[Termes IGN] photogrammétrie numériqueRésumé : (Auteur) This well-established annual conference, which is now in its eighth year, was held in Porec, Croatia between 15th and 18th September 2008. As with the two previous meetings (which were held in Montenegro and Bulgaria), it took place in a Balkan country [...]. The conference was organised in a most competent manner by the Racurs company, the vast majority of the participants being users of the company's PHOTOMOD software products. Thus nearly 80 of the 120 participants were Russian-speaking, the rest being English-speaking. The format followed last year's very successful meeting in Bulgaria with coverage of airborne imaging and mapping on the first day and spaceborne imaging and mapping on the second day, while the third day was devoted to current and future developments in the Racurs company's software products. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) The 6th International Conference on Laser Scanning & Digital Aerial Photography, organised jointly by the Russian Society of Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing (RSPRS) and the giant Gazprom company, was held in Moscow between 6th and 8th december 2006. As the conference title suggested, it was focused on three main Themes -(i) airborne laser scanning; (ii) terrestrial (ground-based) laser scanning; and (iii) airborne digital photography, with particular reference to their applications within Russia. On the one hand, the detailed papers on these three technologies were given mainly by Western system suppliers or their Russian representatives. On the over hand, the papers on the applications of these technologies were presented mainly by Russian contributors, who have adopted these technologies enthusiastically with numerous interesting and varied applications. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser aéroportéRésumé : (Auteur) Attempting to review all the products and services being offered on the stands of over 500 companies and organisations at the INTERGEO 2006 trade fair would require a squad of reviewers and occupy a whole issue of this magazine. Thus, when asked by the publishers to contribute a review based on my visit to INTERGEO, it seemed best instead to concentrate on a single well-defined area where a lot of activity was taking place at the fair. The most obvious area for someone with my interests was airborne laser scanning. Here quite a number of interesting new products and technical developments were to be seen, together with the provision of growing number of related services. So I have tried to review this particular area under two main headings - (i) system suppliers ; and (ii) service providers. [Termes IGN] restitutionRésumé : (Auteur) GPS aided inertial navigation systems have been available for commercial mapping applications for approximately a decade, pioneered by Canadian-based Applanix Corporation. [...] The impact on the aerial suvey and remote sensing industry has brought about a re-assessment of traditional photogrammetric methodology and the potential elimination of two fundamental mapping component, the ground control survey and corresponding aerotriangulation process. By merging the GPS and inertial navigation technologies, accurate position and orientation of the airborne imaging sensor, with respect to the Earth, can be determined directly.
