[Termes IGN] validation des donnéesRésumé : (auteur) Point-of-interest (POI) data from map sources are increasingly used in a wide range of applications, including real estate, land use, and transport planning. However, uncertainties in data quality arise from the fact that some of this data are crowdsourced and proprietary validation workflows lack transparency. Comparing data quality between POI sources without standardized validation metrics is a challenge. This study reviews and implements the available POI validation methods, working towards identifying a set of metrics that is applicable across datasets. Twenty-three validation methods were found and categorized. Most methods evaluated positional accuracy, while logical consistency and usability were the least represented. A subset of nine methods was implemented to assess four real-world POI datasets extracted for a highly urbanized neighborhood in Singapore. The datasets were found to have poor completeness with errors of commission and omission, although spatial errors were reasonably low ( Numéro de notice : A2021-830 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.3390/ijgi10110735 Date de publication en ligne : 29/10/2021 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.3390/ijgi10110735 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=98968

[Termes IGN] ontologieRésumé : (auteur) Integrating heterogeneous geospatial data sources is important in various domains like smart cities, urban planning and governance, but remains a challenging research problem. In particular, the production of high-quality integrated data from multiple sources requires an understanding of their respective characteristics and a systematic assessment of the consistency within and between the data sources. In order to perform the assessment, the data has to be placed on a common ground. However, in practice, heterogeneous geodata are often provided in diverse formats and organized in significantly different structures. In this work, we propose a framework that uses an ontology-based approach to overcome the heterogeneity by means of a domain ontology, so that consistency rules can be evaluated at the unified ontological representation of the data sources. In our case study, we use open governmental data from Open Data Portals (ODPs) and volunteered geographic information from OpenStreetMap (OSM) as two test data sources in the area of the province of South Tyrol, Italy. Our preliminary experiment shows that the approach is effective in detecting inconsistencies within and between ODP and OSM data. These findings provide valuable insights for a better combined usage of these datasets. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser terrestreRésumé : (auteur) In recent years, portable laser scanning devices and their applications in the context of forest mensuration have undergone rapid methodological and technological developments. Devices have become smaller, lighter, and more affordable, whereas new data-driven methods and software packages have facilitated the derivation of information from point clouds. Thus, terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) is now well established, and laser–object interactions have been studied using theoretical, modeling, and experimental approaches. The representation of scanned objects in terms of accuracy and completeness is a key factor for successful feature extraction. Still, little is known about the influence of TLS and survey properties on point clouds in complex scattering environments, such as forests. In this study, we investigate the influence of laser beam diameter and signal triggering on the quality of point clouds in forested environments. Based on the Swiss National Forest Inventory data, we simulate the TLS measurements in 684 virtual forest stands using a 3-D content creation suite. We show that small objects lack sufficient representation in the point cloud and they are further negatively influenced by large laser beam diameters, dense stands, and large distances from the scanning device. We provide simulations that make it possible to derive a rationale for decisions regarding the appropriate choice of TLS device and survey configuration for forest inventories.
