[Termes IGN] programmation par contraintesRésumé : (Auteur) This work investigates constructing plans of building interiors using learned building measurements. In particular, we address the problem of accurately estimating dimensions of rooms when measurements of the interior space have not been captured. Our approach focuses on learning the geometry, orientation and occurrence of rooms from a corpus of real-world building plan data to form a predictive model. The trained predictive model may then be queried to generate estimates of room dimensions and orientations. These estimates are then integrated with the overall building footprint and iteratively improved using a two-stage optimisation process to form complete interior plans.
The approach is presented as a semi-automatic method for constructing plans which can cope with a limited set of known information and constructs likely representations of building plans through modelling of soft and hard constraints. We evaluate the method in the context of estimating residential house plans and demonstrate that predictions can effectively be used for constructing plans given limited prior knowledge about the types of rooms and their topology.Numéro de notice : A2017-315 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1080/13658816.2017.1313980 En ligne : http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/13658816.2017.1313980 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=85369

However, the existing solutions for the optimal location problem assume that there is only one criterion to determine the preferred site for each object, whereas with numerous real-world applications multiple criteria are used as preference measures. For example, while a single criterion solution might consider the metric distance between the customers and the retail store as the preference measure, a multi-criteria solution might consider the annual membership cost as well as the distance to the retail store to find an optimal location. In this paper, for the first time we develop an efficient and exact solution for the so-called Multi-Criteria Optimal Location (MCOL) problem that can scale with large datasets. Toward that end, first we formalize the MCOL problem as maximal reverse skyline query (MaxRSKY). Given a set of sites and a set of objects in a d-dimensional space, MaxRSKY query returns a location in the space where if a new site s is introduced, the size of the (bichromatic) reverse skyline set of s is maximal. To the best of our knowledge, this paper is the first to define and study MaxRSKY query. Accordingly, we propose a filter-based solution, termed EF-MaxRSKY, that effectively prunes the search space for efficient identification of the optimal location. Our extensive empirical analysis with both real and synthetic datasets show that EF-MaxRSKY is invariably efficient in computing answers for MaxRSKY queries with large datasets containing thousands of sites and objects. [Termes IGN] zone homogèneRésumé : (Auteur) Map databases traditionally capture snapshot representations of the world following strict data collection and representation guidelines. The content of these map databases is often assessed using data quality metrics focusing on accuracy, completeness and consistency. The success of volunteered geographic information, supporting evolving representations of the world based on fluid guidelines, has rendered these measures insufficient. In this paper, we address the need to capture the variability in quality of a map database. We propose a new spatial data quality measure – dataset maturity – enabling assessment of the database based on temporal trends in feature definitions, specifically geometry-type definitions. The proposed measure can be (1) efficiently used to identify feature definition patterns reflecting community consensus that could be formalised in community guidelines and (2) deployed to identify regions that would benefit from increased editorial activity to achieve greater map homogeneity. We demonstrate the measure based on the content of the OpenStreetMap database in four regions of the world and show how the proposed dataset maturity measure captures a distinct quality of the datasets, distinct to data completeness and consistency. [Termes IGN] objet géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) Airborne laser scanning data (ALS) are used mainly for creation of precise digital elevation models. However, it appears that the informative potential stored in ALS data can be also used for updating spatial databases, including the Database of Topographic Objects (BDOT10k). Typically, geometric representations of buildings in the BDOT10k are equal to their entities in the Land and Property Register (EGiB). In this study ALS is considered as supporting data source. The thresholding method of original ALS data with the use of the alpha shape algorithm, proposed in this paper, allows for extraction of points that represent horizontal cross section of building walls, leading to creation of vector, geometric models of buildings that can be then used for updating the BDOT10k. This method gives also the possibility of an easy verification of up-to-dateness of both the BDOT10k and the district EGiB databases within geometric information about buildings. For verification of the proposed methodology there have been used the classified ALS data acquired with a density of 4 points/m2. The accuracy assessment of the identified building outlines has been carried out by their comparison to the corresponding EGiB objects. The RMSE values for 78 buildings are from a few to tens of centimeters and the average value is about 0,5 m. At the same time for several objects there have been revealed huge geometric discrepancies. Further analyses have shown that these discrepancies could be resulted from incorrect representations of buildings in the EGiB database. [Termes IGN] valeur moyenneRésumé : (auteur) Linear feature matching is one of the crucial components for data conflation that sees its usefulness in updating existing data through the integration of newer data and in evaluating data accuracy. This article presents a simplified linear feature matching method to conflate historical and current road data. To measure the similarity, the shorter line median Hausdorff distance (SMHD), the absolute value of cosine similarity (aCS) of the weighted linear directional mean values, and topological relationships are adopted. The decision tree analysis is employed to derive thresholds for the SMHD and the aCS. To demonstrate the usefulness of the simple linear feature matching method, four models with incremental configurations are designed and tested: (1) Model 1: one-to-one matching based on the SMHD; (2) Model 2: matching with only the SMHD threshold; (3) Model 3: matching with the SMHD and the aCS thresholds; and (4) Model 4: matching with the SMHD, the aCS, and topological relationships. These experiments suggest that Model 2, which considers only distance, does not provide stable results, while Models 3 and 4, which consider direction and topological relationships, produce stable results with levels of accuracy around 90% and 95%, respectively. The results suggest that the proposed method is simple yet robust for linear feature matching.
