[Termes IGN] système de numérisation mobileRésumé : (Auteur) The rapid acquisition techniques of over- and under-water geoinformation is urgently needed. The Shipborne Over- and Under-water integrated Mobile Mapping System (SiOUMMS) applies plug-in and multi-process network technology to achieve integrated data acquisition and cooperative control of multi-sensors, such as Global Navigation Satellite System, Inertial Measurement Unit, laser scanner, and multi-beam echo sounder. The proposed system can meet the requirements of diverse application scenarios and sensors, allowing for flexibility and scalability. Meanwhile, coarse calibration based on a set of common points and fine calibration using the plane feature constraint are proposed for integratedly obtaining the exterior orientation elements of the laser scanner and the multi-beam echo sounder. Together, these methods provide theoretical support and technical help to the seamless integration of over- and under-water point clouds. Experiments are also described, proving that the root mean square error of over-water point clouds is 0.133 m, the average elevation clearance spacing between adjacent over- and under-water point clouds is less than 0.3 m, and the average horizontal clearance spacing is less than 0.2 m. At the same time, cases in this paper show that SiOUMMS has made important achievements in the integrated measurement of reefs, coastal zone, and inland waterways, and has broad prospects for future applications. [Termes IGN] qualité des donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) Comparisons between optical clocks with an accuracy and stability approaching the 10-18 in term of relative frequency shift are opening new perspectives for the direct determination of geopotential at a centimeter-level accuracy in geoid height. However, so far detailed quantitative estimates of the possible improvement in geoid determination when adding such clock measurements to existing data are lacking. In this context, the present work aims at evaluating the contribution of this new kind of direct measurements in determining the geopotential at high spatial resolution (10 km). We consider the Massif Central area, marked by smooth, moderate altitude mountains and volcanic plateaus leading to variations of the gravitational field over a range of spatial scales. In such type of region, the scarcity of gravity data is an important limitation in deriving accurate high resolution geopotential models. We summarize our methodology to assess the contribution of clock data in the geopotential recovery, in combination with ground gravity measurements. We sample synthetic gravity and disturbing potential data from a spherical harmonics geopotential model, and a topography model, up to 10 km resolution; we also build a potential control grid. From the synthetic data, we estimate the disturbing potential by least-squares collocation. Finally, we assess the quality of the reconstructed potential by comparing it to that of the control grid. We show that adding only a few clock data reduces the reconstruction bias significantly and improves the standard deviation by a factor 3. We discuss the role of different parameters, such as the effect of the data coverage and data quality on these results, the trade-off between the measurement noise level and the number of data, and the optimization of the clock data network. [Termes IGN] niveau moyen des mersRésumé : (Auteur) This paper discusses the differences between mean tide level (MTL) and mean sea level (MSL) as demonstrated using information from a global tide gauge data set. The roles of the two main contributors to differences between MTL and MSL (the M4 harmonic of the M2 semidiurnal tide, and the combination of the diurnal tides K1 and O1) are described, with a particular focus on the spatial scales of variation in MTL–MSL due to each contributor. Findings from the tide gauge data set are contrasted with those from a state-of-the-art global tide model. The study is of interest within tidal science, but also has practical importance regarding the type of mean level used to define land survey datums. In addition, an appreciation of MTL–MSL difference is important in the use of the historical sea level data used in climate change research, with implications for some of the data stored in international databanks. Particular studies are made of how MTL and MSL might differ through the year, and if MTL is measured in daylight hours only, as has been the practice of some national geodetic agencies on occasions in the past. [Termes IGN] positionnement par ITGBRésumé : (auteur) The ITRF2014 realization (most recent frame of the International Terrestrial Reference System) computed by the ITRS product Centre (Geodesy Research Laboratory at IGN) is the result of the reference frames combination from four space geodesy techniques (i.e. GNSS, DORIS, SLR et VLBI). One way to achieve one common frame consists in adding to the combination results from co-located sites local tie surveys. The magnetic observatory in St. John’s (Canada) is equipped with a DORIS station, several permanent GNSS stations and geodetic marks tied with the former mobile VLBI station. Finally, a tide gauge set a few kilometres apart has been tied. This report describes the local tie survey carried out on July 2013 in St. John’s and the associated results.
