[Termes IGN] TerrascanRésumé : (auteur) L’optimisation de la production des livrables topographiques (plans topographiques vectoriels, extraction de données métier, etc.) en milieu ferroviaire constitue aujourd’hui un enjeu important pour Altametris, filiale de SNCF Réseau. En effet, si les méthodes de levé actuelles par LiDAR et photogrammétrie permettent d’acquérir rapidement de grandes quantités de données, leur traitement est complexe et long et nécessite des optimisations. Cette étude s’inscrit dans le cadre des recherches d’automatisation de ces procédures et plus précisément dans la phase de report des données. Les travaux réalisés ont permis d’établir un bilan de la chaîne de traitement mise en place et d’en identifier les points à améliorer. Une nouvelle méthode de report automatisée a été testée, les techniques d’extraction et de contrôle d’un logiciel de report développé en interne optimisées et le processus de traitement établi et validé. Most of these geospatial data are available as structured and semi‐structured datasets, and often use distinct data models, are encoded using ad‐hoc vocabularies, and sometimes are being published in non‐standard formats. Hence, these data are isolated within silos and cannot be shared and integrated across organizations and communities. Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs) have emerged and contributed to significantly enhance data discovery and accessibility based on OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) Web services. However, finding, accessing, and using data disseminated through SDIs are still difficult for non‐expert users. Overcoming the current geospatial data challenges involves adopting the best practices to expose, share, and integrate data on the Web, that is, Linked Data. In this article, we have developed a framework for generating, enriching, and exploiting geospatial Linked Data from multiple and heterogeneous geospatial data sources. This proposal allows connecting two interoperability universes (SDIs, more specifically Web Feature Services, WFS, and Semantic Web technologies), which is evaluated through a study case in the (geo)biodiversity domain. [Termes IGN] voxelRésumé : (auteur) Recent advances in time geography offer new perspectives for studying animal movements and interactions in an environmental context. In particular, the ability to estimate an animal's spatial location probabilistically at temporal sampling intervals between known fix locations allows researchers to quantify how individuals interact with one another and their environment on finer temporal and spatial scales than previously explored. This article extends methods from time geography, specifically probabilistic space–time prisms, to quantify and summarize animal–road interactions toward understanding related diurnal movement behaviors, including road avoidance. The approach is demonstrated using tracking data for fishers (Martes pennanti) in New York State, where the total probability of interaction with roadways is calculated for individuals over the duration tracked. Additionally, a summarization method visualizing daily interaction probabilities at 60 s intervals is developed to assist in the examination of temporal patterns associated with fishers’ movement behavior with respect to roadways. The results identify spatial and temporal patterns of fisher–roadway interaction by time of day. Overall, the methodologies discussed offer an intuitive means to assess moving object location probabilities in the context of environmental factors. Implications for movement ecology and related conservation planning efforts are also discussed. [Termes IGN] réseau fluvialIndex. décimale : THESE Thèses et HDR Résumé : (auteur) The development of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platform makes it nowadays a valuable source of data for inspection, surveillance, mapping and 3D modeling issues. UAV photogrammetry opens various new applications in close-range aerial domain and introduces a low-cost alternative to classical manned vehicle photogrammetry. Corridor mapping, one of the fields with substantial importance for UAV photo-grarnmetry, is largely demanded in the surveillance and management of infrastructure assets — highways, railways, waterways and pipelines. Due to the special geometry of the scene, corridor mapping is one case that needs taking precautions. Errors accumu-late easily on the longer dimension of the scene and a bowl effect is often observed; the flatness of the scene introduces strong correlations between parameters to be determi-ned, these two factors together, make it more difficult to obtain high accuracy results in corridor configuration than in classical ones. This thesis is a research project initiated by the CNR, a river concessionary, which has the responsibility of the maintenance and surveillance of its hydraulic facilities, more particularly the dikes. The objective is to apply UAV photogrammetry, which is faster, cheaper and offers a 3D dense reconstruction of the scene, to the monitoring of dikes. While maintaining a high surveying accuracy, a reduced field work, i.e. the number of ground control points (GCPs) is expected. In the first place, simulations are carried out to gain an insight of several problems of corridor mapping that impact the final accuracy. Then, thorough investigations are conducted on three aspects that interest us the most. The first study focuses on the aerial acquisition geometry, discussions are given on the influence of oblique images, nadir images of different flight heights as well as the possibility of an in-flight camera calibration and its application on unfavourable acquisition geometry. The second study aims to improve the acquisition performance for high-end metric cameras. The image deformation introduced by camera temperature variation is investigated and modelled. A method for the correction of this thermal effect is proposed, its performance is eva-luated on both terrestrial and aerial datasets of corridor configuration. The last study interests in the rolling shutter effect for consumer-grade cameras, which is commonly seen in UAV platforms on the market. Two methods are presented to calibrate the camera readout time, a property that is often not given by camera manufacturers. A two-step method is proposed for the correction of rolling shutter effect, its performance is evaluated in both block and corridor configurations. Note de contenu : 1- Introduction en français

Applying all the remote sensing technology available, the Chinese Academy of Sciences immediately launched into action, making full use of its state-of-the-art facilities, remote sensing planes, and satellites to amass invaluable optical and radar data. This unprecedented use of comprehensive remote sensing techniques provided accurate, up to the minute information for disaster management and has left us with a visually stunning and beautiful record that is as much a scientific achievement as it is an artistic one. Based on the accumulated data and images collected by the Project Team of Remote Sensing Monitoring and Assessment of the Wenchuan Earthquake, Atlas of Remote Sensing of the Wenchuan Earthquake documents the events as they happened in real time. The book covers the disaster from six aspects: geological, barrier lakes, collapsed buildings, damaged roads, destroyed farmland and forests, and demolished infrastructure. It also demonstrates that the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project, which has been standing for 2000 years, remains fully functioning, and keeps the Chengdu Plain operating optimally even after the earthquake. Translated into English for the first time, the Atlas presents a pictorial summation of this unique project. It chronicles the event with over 280 before and after color images from a range of perspectives. This volume dramatically demonstrates the value of remote sensing for understanding how an earthquake unfolds and the potential of remote sensing in helping coordinate emergency relief. A pictorial record of events as they unfolded, this book provides a systematic documentation of earthquake damage that can be used to prepare for future seismic events.
