[Termes IGN] restauration d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) Images that are collected for mapping purposes from airborne or space-borne sensors have to cover large areas by great image swaths at a high spatial resolution. These demands can be fulfilled by push-broom scanners featuring staggered line arrays, which are constructed from two identical CCD lines shifted against each other by half a pixel in line direction. Practical applications of such arrays in remote sensing include SPOT, and in the airborne environment the Airborne Digital Sensor, or ADS40, from Leica Geosystems. Furthermore, image restoration methods for enhancing the image quality can be applied to improve image quality and resolution. This paper presents an approach of high resolution image restitution from staggered lines and practical results with ADS40 high resolution panchromatic images. [Termes IGN] étalonnage spectralRésumé : (Auteur) Digital cameras have spectral and radiometric properties superior to analogue film cameras. Due to its radiometrically stable construction, the ADS40 sensor is capable of making images for cartography as well as remote sensing applications. For the increased size of current projects, for sensor fusion, as well as for change detection purposes it is necessary to produce comparable images for different flight conditions (weather, camera system, etc.). This is not possible with classical film cameras since comparable images require the absolute radiometric calibration of the imaging system, before atmospheric correction, reflectance calibration and BRDF correction can take place. The methods for satellite laboratory calibration can be also used for digital airborne cameras. A laboratory calibration of the ADS40 is made with a calibrated integrating sphere in order to determine dark signal, lens falloff, and radiometric gain for each sensor line. For the ADS40 a linear radiometric model is sufficiently accurate. The knowledge of the system spectral response allows a more accurate calculation of the radiometric calibration coefficients and is a check for system integrity. In order to provide a regional camera service, radiometric calibration facilities are being established on several service sites of the world. [Termes IGN] valeur propreRésumé : (Auteur) Video provides strong cues for automatic road extraction that are not available in static aerial images. In video from a static camera, or stabilized (or geo-referenced) aerial video data, motion patterns within a scene enable fonction attribution of scene regions. A "road," for example, may be defined as a path of consistent motion - a definition which is valid in a large and diverse set of environments. The spatio-temporal structure tensor field is an ideal representation of the image derivative distribution at each pixel because it can be updated in real time as video is acquired. An eigen-decomposition of the structure tensor encodes both the local scene motion and the variability in the motion. Additionally, the structure tensor field can be factored into motion components, allowing explicit determination of traffic patterns in intersections. Example results of a real time system are shown for an urban scene with both well-traveled and infrequently traveled roads, indicating that both can be discovered simultaneously. The method is ideal in urban traffic scenes, which are the most difficult to analyze using static imagery.
