[Termes IGN] segmentation sémantiqueRésumé : (auteur) Surface drainage at the neighborhood and street scales plays an important role in conveying stormwater and mitigating urban flooding. Surface drainage at the local scale is often ignored due to the lack of up-to-date fine-scale topographical information. This paper addresses this issue by providing a novel method for evaluating surface drainage at the neighborhood and street scales based on mobile lidar (light detection and ranging) measurements. The developed method derives topographical properties and runoff accumulation by applying a semantic segmentation (SS) model (a computer vision technique) and a flow direction model (a hydrology technique) to lidar data. Fifty lidar images representing 50 street blocks were used to train, validate, and test the SS model. Based on the test dataset, the SS model has 80.3% IoU and 88.5% accuracy. The results suggest that the proposed method can effectively evaluate surface drainage conditions at both the neighborhood and street scales and identify problematic low points that could be susceptible to water ponding. Municipalities and property owners can use this information to take targeted corrective maintenance actions. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) This paper describes a deep-learning-based unsupervised forest height estimation method based on the synergy of the high-resolution L-band repeat-pass Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (PolInSAR) and low-resolution large-footprint full-waveform Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data. Unlike traditional PolInSAR-based methods, the proposed method reformulates the forest height inversion as a pan-sharpening process between the low-resolution LiDAR height and the high-resolution PolSAR and PolInSAR features. A tailored Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) called PolGAN with one generator and dual (coherence and spatial) discriminators is proposed to this end, where a progressive pan-sharpening strategy underpins the generator to overcome the significant difference between spatial resolutions of LiDAR and SAR-related inputs. Forest height estimates with high spatial resolution and vertical accuracy are generated through a continuous generative and adversarial process. UAVSAR PolInSAR and LVIS LiDAR data collected over tropical and boreal forest sites are used for experiments. Ablation study is conducted over the boreal site evidencing the superiority of the progressive generator with dual discriminators employed in PolGAN (RMSE: 1.21 m) in comparison with the standard generator with dual discriminators (RMSE: 2.43 m) and the progressive generator with a single coherence (RMSE: 2.74 m) or spatial discriminator (RMSE: 5.87 m). Besides that, by reducing the dependency on theoretical models and utilizing the shape, texture, and spatial information embedded in the high-spatial-resolution features, the PolGAN method achieves an RMSE of 2.37 m over the tropical forest site, which is much more accurate than the traditional PolInSAR-based Kapok method (RMSE: 8.02 m). Thus, the problems of using traditional detection methods in inaccessible areas can be avoided. This study focuses on practical solutions for receiving echo signals, identifying target echoes, and integrating land and underwater terrain point cloud data in coastal environments. Optimization of the system design and its data processing scheme is undertaken to improve the performance of the receiving system based on a single-band ALB system developed by the authors at Shenzhen University. A flight experiment over eastern Hainan Island was conducted, during which the effectiveness of the proposed strategy was verified. Finally, the technical characteristics of the self-developed system are summarized to provide a reliable reference source for the subsequent industrialization and production of related marine light detection and ranging (LiDAR) laser systems. To achieve precise positioning, accuracy of the LEO clocks is important for single-receiver users. To bridge the gap between the applicable time of the clock products and the time of positioning, the precise LEO clocks need to be predicted over a certain period depending on the sampling interval of the clock products. This study discusses the prediction errors for periods from 10 s to 1 h for two typical LEO clock types, i.e. the ultra-stable oscillator (USO) and the oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO). The prediction is based on GNSS-determined precise clock estimates, where the clock stability is related to the GNSS estimation errors, the behaviors of the oscillators themselves, the systematic effects related to the environment and the relativistic effects, and the stability of the time reference. Based on real data analysis, LEO clocks of the two different types are simulated under different conditions, and a prediction model considering the systematic effects is proposed. Compared to a simple polynomial fitting model usually applied, the proposed model can significantly reduce the prediction errors, i.e. by about 40%-70% in simulations and about 5%-30% for real data containing different miss-modeled effects. For both clock types, short-term prediction of 1 min would result in a root mean square error (RMSE) of a few centimeters when using a very stable time reference. The RMSE amounts to about 0.1 m, when a typical real-time time reference of the national center for space studies (CNES) real-time clocks was used. For long-term prediction of 1 h, the RMSE could range from below 1 m to a few meters for the USOs, depending on the complexity of the miss-modeled effects. For OCXOs, the 1 h prediction could lead to larger errors with an RMSE of about 10 m. With the advance of Mobile LiDAR System (MLS), massive point clouds have been applied in three-dimensional digital city modelling. However, traffic signs in MLS point clouds are low density, colourless and incomplete. This paper presents a new method for the reconstruction of vertical rectangle traffic sign point clouds based on panoramic images. In this method, traffic sign point clouds are extracted based on arc feature and spatial semantic features analysis. Traffic signs in images are detected by colour and shape features and a convolutional neural network. Traffic sign point cloud and images are registered based on outline features. Finally, traffic sign points match traffic sign pixels to reconstruct the traffic sign point cloud. Experimental results have demonstrated that this proposed method can effectively obtain colourful and complete traffic sign point clouds with high resolution.
