Note de contenu : - Les sources de données

Atmospheric radiosondes were launched at the test site around the satellite overpasses. Field-emissivity measurements of the near-full-vegetated rice crops were also performed. Seven concurrences of Landsat-7 and ground data were obtained in July and August 2004-2007. The ground measurements were used with the MODTRAN-4 radiative transfer model to simulate at-sensor radiances and brightness temperatures, which were compared with the calibrated ETM+ observations over the test site. For the cases analyzed here, the differences between the simulated and ETM+ brightness temperatures show an average bias of 0.6 K and a rootmean-square difference (rmsd) of + 0.8 K. The ground-based measurements were also used for the validation of LSTs derived from ETM+ at-sensor radiances with atmospheric correction calculated from the following: 1) the local-radiosonde profiles and 2) the operational atmospheric-correction tool available at http://atmcorr.gsfc.nasa.gov. For the first case, the differences between the ground and satellite LSTs ranged from -0.6 to 1.4 K, with a mean bias of 0.7 K and an rmsd = +1.0 K. For the second case, the differences ranged between -1.8 and 1.3 K, with a zero average bias and an rmsd = +1.1 K. Although the validation cases are few and limited to one land cover at morning and summer, results show the good LST accuracy that can be achieved with ETM+ thermal data. [Termes IGN] rayonnement proche infrarougeRésumé : (Auteur) The Advanced Land Observing Satellite [(ALOS); nicknamed ldquoDaichirdquo] was successfully launched on January 24, 2006, and it continues to work very well. This paper describes the calibrations of two optical instruments onboard ALOS, which are the Panchromatic Remote-sensing Instrument for Stereo Mapping (PRISM) and Advanced Visible and Near-Infrared Radiometer type 2 (AVNIR-2). PRISM consists of three panchromatic radiometers and is used to derive a digital surface model (DSM) with high spatial resolution, which is an objective of the ALOS mission. AVNIR-2 has four radiometric bands from blue to near infrared, which are used for investigating regional environment issues such as land-use and land-cover classifications, and disaster monitoring. In this paper, we introduce the calibration and validation plan, methodologies, accuracy assessments of the standard products, image quality evaluations for PRISM and AVNIR-2, and their results. Geometric calibration is important in generating a precise DSM by a stereo pair image of PRISM. The relative geometric calibrations of both PRISM and AVNIR-2 are conducted by evaluating accuracies within one scene and evaluating sensor alignments as absolute calibration. For absolute geometric accuracies, we achieved 8.1 m for nadir-looking images and 9.3 m for forward- and backward-looking images of PRISM; we also achieved 114.2 m for AVNIR-2. PRISM is also radiometrically calibrated both relatively and absolutely. PRISM relative radiometric calibration is accomplished by using acquired images over homogeneous targets, such as oceans, deserts, ice, and snow areas, as well as nighttime observation. Simultaneously observed images with calibrated AVNIR-2 are used for absolute radiometric calibration by cross-calibration. The absolute radiometric accuracy of the PRISM nadir-looking radiometer is similar to that of AVNIR-2. [Termes IGN] RussieRésumé : (Auteur) Investigations with the use of IR satellite maps were conducted on parts of the Baikal Rift Zone (BRZ, East Siberia, Russia), the Tarim platform (north-west China), the San Andreas transform-fault, the Great Basin (western part of the USA), the Afar depression (north-east Africa) and the Rhine graben (west Germany). It has been determined that the localized IR-radiation correlates with geophysical parameters, locations of hot water springs and geochemical anomalies. High intensity of the outgoing ground-based IR flow, which is registered by the ASs, is spatially localized on the surface of seismo-active faults and tectogenic slopes, which are formed in the zone of dynamic influence of the fault ZDIF. The outgoing surface IR flow depends on the state of the active ground layer due to the drift of thermodynamic temperature for the area observed from ASs. The identified value of the flow, which is independent of it, represent quasi-steady IR flow Iconst Quasi-steady IR flows of faults are identified by minima of seasonal increments in the IR domain, make 85.46 + 112.24 MW/m2.ster./tm and correspond to their proper surface IR radiation. Mathematical investigations allow one to identify low-frequency oscillations having the length of the geometric wave equal to 94.23 km, the amplitude being about 2.2 MW/m2.ster./um. The complete power of the outgoing surface flow of IR-radiation corresponds to the power of its low-frequency component. The valuable powers of the flow for the high-frequency domain are bound up with the geometric wavelength being not less than 20 km.
