[Termes IGN] télédétection en hyperfréquenceRésumé : (auteur) The current period is characterized by an abundance of free access radar data, the use of which is encouraged and facilitated by space agencies, the latter providing free software for image processing and analysis to users. At the same time, several academic or institutional sites offer explanatory resources (courses, software tutorials) on general or targeted topics intended to facilitate the use of images in most fields of application. In this paper, we wish to address and detail a particular point ; that of the physical concept of the radar measurement, through the various software processing proposed during a sequence of georeferencing-calibration of the images. This sequence, which combines geometrical and radiometric aspects, is found for applications relating to the characterization of the various media present on the surface of the ground or to facilitate the analysis of temporal sequences. After presenting the general aspects related to the power measured at the sensor and the various factors influencing this measurement, we will focus on the user practice, by discussing the different choices of coefficients )3 °, y°, offered during a calibration following a geo-referencing, as well as on the taking into account, or not, slope effects in geometric and radiometric corrections affecting the image. Particular attention is paid to the coefficient 7° whose variations as a function of local incidence are considered very low in the case of dense forests. [Termes IGN] modèle géométrique de prise de vueRésumé : (Auteur) A light field camera can capture both radiance and angular information, providing a novel solution for depth estimation. The paper proposes two improved methods including distortion model optimization and depth estimation refinement for a lenslet light field camera. For distortion model optimization, a novel 14-parameter distortion model that involves sub-aperture images generation is applied to correct the light field camera images. For depth estimation refinement, an algorithm reducing the high influence of outliers on depth estimation in weak texture regions is proposed based on multi-view stereo matching using the cost volume. Experimental results show the projection error has decreased by about 30% and the depth root-mean-squared error on real world images has decreased by about 42% with our distortion correction method and depth estimation method compared with state of art algorithms. It verifies the correctness and effectiveness of our proposed methods and show significant improvement on accuracy of depth map estimation. [Termes IGN] zone ruraleRésumé : (auteur) Rural building mapping is paramount to support demographic studies and plan actions in response to crisis that affect those areas. Rural building annotations exist in OpenStreetMap (OSM), but their quality and quantity are not sufficient for training models that can create accurate rural building maps. The problems with these annotations essentially fall into three categories: (i) most commonly, many annotations are geometrically misaligned with the updated imagery; (ii) some annotations do not correspond to buildings in the images (they are misannotations or the buildings have been destroyed); and (iii) some annotations are missing for buildings in the images (the buildings were never annotated or were built between subsequent image acquisitions). First, we propose a method based on Markov Random Field (MRF) to align the buildings with their annotations. The method maximizes the correlation between annotations and a building probability map while enforcing that nearby buildings have similar alignment vectors. Second, the annotations with no evidence in the building probability map are removed. Third, we present a method to detect non-annotated buildings with predefined shapes and add their annotation. The proposed methodology shows considerable improvement in accuracy of the OSM annotations for two regions of Tanzania and Zimbabwe, being more accurate than state-of-the-art baselines. [Termes IGN] station permanenteRésumé : (auteur) Mass redistribution of the atmosphere, oceans, and terrestrial water storage generates crustal displacements which can be predicted by environmental loading models and observed by the Global Positioning System (GPS). In this paper, daily height time series of 235 GPS stations derived from a homogeneously reprocessed Crustal Movement Observation Network of China (CMONOC) and corresponding loading displacements predicted by the Deutsche GeoForschungsZentrum (GFZ) are compared to assess the effects of loading corrections on the nonlinear variations of GPS time series. Results show that the average root mean square (RMS) of vertical displacements due to atmospheric, nontidal oceanic, hydrological, and their combined effects are 3.2, 0.6, 2.7, and 4.0 mm, respectively. Vertical annual signals of loading and GPS are consistent in amplitude but different in phase systematically. The average correlation coefficient between loading and GPS height time series is 0.6. RMS of the GPS height time series are reduced by 20% on average. Moreover, an investigation of 208 CMONOC stations with observing time spans of ~4.6 years shows that environmental loading corrections lead to an overestimation of the GPS velocity uncertainty by about 1.4 times on average. Nevertheless, by using a common mode component filter through principal component analysis, the dilution of velocity precision due to environmental loading corrections can be compensated. [Termes IGN] système d'information urbainIndex. décimale : PROJET Mémoires : Rapports de projet - stage des ingénieurs de 2e année Résumé : (auteur) In the cities, the underground networks system become more and more dense because of the
occupation of many infrastructures for water, storm-water, sewer, electricity, gas, etc. Urban and ecological problems can be faced thanks to them. However, they are difficult to manage because of the impossibility of seeing them. The location of existing infrastructures is a necessity for controlling their development. Converting from CAD to GIS may improve the CAD drawings with spatial information and attributes and allows a better accessibility, accuracy and performance [Warner, 2013]. The Geographic Information System (GIS) implementation process for municipalities can be very complex, expensive, and time consuming, depending on the knowledge of municipalities. Maps of underground infrastructure systems are mainly stored in paper or CAD format and many cities and organizations around the world are putting significant efforts into converting those maps into GIS format. However, most of these efforts are uncoordinated and a formal protocol is missing to deal with GIS map update and version control. During this internship, it was asked to survey current practices in the world and develop a formal protocol to convert and manage GIS maps of underground infrastructure systems. The project required a technical expertise (to account for the potentials and limits of GIS) and specific knowledge about underground infrastructure systems. I had to survey current efforts in the world to convert and manage underground maps mainly thanks to a survey of municipalities and through online searches. Then developed a formal protocol illustrated by a general flowchart that should offer a streamlined strategy to ensure effective conversion from CAD to GIS and allows a better data management. The project resulted in a scientific publication. These works allowed me to develop GIS, Python, communication and writing skills in English.Note de contenu : Introduction
