[Termes IGN] télémétrie laser mobileRésumé : (Auteur) Poor GNSS measurements in urban areas caused by blocked GNSS signals and multi-path is a well-known problem, which leads to an inaccurate trajectory estimation of Mobile Laser Scanning (MLS) platforms. Consequently, the MLS point cloud contains positioning errors. This paper presents a new method for the automatic extraction of accurate 3D tie points for the trajectory adjustment of MLS platforms in GNSS denied or troubled areas. The new method relies on aerial imagery as a reliable external source of reference provided that accurate exterior orientation parameters are available. Accordingly, one of the main objectives is to register the mobile laser scanning point cloud with corresponding aerial images. The matches between aerial images are used to obtain 3D tie points by forward intersection. By also determining the corresponding locations in the point cloud we obtain a 3D-3D correspondence between the MLS point cloud and the aerial images. In the future, the obtained 3D-3D correspondences will be used for trajectory adjustment. Our automatic tie point extraction procedure is tested on two independent MLS point clouds. The point clouds were acquired by two different platforms in Rotterdam. The aerial imagery of the same area was acquired at a different time. We evaluated the matching results for both datasets and concluded that the new procedure reliably extracted the 3D tie points for 55% of the tiles of the size of 90 m from the first MLS dataset. In the second dataset, 60% of the tiles of size 74 m yielded reliable 3D tie points. It is not necessary to successfully register all tiles because the results of this work will be used for the trajectory adjustment and the IMU can reliably support the positioning for small intervals. [Termes IGN] variance d'AllanRésumé : (auteur) During 2016–2018, satellite metadata/information including antenna parameters, attitude laws and physical characteristics such as mass, dimensions and optical properties were released for Galileo and QZSS (except for the QZS-1 optical coefficients). These metadata are critical for improving the accuracy of precise orbit and clock determination. In this contribution, we evaluate the benefits of these new metadata to orbit and clock in three aspects: the phase center offsets and variations (PCO and PCV), the yaw-attitude model and solar radiation pressure (SRP) model. The updating of Galileo PCO and PCV corrections, from the values estimated by Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt and Deutsches GeoForschungsZentrum to the chamber calibrations disclosed by new metadata, has only a slight influence on Galileo orbits, with overlap differences within only 1 mm. By modeling the yaw attitude of Galileo satellites and QZS-2 spacecraft (SVN J002) according to new published attitude laws, the residuals of ionosphere-free carrier-phase combinations can be obviously decreased in yaw maneuver seasons. With the new attitude models, the 3D overlap RMS in eclipse seasons can be decreased from 12.3 cm, 14.7 cm, 16.8 cm and 34.7 cm to 11.7 cm, 13.4 cm, 15.8 cm and 32.9 cm for Galileo In-Orbit Validation (IOV), Full Operational Capability (FOC), FOC in elliptical orbits (FOCe) and QZS-2 satellites, respectively. By applying the a priori box-wing SRP model with new satellite dimensions and optical coefficients, the 3D overlap RMS are 5.3 cm, 6.2 cm, 5.3 cm and 16.6 cm for Galileo IOV, FOCe, FOC and QZS-2 satellites, with improvements of 11.0%, 14.7%, 14.0% and 13.8% when compared with the updated Extended CODE Orbit Model (ECOM2). The satellite laser ranging (SLR) validation reveals that the a priori box-wing model has smaller mean biases of − 0.4 cm, − 0.4 cm and 0.6 cm for Galileo FOCe, FOC and QZS-2 satellites, while a slightly larger mean bias of − 1.0 cm is observed for Galileo IOV satellites. Moreover, the SLR residual dependencies of Galileo IOV and FOC satellites on the elongation angle almost vanish when the a priori box-wing SRP model is applied. As for satellite clocks, a visible bump appears in the Modified Allan deviation at integration time of 20,000 s for Galileo Passive Hydrogen Maser with ECOM2, while it almost vanishes when the a priori box-wing SRP model and new metadata are applied. The standard deviations of clock overlap can also be significantly reduced by using new metadata. [Termes IGN] surface de l'eauRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents a comprehensive total vertical uncertainty (TVU) model for topo-bathymetric Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) systems. The TVU model consists of a combination of analytical uncertainty propagation for the subaerial (above water) portion and Monte Carlo simulation models for the subaqueous portion (water surface to seafloor). The TVU model was tested on a topo-bathymetric LIDAR data set collected by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Geodetic Survey (NGS) in Southwest Florida, U.S., in May 2016 using a Riegl VQ-880-G topo-bathymetric LIDARsystem. The TVU values were compared against the empirical standard deviation and were found to capture the variability of uncertainty with depth while providing (slightly) conservative estimates of uncertainty. The results may be used to inform data acquisition protocols and data processing models. The model implementation is now beginning to be used operationally at NGS for topo-bathymetric LIDAR projects.
