[Termes IGN] système complexeRésumé : (auteur) Wildlife corridors in a landscape include local vegetation, topography, prey base, water and are associated with isolated wildlife habitat patches. They facilitate maintenance of ecological structure and function as well as provide connectivity to faunal populations supporting genetic transfers, and are elements critical to wildlife management. In this work, habitat patches for tiger, both inside as well as outside of Protected Areas have been identified by developing a Habitat Suitability Index model utilizing Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System datasets for the Terai Arc landscape, India. By using a computational approach based on the framework of theory of complex networks, for exclusively pairwise interactions between the habitat patches, a potential tiger corridor network has been structurally identified and studied in this landscape. The interactions between these habitat patches on a spatial scale has been analyzed as a clique of the corridor network. Further, the Clique Percolation Method has been applied to detect overlapping communities of habitat patches in the landscape. The Cliques required for maintaining contiguity between the habitat patches in order to support tiger movement are validated using field observations of tiger communities within the landscape matrix. The model developed for identification of tiger corridors in this study could potentially be of a vital importance for wildlife stakeholders to better understand and manage tiger populations both within and outside of protected areas. The study also highlights Critical Habitat Patches and their importance in maintaining landscape connectivity for tiger dispersal in the landscape. Using a report published by the Government of India as a benchmark, the model presented in the work is found to have an accuracy of 90.73% in predicting tiger carrying patches and the corridor network in the focal landscape. [Termes IGN] processus de hiérarchisation analytiqueRésumé : (auteur) A precise map of the dispersion of the groundwater potential across each watershed can help decision-makers to exert optimal water management in each region. In this research, the potential of groundwater resources in both the Zanjanrood Catchment and the Tarom Region, located in the northwest of Iran, has been studied. Seven effective criteria including slope, land-use, drainage density, spring density, lithology, lineament density, and rainfall are considered. Criteria were first weighted using the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) method and then overlaid by the Technique for Order Preferences by Similarity to Ideal (TOPSIS) model. Finally, the spatial zoning map of groundwater potential was obtained in four categories. A sensitivity analysis was performed to determine the influence of each criterion on the obtained map. The model was verified using both the spatial distribution of the high-discharged production wells and the geophysical-based geoelectric field surveys. The results indicate that the high-discharged wells (>40 l/s) in both regions are dispersed predominantly in the very good zone and, in several cases, in the good zone. Besides, the results from the two-dimensional models of resistivity and induced polarization of geoelectrical field survey are inappropriate agreement with those from the TOPSIS method. Notably, there is no suitable potential zone of groundwater in the surrounding highlands to be used in the future for drinking purposes since the highlands water supply is a strategic supply for drinking. The strategies employed in this study, the results of GIS modeling, and the geoelectrical analysis can be considered for sustainable development of similar arid and semi-arid areas since groundwater is considered as the main supplier of water in such regions. In this study, Hyperspectral Optimization Process Exemplar (HOPE) was modified, renamed as M-HOPE, to simultaneously obtain bathymetry and benthic habitat in shallow waters in Xisha Island, China. A local lookup table (LUT) for benthic reflectance spectra was established. Validation using in situ measurements demonstrated good performance of M-HOPE with a R2 of 0.76 for bathymetry using the local LUT. Application of M-HOPE to Sentinel-2A imagery further proved good accuracy of M-HOPE derived bathymetry with a R2 of 0.86 against in situ observations and a R2 of 0.92 against ICESat-2 measurements. However, previous studies have failed to solve spatial heterogeneity well, especially at the regional scale. The main objective of this study is to solve the spatial heterogeneity of regional-scale debris flow susceptibility (DFS) mapping by establishing a geographic information system (GIS)-based processing framework. The framework was realized by integrating the determination factor (DFactor) model with machine learning models. The DFactor model established different combinations of evaluation factors in each local region and clarified the differing contributions of influencing factors to DFS. To test the feasibility of the framework, the support vector machine (SVM) and two-dimensional convolutional neural network (CNN) were integrated with the DFactor model (DFactor-SVM and DFactor-CNN) to evaluate DFS in Jilin Province, China. The individual models (SVM and CNN) were also used to map the DFS for comparison with the integrated models. For debris flow modeling, 868 debris flow samples were collected and randomly divided into two datasets: 70% of the samples were used for training and the result was used for verification. The results of the receiver operating characteristic curve showed that the integrated models performed better. The DFactor-CNN model had the highest predictive accuracy, followed by the DFactor-SVM, CNN and SVM models. In general, the GIS-based processing framework maximizes the contribution of the influencing factors to debris flows and enhances the prediction ability of models. Furthermore, it provides a reliable means to predict debris flows at the regional scale. [Termes IGN] image Sentinel-MSIRésumé : (auteur) In China, airports have a profound impact on people’s lives, and understanding their dimensions has great significance for research and development. However, few existing airport databases contain such details, which can be reflected indirectly by the built-up land in the airport. In this study, a deep learning-based method was used for extraction of built-up land of airports in China using Sentinel-2 imagery and for further estimating their area. Here, a benchmark generation method is introduced by fusing two reference maps and cropping images into patches. Following this, a series of experiments were conducted to evaluate the network architectures and select the positive impact bands in Sentinel-2 imagery. A well-trained model was used to extract the built-up land for China airports, and the relationship between China airports’ built-up land and the carrying capacity of air transportation was further analysed. Results show that ResUNet-a outperformed U-Net, ResUNet, and SegNet, and the B2, B4, B6, B11, and B12 bands of Sentinel-2 had a positive impact on built-up land extraction. A well-trained model with an overall accuracy of 0.9423 and an F1 score of 0.9041 and 434 China airports’ built-up land was extracted. The four most developed airports are located in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, which matches China’s political and economic development. The area of built-up land influenced the passenger throughput and aircraft movements. The total area influenced the cargo throughput, and we found a certain correlation among the built-up land, carrying capacity, and nighttime light.
