[Termes IGN] requête spatialeRésumé : (Auteur) As an important topological relation model, the dimensionally extended 9‐intersection model (DE‐9IM) has been widely used as a basis for standards of queries in spatial databases. However, the negative conditions for the specification of the topological relations within the DE‐9IM have not been studied. The specification of the topological relations is closely related to the definition of the spatial objects and the topological relation models. The interior, boundary, and exterior of the spatial objects, including the point, line, and region, are defined. Within the framework of the DE‐9IM, 43 negative conditions are proposed to eliminate impossible topological relations. Configurations of region/region, region/line, line/line, region/point, line/point, and point/point relations are drawn. The mutual exclusion of the negative conditions is discussed, and the topological relations within the framework of 9IM and DE‐9IM are compared. The results show that: (1) impossible topological relations between spatial objects can be eliminated by the application of 43 negative conditions; and (2) 12 relations between two regions, 31 relations between a region and a line, 47 relations between two lines, three relations between a region and a point, three relations between a line and a point, and two relations between two points can be distinguished by the DE‐9IM. L’Agence spatiale européenne a récemment lancé les satellites des séries Sentinel qui livrent 8 à 10 To de données par jour, ce qui ouvre de nouvelles opportunités dans les domaines de l’environnement, l’urbanisme, l’océanographie, la climatologie, etc. Les applications métier nécessitent de coupler ces images à des données issues de diverses sources, afin de fournir une meilleure aide à la décision pour des actions à effectuer sur les zones observées. Un des défis à relever est alors l’intégration de ces données hétérogènes. Les technologies du Web sémantique fournissent une infrastructure basée sur des standards de représentation de données et des ontologies, qui jouent un rôle clé dans ce contexte. Notre approche sémantique d’intégration de données enrichit les métadonnées des images satellites par des données de sources pertinentes, décrivant les observations de la Terre en réponse à un besoin donné. Nous proposons un vocabulaire sémantique, formalisant des relations spatio-temporelles et support à l’intégration de divers jeux de données géolocalisées. Nous illustrons notre approche avec un cas d’étude basé sur des données météorologiques. [Termes IGN] secours d'urgenceRésumé : (Auteur) A structural and quantitative representation of disaster status contributes to efficient emergency decision-making, for this purpose, a representation model for disaster status is developed in this paper, called spatio-temporal scenario model (short for STSM model). Concept of the term `scenario' is discussed at first. Then, based on the concept, STSM model is proposed and introduced in detail. It contains two components: developing scenario connotation and developing spatio-temporal framework. Scenario connotation is to develop representation of disaster status of each object, consisting of object representation and damage representation. Spatio-temporal framework is to develop representation of evolution of disaster status, consisting of representation of spatial relation, temporal relation, natural environment and emergency response. Finally, an example is provided to show the effectiveness of STSM model. Advantages of the developed model lie in four aspects: flexibility in describing dynamic disaster status; universal representation of disaster status contributing to similarity assessment; helping in evaluating emergency severity with the quantitative representation of disaster status. Moreover, it helps decision-makers obtain a more comprehensive representation for disaster evolution in a certain time space. Their subjective nature, however, and the resulting difficulties in collecting data, means that in many countries there are no officially defined neighbourhoods either in terms of names or boundaries. This has implications not only for policy but also business and social decisions as a whole. With the absence of neighbourhood boundaries many studies resort to using standard administrative units as proxies. Such administrative geographies, however, often have a poor fit with those perceived by residents. Our approach detects these important social boundaries by automatically mining the Web en masse for passively declared neighbourhood data within postal addresses. Focusing on the United Kingdom (UK), this research demonstrates the feasibility of automated extraction of urban neighbourhood names and their subsequent mapping as vague entities. Importantly, and unlike previous work, our process does not require any neighbourhood names to be established a priori. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (Auteur) Map generalization utilizes transformation operations to derive smaller-scale maps from larger-scale maps, and is a key procedure for the modelling and understanding of geographic space. Studies to date have largely applied a fixed tolerance to aggregate clustered buildings into a single object, resulting in the loss of details that meet cartographic constraints and may be of importance for users. This study aims to develop a method that amalgamates clustered buildings gradually without significant modification of geometry, while preserving the map details as much as possible under cartographic constraints. The amalgamation process consists of three key steps. First, individual buildings are grouped into distinct clusters by using the graph-based spatial clustering application with random forest (GSCARF) method. Second, building clusters are decomposed into scaling subgroups according to homogeneity with regard to the mean distance of subgroups. Thus, hierarchies of building clusters can be derived based on scaling subgroups. Finally, an amalgamation operation is progressively performed from the bottom-level subgroups to the top-level subgroups using the maximum distance of each subgroup as the amalgamating tolerance instead of using a fixed tolerance. As a consequence of this step, generalized intermediate scaling results are available, which can form the multi-scale representation of buildings. The experimental results show that the proposed method can generate amalgams with correct details, statistical area balance and orthogonal shape while satisfying cartographic constraints (e.g., minimum distance and minimum area).
