among the stakeholders for conservation management. The GIS data of a terrain give elevation values on the surface of a terrain only and lack 3D definition. The DEM ASCII XYZ file format is converted into a 3D STL file with walls and a base. Gaps and singularities in the data are taken care of. There is ample scope for aiding conservation management and restoration of NWHS sites using additive manufacturing (AM). A physical model of the NDNP was created using the methodology. The model holds very high value for long-term monitoring of the NWHS and the Himalayas. The physical model of the NDNP can serve as an effective medium of communication for conservation management. Physical models of the glacial basins or the Nanda Devi peak will provide further value. The research work can be extended to making models of the NDNP of larger sizes or by focusing on smaller region of the NDNP in consultation with the stakeholders. [Termes IGN] température de l'airRésumé : (auteur) Heritage preservation poses numerous difficulties, especially in emergency situations or during budget cuts. In these contexts, having tools that facilitate efficient and rapid management of hazards-vulnerabilities is a priority for the preventive conservation and triage of cultural assets. This paper presents the first (to the authors' knowledge) free and public availability Artificial Intelligence platform designed for conservation strategies in cultural heritage. Art-Risk 3.0 is a platform designed as a fuzzy-logic inference system that combines information from geographical information system maps with expert assessments, in order to identify the contextual threat level and the degree of vulnerability that heritage buildings present. Thanks to the possibilities that the geographic information system offers, 12 Spanish churches (11th - 16th centuries) were analyzed. The artificial intelligence platform developed makes it possible to analyze the index of hazard, vulnerability and functionality, classify buildings according to the risk in order to do a sustainable use of budgets through the rational management of preventive conservation. The data stored in the system allows identify the danger due to geotechnics, precipitation, torrential downpour, thermal oscillation, frost, earthquake and flooding. Through the use of fuzzy logic, the tool interrelates environmental conditions with 14 other variables related to structural risks and the vulnerability of buildings, which are evaluated through bibliographic search and review of photographic images. The geographic information system has identified torrential rains and thermal oscillations as the environmental threats that mostly impact heritage buildings in Spain. The results obtained highlight the Church of Santiago de Jesús as the most vulnerable building due to a lack of preventive conservation programs. These results, consistent with the inclusion of this monument on the list of heritage at risk defined by Hispania Nostra, corroborate the functionality of the model. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) In the last few years, the agricultural sector in Syria has suffered from major problems related to land degradation. To cope with this problem, a land suitability assessment has become an essential tool for sustainable land use management. The present research qualitatively evaluated the suitability of land in the Al-Yarmouk Basin (S-Syria) for rainfed winter wheat (Triticum aestivum) cultivation. In this study, a regional spatial approach involving three steps was developed, based on the method proposed by Sys et al. In the first step, a soil survey was carried out and 107 soil profiles were described, sampled and analyzed. In the second step, climatic gridded datasets from 1984–2014 MRm at a high spatial resolution (30 meters) and the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) were clipped from NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) and prepared for the study area. In the third step, a land suitability assessment was performed using the geographical information system (GIS) and multi criteria decision support (MCDS). Soil survey outcomes showed that the study area was dominated by five soil orders: Mollisols, Inceptisols, Vertisols, Entisols and Aridisols. Also, results from the Sys model illustrated that more than 23.8% of the study area is highly suitable (S1–0) for wheat production without any limitations, whereas 38.7% and 37.5% are highly suitable (S1–1) and moderately suitable (S2), respectively. Also, the study emphasizes the important role of topographical factors in the study area for wheat cultivation. All in all, this research suggests W-Syria as a potential region for wheat cultivation, instead of the eastern area which is subject to climate change and a shortage of water. Integrating the Sys-approach and the GIS framework offers a good tool for policy-makers to apply in Syria for land suitability assessments. [Termes IGN] ville intelligenteRésumé : (auteur) Street vitality has become an essential indicator for evaluating the attractiveness and potential of the sustainable development of urban blocks, and it can be reflected by the type and the frequency of people's pedestrian activities on the street. While it is recognized that street built environment features affect pedestrian behavior and street vitality, quantifying the impact of these characteristics remains inconclusive. This paper proposes an automated deep learning approach to quantitatively explore the association between the street built environment and street vitality. First, we established a deep learning model for street vitality classification for automatic evaluation of street vitality based on the volumes and activities of pedestrians in the street through multiple object tracking and scene classification. Then, we applied semantic segmentation to measure five selected vitality-related street built environment variables. Finally, a linear regression model was applied to evaluate the built environment variables’ significance and effects on street vitality. To verify our method's accuracy and applicability, we selected a commercial complex in Osaka as an illustrative example. The experimental results highlight that street width and transparency have significant positive effects on street vitality. Compared with traditional methods, our approach is feasible, reliable, transferable, and more efficient.
