[Termes IGN] risque naturelRésumé : (auteur) Floods have received global significance in contemporary times due to their destructive behavior, which may wreak tremendous ruin on infrastructure and civilization. The present research employed an integration of the Geographic information system (GIS) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method for identifying the flood susceptibility zonation (FSZ), flood vulnerability zonation (FVZ), and flood risk zonation (FRZ) of the humid subtropical Uttar Dinajpur district in India. The study combined a large number of thematic layers (N = 12 for FSZ and N = 9 for FVZ) to achieve reliable accuracy and included the multicollinearity analysis of these variables to overcome the issues related to highly correlated variables. According to the findings, 27.04, 15.62, and 4.59% of the area were classified as medium, high, and very high FRZ, respectively. The ROC-AUC, MAE, MSE, and RMSE of the model exhibited a good prediction accuracy of 0.73, 0.15, 0.16, and 0.21, respectively. The performance of the AHP model has been evaluated using sensitivity analyses. It also highly recommends that persistent improvement in this subject, such as sensitivity studies on modifying criteria thresholds, changing the relative significance of criteria, and changing the desired matrix, will permit GIS and MCDA to be progressively adapted to real hazard-management issues. [Termes IGN] traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) The best integer equivariant (BIE) estimator for the multivariate t-distribution was introduced in Teunissen (J Geod, 2020. https://doi.org/10.1007/s00190-020-01407-2), where it was shown that the BIE-weights will be different from that of the normal distribution. In this contribution, we analyze these BIE estimators while making use of multi global navigation satellite system (GNSS) data. The BIE-estimators are also compared to their least-squares (LS) and integer least-squares (ILS) contenders. Monte Carlo simulations are conducted so as to realize controlled performance comparisons of the different estimators for the purpose of multi-GNSS (GPS, Galileo, BDS and QZSS) single-frequency real-time kinematic positioning. The analyses are done in a qualitative sense by means of positioning scatter plots, and in a quantitative sense by means of numerical mean-squared-error (MSE) curves for the different estimators under different model strengths (receiver-satellite geometries and varying degrees of freedom). Particular attention is given to the difference in impact the multivariate t-distribution has when either only its cofactor matrix is in common with the normal distribution or its complete variance-covariance matrix. It will be shown that the BIE-estimators give better MSEs to both the LS- and ILS-estimator when the ILS success rate is different from zero and one, respectively. We also demonstrate that using the same BIE-estimator on different data distributions can give users an unrealistic sense of their solution quality, while the usage of two different BIE-estimators on the same data can have a marginal impact. [Termes IGN] signal laserRésumé : (auteur) Single-photon airborne light detection and ranging (LiDAR) systems provide high-density data from high flight altitudes. We compared single-photon and linear-mode airborne LiDAR for the prediction of species-specific volumes in boreal coniferous-dominated forests. The LiDAR data sets were acquired at different flight altitudes using Leica SPL100 (single-photon, 17 points ⋅ m−2 ), Riegl VQ-1560i (linear-mode, 11 points ⋅ m−2 ), and Leica ALS60 (linear-mode, 0.6 points ⋅ m−2 ) LiDAR systems. Volumes were predicted at the plot-level using Gaussian process regression with predictor variables extracted from the LiDAR data sets and aerial images. Our findings showed that the Leica SPL100 produced a greater mean root-mean-squared error (RMSE) value (41.7 m3 ⋅ ha −1 ) than the Leica ALS60 (39.3 m3 ⋅ ha −1 ) in the prediction of species-specific volumes. Correspondingly, the Riegl VQ-1560i (mean RMSE = 33.0 m3 ⋅ ha −1 ) outperformed both the Leica ALS60 and the Leica SPL100. We found that the cumulative distributions of the first echo heights >1.3 m were rather similar among the data sets, whereas the last echo distributions showed larger differences. We conclude that the Leica SPL100 data set is suitable for area-based LiDAR inventory by tree species although the prediction errors are greater than with data obtained using the modern linear-mode LiDAR, such as Riegl VQ-1560i. [Termes IGN] Quasi-Zenith Satellite SystemRésumé : (auteur) In this study, a comprehensive assessment of four-satellite Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) constellation is conducted, including the quality of navigation signals, the accuracy of broadcast ephemeris, the availability of satellite constellation, the performance of single point positioning (SPP), the interoperability with GPS, and the inter-system bias (ISB) against GPS. Regarding the signal quality, no significant difference between QZSS and GPS can be found. The signal-in-space ranging error (SISRE) of QZSS satellites is 0.59–0.62 m. The service rate of QZSS-only positioning is 69.8–77.8% in QZSS service areas. A positioning accuracy of 5.70, 3.20 and 6.99 m in east, north and up directions can be achieved for the QZSS-only SPP. After introducing QZSS observations into GPS-only SPP processing, the positioning accuracy can be slightly improved. The ISB with a short-term stability of 1.75 ns behaves like systematic biases, and thus cannot be ignored in the GPS/QZSS combined SPP.
