Il montrera le fonctionnement de la société en elle-même, qui a la particularité d'être une Société Coopérative et Participative, et développera les diverses fonctions qu'occupe un chargé de projet en cartographie. Enfin, seront expliquées les difficultés rencontrées durant le stage, avant d'observer en images, les divers projets sur lesquels le stage a été porté. [Termes IGN] portRésumé : (Auteur) La « ville déserte », Itanos, se trouve à l'extrémité orientale de la Crète, entièrement tournée vers le large, avec des relations terrestres difficiles vers les parties fertiles de l'île. Le port d'Itanos est attesté par plusieurs auteurs antiques sans que ses vestiges apparaissent. L'analyse des cartes météorologiques-océanographiques issues des données des satellites montre que le rôle d'escale et de refuge, sur le trajet d'Anatolie vers l'Ouest et le Sud est certain, donnant une vocation maritime au site d'Itanos, alors que la fonction de transit avec l'Afrique était plus liée à l'île de Koufonisi, grâce au tourbillon de Hierapetra. L'analyse des photos de satellite et aériennes, suggère par la forme de la vallée au sud des acropoles une étendue portuaire fermée de petite taille, délimitée par la géophysique ; une plage submergée dans cette baie servait de débarcadère à l'époque où elle se consolidait, puis de carrière. Au Sud, la télédétection révèle une grande étendue d'eau protégée par deux môles naturels qui a pu être le refuge d'une flotte importante. Cette expérience montre que la télédétection utilisée dans toutes ses modalités des satellites à l'avion léger ou la géophysique, peut guider une prospection au GPS sur le terrain. Si la nécessité de l'étude par sondages reste entière, la localisation des actions à entreprendre est ainsi bien déterminée.
