[Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) The integration of field surveys, bibliographic research and multitemporal analysis of historical maps, aerial photographs and satellite images in a GIS environment, allowed the current and past geomorphological features of the old city of Alessandria and its surrounding areas, NW Italy, to be identified and mapped. Their analysis provided an overview of the geomorphological evolution of the city that is strictly related to the historical vicissitudes occurred since the Middle Ages. Nowadays, the most representative landforms and deposits characterizing the urban landscape result from human interventions and are associated with ancient military facilities and infrastructures, a historical man-made channel network no longer recognizable, the Tanaro riverbed channelization, and the urban sprawl occurred from the second half of the nineteenth century onwards. This study represents a useful tool for urban planning and management and for raising the citizens’ awareness of the urban-landscape geomorphological features and evolution, and therefore the geo-hydrological risk. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) The measurement accuracy of the Mobile Mapping System (MMS) is the main problem, which restricts its development and application, so how to calibrate the MMS to improve its measurement accuracy has always been a research hotspot in the industry. This paper proposes a position and attitude calibration method with error correction based on the combination of the feature point and feature surface. First, the initial value of the spatial position relationship between each sensor of MMS is obtained by close-range photogrammetry. Second, the optimal solution for error correction is calculated by feature points in global coordinates jointly measured with International GNSS Service (IGS) stations. Then, the final transformation parameters are solved by combining the initial values obtained originally, thereby realizing the rapid calibration of the MMS. Finally, it analyzed the RMSE of MMS point cloud after calibration, and the results demonstrate the feasibility of the calibration approach proposed by this method. Under the condition of a single measurement sensor accuracy is low, the plane and elevation absolute accuracy of the point cloud after calibration can reach 0.043 m and 0.072 m, respectively, and the relative accuracy is smaller than 0.02 m. It meets the precision requirements of data acquisition for MMS. It is of great significance for promoting the development of MMS technology and the application of some novel techniques in the future, such as autonomous driving, digital twin city, urban brain et al. To accommodate the increased population, new built-up areas are emerging at the periphery or fringe area of cities. New urbanisation has an adverse impact on the existing Land Use Land Cover (LULC). To monitor and analyse the impact of urbanisation, LULC change analysis has become the primary concern for LULC monitoring agencies. In this study, LULC change of Chennai has been assessed during 1981–2011 using temporal Landsat data. All the dataset has been classified using Maximum Likelihood Classifier (MLC). Quantitative change in LULC has been carried out using Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient, Transition Potential Matrix, Land Use Dynamic Degree and MLC. Further, spatio-temporal change analysis has been performed using Post-classification comparison technique. Cellular Automata-Markov (CA-Markov) Model used for LULC prediction for 2021–2051. The urban area of Chennai has increased from 40.74 to 103.52 km2 during 1981–2011. Further, LULC prediction using the CA-Markov model shows that the urban area of Chennai district may increase from 103.52 to 140.79 km2 during 2011–2051. During the period 1981–2051, the prediction model indicates that mostly vegetation and barren land will be converted into urban land class. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Urban Densification Suitability Analysis (UDSA) approach has been proposed using the GIS-based Logic Scoring of Preference (LSP) decision method. Our goal is to provide the methodology for the evaluation of suitability of locations for high density urban development to facilitate the spatial decision-making process and help justifiable urban planning. The main objectives of this research study are (1) to implement the GIS-based LSP method for high density urban growth suitability analysis, and (2) to perform an overall integrated suitability analysis for two key stakeholders, urban developer and urban planner. The LSP method is based on soft computing and used in the decision-making process to integrate large number of attribute criteria in a way that is consistent with human logic reasoning. The GIS-based LSP method is implemented using geospatial data for Metro Vancouver Region, Canada. Main criteria used to characterize the urban densification include recreation, transportation, existing development, economy, terrain, restrictions, and demography. The obtained results provide the distributions of suitability values and indicate that the opinions of two stakeholders differ. They select different locations as the most suitable for urban densifications and rather agree on the most unsuitable locations. The overall integrated suitability analysis has been performed with scenarios of possible decision-making outcomes between the two stakeholders. We introduce the concept of suitability agreement maps along with urban densification decision criteria. The analysis indicates that the GIS-based LSP method is a useful tool for measuring the similarities and differences in stakeholders' views and facilitating decision-making process for urban densification. Therefore, it has been necessary to carry out different phases of work to collect and analyze the cartographic material available, as well as to specify the maps and plans that would be used to convey and structure the cartography of Burgos during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. However, we must take into account in any study that, despite advances in technology, including machines used to digitize these artifacts, there remains a degree of error, so the display of the map that the researcher observes is not as reliable as it should be. Taking into account the hypothetical character of the accuracy of the maps collected and used in this study, and in order to achieve its goals, a thematic analysis through selection, geolocation, and comparison with the current city map based on different criteria is proposed. Thanks to the rich material, this case can be extrapolated to other cities in the country and the process of making up a map during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries can be known in a deeper way.
