[Termes IGN] stratosphèreRésumé : (Auteur) Aura, the last of the large Earth Observing System observatories, was launched on July 15, 2004. Aura is designed to make comprehensive stratospheric and tropospheric composition measurements from its four instruments, the High Resolution Dynamics Limb Sounder (HIRDLS), the Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS), the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI), and the Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer (TES). With the exception of HIRDLS, all of the instruments are performing as expected, and HIRDLS will likely be able to deliver most of their planned data products. We summarize the mission, instruments, and synergies in this paper. The GPS position, based on the C/A code, nowadays has a precision of approximately 5-20 meters. With the P code, more precise results can be achieved (1-5 meters). The difference in precision between C/A and P code is largely due to the length of the code and the broadcasting of the P code on two frequencies. There are however a number of error sources that influence the precision of the GPS position and which can degrade the position with meters. This article will give a brief overview of a number of large errors sources that can influence the position determination. Copyright Geoinformatics. [Termes IGN] température de surfaceRésumé : (Auteur) Coal fire has been found to be a serious problem worldwide in coal mining processes. Coal fire burns valuable coal reserve and prevents access to proven reserve in the affected area. Moreover, it leads to severe environmental degradation of the region by an overall increase of the ambient atmospheric temperature, by the emission of obnoxious gases (e.g., SO2, NO, CO, CH4) along fissures and cracks and by causing land subsidence and collapse. Jharia Coalfield, Jharkhand, India, is known for being the exclusive storehouse of prime coking coal as well as for hosting the maximum number of known coal fires among all the coalfields in the country. In this paper, some of the important issues of coal fire mapping from satellite thermal IR data have been addressed in particular reference to Jharia Coalfield. Namely, these are: retrieval of true spectral radiance from raw digital data using scene-specific calibration coefficients of the detectors, thermal emissivity of surface materials to obtain kinetic temperature at each ground resolution cell of satellite data, field-based modelling of pixel-integrated temperature for differentiating surface and subsurface fire pixels in Landsat TM thermal IR data, identification of surface coal fire locations from reflected IR data and lateral propagation of coal fire. [Termes IGN] température de surfaceRésumé : (Auteur) According to the reflectance spectra of various materials, this paper mainly studies the relations between inherent features indicated by different combinations of characteristic spectral bands and surface temperature for five land surface cover types in the Shanghai area. On the basis of above-analysis results, we used the built optimum regression models to retrieve surface temperature, and then the precision and feasibility of the correlation method were evaluated. Results show that a clear and high correlativity exists between characteristic spectral bands and surface temperature. The maximum error is about 2.0 K by using correlation models to estimate urban land surface temperature, and main error of retrieved temperature results from mistakenly classification and existent mixture pixels. This indicates that characteristic spectral bands can be used as a modulating parameter for the estimation of surface temperature.
