[Termes IGN] réseau routierRésumé : (Auteur) This paper addresses a popularity-aware collective keyword (PAC-K) query in road networks. Given a road network with POIs (Points of Interest), which is modeled as a road network graph, where each node locating in a two-dimensional space represents a road intersection or a POI, and each edge with weight represents a road segment, the PACK query aims to find a group of popular POIs (i.e., a popular region) that cover the query’s keywords and satisfy the distance requirements from each node to the query node and between each pair of nodes, such that the sum of rating scores over these nodes for the query keywords is maximized. We show the problem of answering the PACK query is NP-Hard. To solve this problem, we present exact and heuristic solutions on small and large road networks, respectively. In particular, to improve query performance, we propose a rating score scaling technique to reduce the search space and a redundant computation reducing technique to reduce the excessive redundant computations in query processing. Extensive performance studies using two real datasets confirm the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the proposed solutions. [Termes IGN] web mappingRésumé : (Auteur) Using Callegher's catalogue of ancient coin finds in the Trieste Province of NE Italy from the Ritrovamenti monetali di età romana nel Friuli Venezia Giulia, a spatial database of the findings (third century bce to sixth century ce) was created. The authors later developed a client side Web mapping application. All Free and Open Source Software tools were used to build both a spatial database (postgreSQL and PostGIS) and a Web mapping application (QGIS and Leaflet). The Web mapping application allows the user to find the territorial distribution of Celtic, Roman (Republican and Imperial), Byzantine, and Longobard coins. Each coin was georeferenced and linked to the denomination of the ancient coin, the authority that issued it, the coin mint, and the finding site. This project highlights not only the efficiency of the database methodology in managing numismatic data, but also the great potential of the geographic visualization process to reveal hidden relationships between the finding sites and the data connected with the ancient use of coins (e.g., ancient monetary areas, economic and commercial buffer zones, trade routes) Numéro de notice : A2017-373 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE Nature : Article DOI : 10.3138/cart.52.2.3781 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.3138/cart.52.2.3781 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=85798

[Termes IGN] infrastructure nationale des données localiséesRésumé : (Auteur) The provision of open data by governments at all levels has rapidly increased over recent years. Given that one of the dominant motivations for the provision of open data is to generate ‘value’, both economic and civic, there are valid concerns over the costs incurred in this pursuit. Typically, costs of open data are framed as internal to the data providing government. Building on the strong history of GIScience research on data provision via spatial data infrastructures, this article considers both the direct and indirect costs of open data provision, framing four main areas of indirect costs: citizen participation challenges, uneven provision across geography and user types, subsidy of private sector activities, and the creation of inroads for corporate influence on government. These areas of indirect cost lead to the development of critical questions, including constituency, purpose, enablement, protection, and priorities. These questions are posed as a guide to governments that provide open data in addressing the indirect costs of open data.
