[Termes IGN] test de performanceRésumé : (auteur) In real world scenarios, people’s movement include several environments rather than one, for example, road network, pavement areas and indoor. This imposes a new challenge for moving objects database that the complete trip needs to be managed by a database system. In the meantime, novel queries regarding different transportation modes should also be supported. Since existing methods are limited to trips in a single environment and do not support queries on moving objects with different transportation modes, new technologies are essentially needed in a database system. In this paper, we introduce a benchmark called GMOBench that aims to evaluate the performance of a database system managing moving objects in different environments. GMOBench is settled in a realistic scenario and is comprised of three components: (1) a data generator with the capability of creating a scalable set of trips representing the complete movement of humans (both indoor and outdoor); (2) a set of carefully designed and benchmark queries; (3) Mode-RTree, an index structure for managing generic moving objects. The generator defines some parameters so that users can control the characteristics of results. We create the benchmark data in such a way that the dataset can mirror important characteristics and real world distributions of human mobility. Efficient access methods and optimization techniques are developed for query processing. In particular, we propose an index structure called Mode-RTree to manage moving objects in different environments. By employing the proposed index, the cost of benchmark queries is greatly reduced. GMOBench is implemented in a real database system to have a practical result. We perform an extensive experimental study on comprehensive datasets to evaluate the performance. The results show that by using the Mode-RTree we achieve significant performance improvement over the baseline method, demonstrating the effectiveness and efficiency of our approaches. [Termes IGN] positionnement automatiqueRésumé : (Auteur) The objective of the proposed approach is to locate and measure ground control points in aerial images when large image search spaces are defined due to the use of inaccurate initial exterior orientation parameters, such as those provided by consumer-grade navigation systems. Vertical terrestrial image patches covering control point areas are generated and compared with aerial patches using feature- and area-based matching algorithms to automatically determine their corresponding positions in aerial images with sub-pixel precision. The approach is based on techniques for both image search space reduction and adaptive least squares matching. Experiments with real data were performed with bundle block triangulation and the results were analysed using control and check points in both object and image spaces. The proposed technique enabled a significant reduction in the search space within which it was feasible to successfully locate control points. Compared with manual measurements, the results obtained by the automatic technique were more accurate, achieving one-fifth of the ground sample distance in planimetric check point discrepancies. [Termes IGN] redressement numériqueRésumé : (auteur) Since historical maps are kept in digital format archives, they have not only the planimetric errors attributable to the cartographer but also those transferred during digitalising. This paper describes a methodology based on photogrammetric techniques and surveying applied to evaluate the accuracy of historical maps. The aim of the study is to take reference points on tracing paper from the original map and ground control points in order to use photogrammetric techniques to recover the metrics of the digitalised map. This ensures that the historical map in digital form has the same metric quality as the original map, since the errors arising from scanning are removed. This method is applied to 1775 map of the Real Sitio de Aranjuez (Spain), demonstrating that the application of photogrammetric techniques are useful tools for correction and analysis of historical maps. Consequently, photogrammetric techniques applied to the analysis of historical maps open up new perspectives for the study of the historical Cartography. [Termes IGN] UltraCamRésumé : (auteur) This research assumes lidar as a reference dataset against which in-flight camera system calibration and validation can be performed. The methodology utilises a robust least squares surface matching algorithm to align a dense network of photogrammetric points to the lidar reference surface, allowing for the automatic extraction of so-called lidar control points (LCPs). Adjustment of the photogrammetric data is then repeated using the extracted LCPs in a self-calibrating bundle adjustment with additional parameters. This methodology was tested using two different photogrammetric datasets, a Microsoft UltraCamX large format camera and an Applanix DSS322 medium format camera. Systematic sensitivity testing explored the influence of the number and weighting of LCPs. For both camera blocks it was found that when the number of control points increase, the accuracy improves regardless of point weighting. The calibration results were compared with those obtained using ground control points, with good agreement found between the two.
