[Termes IGN] visualisation cartographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Given the rising availability of alternative ways of spatial data mapping, there is a growing need to study their usability. An important aspect here is the diversity of the cartographic visualizations that are used to draw conclusions about the usability of various mapping techniques. In our study we evaluated the usability of six various mapping techniques used in presenting spatial accessibility, taking into consideration four components: effectiveness and efficiency (objective criteria) and graphical attractiveness and user-perceived effectiveness (subjective criteria). Using Internet questionnaires, we conducted a graphical perception experiment with respondents performing tasks on a hypothetical monocentric road network model displayed using mapping techniques of spatial accessibility, differing in the applied parameters of graphical and non-graphical factors influencing effectiveness and efficiency. The results showed that non-graphical factors had a greater influence than the graphical factors. In total usability comparison the three-dimensional (3D) point technique was ranked the highest, while the worst result was achieved by the 3D area technique. The proposed graphical form of study results made it possible to compare the influence of various effectiveness factors, to analyze mapping techniques in terms of considered criteria and finally to present their total usability using a chart inspired by Uhorczak’s typogram. [Termes IGN] urbanismeRésumé : (Auteur) Vehicle tracking is a spatio‐temporal source of high‐granularity travel time information that can be used for transportation planning. However, it is still a challenge to combine data from heterogeneous sources into a dynamic transport network, while allowing for network modifications over time. This article uses conceptual modeling to develop multi‐temporal transport networks in geographic information systems (GIS) for accessibility studies. The proposed multi‐temporal network enables accessibility studies with different temporal granularities and from any location inside the city, resulting in a flexible tool for transport and urban planning. The implemented network is tested in two case studies that focus on socially excluded people in a large global city, São Paulo, Brazil, including accessibility analyses from slum areas. It explores variations within a day and differences between transport modes across time. Case study results indicate how the accessibility is heterogeneous in low‐income regions. In addition, urban scenes have multiple elements that interfere with pedestrian routes and navigable space. In this paper, a methodology for the direct use of point clouds for pathfinding in urban environments is presented, solving the main limitations for this purpose: (a) the excessive number of points is reduced for transformation into nodes on the final graph, (b) urban static elements acting as permanent obstacles, such as furniture and trees, are delimited and differentiated from dynamic elements such as pedestrians, (c) occlusions on ground elements are corrected to enable a complete graph modelling, and (d) navigable space is delimited from free unobstructed space according to two motor skills (pedestrians without reduced mobility and wheelchairs). The methodology is tested into three different streets sampled as point clouds by mobile laser scanning (MLS) systems: an intersection of several streets with ground composed of sidewalks at different heights; an avenue with wide sidewalks, trees and cars parked on one side; and a street with a single-lane road and narrow sidewalks. By applying Dijkstra pathfinding algorithm to the resulting graphs, the correct viability of the generated routes has been verified based on a visual analysis of the generated routes on the point cloud and on the knowledge of the urban study area. The methodology enables the automatic generation of graphs representing the navigable urban space, on which safe and real routes for different motor skills can be calculated. [Termes IGN] transportRésumé : (éditeur) Environmental health researchers have long used concepts like the neighborhood effect to assessing people's exposure to environmental influences and the associated health impact. However, these are static notions that ignore people's daily mobility at various spatial and temporal scales (e.g., daily travel, migratory movements, and movements over the life course) and the influence of neighborhood contexts outside their residential neighborhoods. Recent studies have started to incorporate human mobility, non-residential neighborhoods, and the temporality of exposures through collecting and using data from GPS, accelerometers, mobile phones, various types of sensors, and social media. Innovative approaches and methods have been developed. This Special Issue aims to showcase studies that use new approaches, methods, and data to examine the role of human mobility and non-residential contexts on human health behaviors and outcomes. It includes 21 articles that cover a wide range of topics, including individual exposure to air pollution, exposure and access to green spaces, spatial access to healthcare services, environmental influences on physical activity, food environmental and diet behavior, exposure to noise and its impact on mental health, and broader methodological issues such as the uncertain geographic context problem (UGCoP) and the neighborhood effect averaging problem (NEAP). This collection will be a valuable reference for scholars and students interested in recent advances in the concepts and methods in environmental health and health geography. Les fonctions du stagiaire ont été diverses, mais portaient principalement sur l’étude de l’accessibilité au logement en France par le Big Data en utilisant le Webscraping et l’analyse spatiale dans le cadre d’un projet européen. La première partie du stage a été consacrée principalement à répondre aux besoins du projet, pour ensuite aborder plus librement les données collectées et les processus appliquées en orientant le stage sur les bonnes pratiques, les opportunités mais aussi les limites du webscraping et de l’analyse spatiale sous R et Python.
