The location selection of electric vehicle charging stations is one of the most vital topics in order to enhance the use of electric vehicles. In this sense, the aim of this paper is to propose an approach that integrates Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques and Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods for finding suitable locations of the electric vehicle charging stations. In this regard, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) methods are used to calculate the weights of criteria. While the two different weights for each criterion are obtained by means of AHP in terms of environmental impact and accessibility, another weight for each criterion is obtained as a means of applying the FAHP. The intersection of three different suitability indexes is determined so as to achieve a holistic, credible result. The Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method is used to rank the alternative locations. The results show that the proposed approach offers a notable solution to be selected suitable charging station locations. Moreover, policymakers and administrators could benefit from these results in order to make efficient decisions for forward planning and strategies. [Termes IGN] visualisation cartographiqueRésumé : (auteur) The aim of the study is to present landscape changes in the nineteenth century in the central part of the Upper Silesian Industrial District, which is the municipality of Katowice (southern Poland). The comparison of changes, particularly components of the geographical environment, is based on two time periods – the year 1827 and 1883. Nineteenth-century maps were georeferenced, digitized and a series of thematic spatial visualizations presenting quantitative changes were generated by means of the Geographic Information System (GIS). The scale of the visualization created is 1:100,000 and the area is 16,400 ha. The spatial visualization of quantitative landscape change shows the development of the anthropogenic pressure in the form of settlement areas, raw materials extraction places, roads, and the decrease of natural environments, such as forests, rivers, and water bodies. These changes were caused mainly by the exploration of underground deposits and the rapidly growing population of Upper Silesia. [Termes IGN] riveRésumé : (auteur) The lack of safe drinking water worldwide has drawn the attention of decision makers to riverbank filtration (RBF) for its many advantages in purifying surface water. This study provides an overview of the hydrogeologic, fluvial, and environmental influences on the performance of RBF systems and aims to develop a model for RBF site selection. Using multi-attribute utility theory (MAUT), this study structured the RBF siting problem and assessed a multiplicative utility function for the decision maker. In a case study, geostatistical methods were used to acquire the necessary data and geographic information systems (GIS) were used to screen sites suitable for RBF implementation. Those suitable sites were then evaluated and ranked using the multi-attribute utility model. The result showed that sites can be identified as most preferred among the selected suitable sites based on their expected utility values. This study definitively answers the question regarding the capability of MAUT in RBF site selection. Further studies are needed to verify the influences of the attributes on the performance of RBF systems. Note de contenu : 1- Introduction

Note de contenu : 1- Introduction
