[Termes IGN] point de fuiteRésumé : (Auteur) Camera calibration is a fundamental task in photogrammetry and computer vision. This paper presents an approach for the automatic estimation of interior orientation from images with three vanishing points of orthogonal directions. Extraction of image line segments and their clustering into groups corresponding to three dominant vanishing points are performed without any human interaction. Camera parameters (camera constant, location of principal point, and two coefficients of radial lens distortion) and the vanishing points are estimated in a one-step adjustment of all participating image points. The approach may function in a single image mode, but is also capable of handling input from independent images (i.e. images not necessarily of the same object) with three and/or two vanishing points in a common solution. The reported experimental tests indicate that, within certain limits, results from single images compare satisfactorily with those from multi-image bundle adjustment. [Termes IGN] topographie localeRésumé : (Auteur) Nowadays, mini UAV-systems receive more and more attention as photogrammetric image acquisition systems. Since mini UAVs are low cost systems, namely model helicopters or airplanes, the potential of various applications is very high. Therefore, in the paper a simplified workflow for photogrammetric processing of model helicopter imagery is described. Further on, two applications, which were conducted in the last two years at IGP (Institute of Geodesy and Photogrammetry), are presented in the paper. First the documentation of an archaeological site will be introduced and second a project dealing with the generation of an elevation model of a maize field is described. The results of the projects have shown that images taken with mini UAVs are well suited for an efficient documentation of small sites in a short time. [Termes IGN] méthode itérative de Newton-Raphson
[Termes IGN] relèvement
[Termes IGN] relèvement photogrammétriqueRésumé : (Auteur) Three-point resection in photogrammetry (based on measured distances between three object points and the corresponding image coordinates) has been a viable approach because it does not require data on the object coordinates. Many iterative and closed-form solutions of the problem have been developed. The problem may have up to four solutions for the distances between the exposure station and the objects. Due to the complexity of the closed-form solutions, a simple method involving Newton-Raphson (N-R) search has recently been suggested for determining the unique (correct) solution for the Grunert's quartic polynomial. The N-R method, however, may not converge to the unique solution. This paper first describes the geometry of the three-point resection and the difficulties with the N-R method. A new Excel-based method that identifies all four solutions of the quartic polynomial is then presented. The method does not require initial estimates of the roots. Situations in which the N-R method is useful are highlighted. Application examples are used to illustrate the issues and concepts addressed. The proposed method, which provides insights into space resection, should be of interest to both researchers and educators.
