[Termes IGN] WebSIGRésumé : (Auteur) In the State Archive of Como, Northern Italy, about 15,000 historical maps belonging to different national cadastral productions are preserved. The Web C.A.R.T.E. project was started to enhance the accessibility of this valuable cartographic heritage using FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) technologies. The system, which implements specific web geoservices for cataloguing and visualization, should assist the State Archive of Como in the digital management of its cartographic resources and related information. After the high-resolution digitization step, maps undergo a georeferencing operation. A special statistical procedure for choosing the best mathematical model was developed, verifying also strengths and weaknesses of georeferencing with a common free and Open Source GIS. Next, metadata consistent with current Italian standards were added to the georeferenced maps using an ad hoc localized version of GeoNetwork Opensource (recently provided as the official Italian version of the software). A dedicated WebGIS system was built for publishing the georeferenced cadastral maps. This system is capable of navigating large raster data in a georeferenced framework and easily retrieving their metadata. The WebGIS system for the State Archive of Como is an important contribution for the preservation of the original historical paper maps and also a great modernization and simplification of the end user's access to this archive. Dans tous les cas, le site en question, avec ses 392 mètres de profondeur, est la cavité karstique la plus profonde connue. Ce site, peu connu malgré sa proximité de Rome, n'a été jusqu'ici mesuré que de manière expéditive, les particularités morphologiques de la zone n'ayant pas permis un levé rigoureux des caractéristiques topographiques et géomorphologiques. [Termes IGN] séismeRésumé : (Auteur) De récentes publications ont mis en évidence la façon dont les outils de détection de changement et de classification multi-spectrale pouvaient permettre d'identifier les dégâts post-sismiques (Ajmar et al. 2010). Les principaux algorithmes de détection de changement n'arrivent cependant pas toujours à identifier correctement les édifices endommagés, soit que le toit présente une radiométrie très proche de celle du sol, causant une erreur de classification, soit que la radiométrie du bâtiment écroulé ne diffère que très peu de celle du bâtiment intact. Dans cet article, nous étudions l'apport, à côté de la détection de changement et de la classification multi-spectrale, de l'analyse d'un MNT extrait d'images satellites à (très) haute résolution. Dans cette étude, l'approche mixte détection de changement/ analyse du MNT a été appliquée à l'analyse des dommages consécutifs au séisme de l'Aquila (Abruzzes). Le MNT de la zone test a été obtenu en corrélant deux images du satellite Eros-B qui, à proprement parler, ne constituent pas une vraie paire stéréoscopique, maïs, quoique prises à des instants différents, possèdent chacune une géométrie particulière qui permet de recréer les informations de relief (que nous appellerons paire pseudo-stéréoscopique) ; la classification s'est effectuée à partir d'une image multi-spectrale à huit bandes issue du satellite WorldView 2. Enfin, pour minimiser les « fausses détections » et les « effets de bord », un MNT limité aux toits des édifices a été extrait de la cartographie numérique. Ce travail reste expérimental, mais identifie clairement les avantages de cette approche pluridisciplinaire. Pizzalto forest in the Central-Apennines in Italy, the moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) vegetation index data (NDVI and EVI) were used in combination with field data. Biotic and abiotic parameters (slope angle, slope gradient, elevation, seasonal incoming solar radiation, length of growing season (LGS), soil type and forest management type) has been used in the modelling. NDVI and EVI values of field samples were extracted and used to estimate the LGS of beech forest for the six year period (2005-2010). Two management types, old-growth forest and young forest, showed average AGB and CS-AGB were 247 and 123 tons.ha-1 respectively in 2010 comparable to values for beech forests in the Apennines and Europe. LGS and management are the significant variables in a linear regression model for CS - AGB. Therefore, the forest authority can manage the young forest as sinks of carbon in agreement with the Kyoto protocol of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
