As a result, a high-spatial-resolution HSI is reconstructed based on the high spectral features of the HSI represented by endmembers and the high spatial features of the MS image represented by abundances. Since the number of endmembers extracted from the MS image cannot exceed the number of bands in least-squares-based spectral unmixing algorithm, large reconstruction errors will occur for the HSI, which degrades the fusion performance of the enhanced HSI. Therefore, in this paper, a novel fusion framework is also proposed by dividing the whole image into several subimages, based on which the performance of the proposed spectral-unmixing-based fusion algorithm can be further improved. Finally, experiments on the Hyperspectral Digital Imagery Collection Experiment and Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer data demonstrate that the proposed fusion algorithms outperform other famous fusion techniques in both spatial and spectral domains. [Termes IGN] volcanRésumé : (auteur) Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) is a powerful tool to monitor large-scale ground deformation at active volcanoes. However, vegetation and pyroclastic deposits degrade the radar coherence and therefore the measurement of 3-D surface displacements. In this article, we explore the complementarity between ALOS–PALSAR coherence images, airborne LiDAR data and in situ measurements acquired over the Piton de La Fournaise volcano (Reunion Island, France) to determine the sources of errors that may affect repeat-pass InSAR measurements. We investigate three types of surfaces: terrains covered with vegetation, lava flows (a′a, pahoehoe or slabby pahoehoe lava flows) and pyroclastic deposits (lapilli). To explain the loss of coherence observed over the Dolomieu crater between 2008 and 2009, we first use laser altimetry data to map topographic variations. The LiDAR intensity, which depends on surface reflectance, also provides ancillary information about the potential sources of coherence loss. In addition, surface roughness and rock dielectric properties of each terrain have been determined in situ to better understand how electromagnetic waves interact with such media: rough and porous surfaces, such as the a′a lava flows, produce a higher coherence loss than smoother surfaces, such as the pahoehoe lava flows. Variations in dielectric properties suggest a higher penetration depth in pyroclasts than in lava flows at L-band frequency. Decorrelation over the lapilli is hence mainly caused by volumetric effects. Finally, a map of LAI (Leaf Area Index) produced using SPOT 5 imagery allows us to quantify the effect of vegetation density: radar coherence is negatively correlated with LAI and is unreliable for values higher than 7.5. [Termes IGN] Viet NamRésumé : (auteur) This study employed image enhancement for LANDSAT TM and ALOS imagery to monitor the changing status of coastal resources from 2001 to 2011, object-based classification of high-resolution THEOS imagery to extract fish cage culture sites and interpolation methods to determine marine environmental quality in 2011 in the northern part of Phu Quoc Island. There were five classes in the study site: natural forest, Melaleuca forest, agriculture, peat and built-up areas. Agricultural land and Melaleuca forest changing into built-up areas constituted approximately 51.13% of the total area changing. The benthic seagrass habitat increased dramatically from 2001 to the end of 2010. Besides, marine culture has been concerned to cage culture which is one of the sources directly affecting aquatic life and water quality in coastal environment. Cage culture locations were detected using high-resolution imagery as THEOS data for image fusion and Object-based Image Analysis methods. Water quality criteria including nitrogen, phosphorus and chlorophyll-a concentrations were determined by interpolation method, and the spatial distribution of these parameters showed a concentration in the study area in the range from 0.17 to 0.49 mg/L, 0.012 to 0.073 mg/L and 0.26 to 1.046 μg/L, respectively. [Termes IGN] sous-boisRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, we propose a decision tree algorithm to characterize spatial extent and spectral features of invasive plant species (i.e., guava, Madagascar cardamom, and Molucca raspberry) in tropical rainforests by integrating datasets from passive and active remote sensing sensors. The decision tree algorithm is based on a number of input variables including matching score and infeasibility images from Mixture Tuned Matched Filtering (MTMF), land-cover maps, tree height information derived from high resolution stereo imagery, polarimetric feature images, Radar Forest Degradation Index (RFDI), polarimetric and InSAR coherence and phase difference images. Spatial distributions of the study organisms are mapped using pixel-based Winner-Takes-All (WTA) algorithm, object oriented feature extraction, spectral unmixing, and compared with the newly developed decision tree approach. Our results show that the InSAR phase difference and PolInSAR HH–VV coherence images of L-band PALSAR data are the most important variables following the MTMF outputs in mapping subcanopy invasive plant species in tropical rainforest. We also show that the three types of invasive plants alone occupy about 17.6% of the Betampona Nature Reserve (BNR) while mixed forest, shrubland and grassland areas are summed to 11.9% of the reserve. This work presents the first systematic attempt to evaluate forest degradation, habitat quality and invasive plant statistics in the BNR, and provides significant insights as to management strategies for the control of invasive plants and conversation in the reserve. [Termes IGN] occupation du solRésumé : (Auteur) Elevation error in the Intermap X-band airborne Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar dtm data set is defined in a 260-hectare mixed land-cover area using external dual-frequency GPS and bare-earth lidar point-cloud validation data. Absolute elevation error is reported globally, and within land-cover classes characterized by distinctive vegetation canopy densities and depths that are considered to have the potential to affect X-band dtm elevation error in distinctive ways. Observed global and land-cover specific elevation errors are subsequently compared with an external study where land-cover dependent errors were quantified within four lidar data sets that overlapped the IFSAR DTM validation area. The results of these absolute and comparative results are subse-quently used to make recommendations regarding the poten-tial of Intermap bare-earth IFSAR DTM data in environmental modeling applications elsewhere, and the scope for using the data in conjunction with, and as an alternative to airborne lidar data is discussed.
