The ’city ring road’ is an example of a road structure we might use in the recognition and characterisation of a city. Our goal is the automatic identification (and preservation) of such structures through changing scales. In this preliminary study, we conducted an online survey and face to face interviews in order to obtain and prioritise the structural, topological and semantic properties that define ’ring road-ness’. We then created a practical ontology of ring roads, with a view to algorithm implementation that mirrors the human perception of ring roads. [Termes IGN] transformation en ondelettesRésumé : (auteur) The characteristics of a wide variety of scales about objects and complex texture features of high-resolution remote sensing images make deep learning-based change detection methods the mainstream method. However, existing deep learning methods have problems with spatial information loss and insufficient feature representation, resulting in unsatisfactory effects of small objects detection and boundary positioning in high-resolution remote sensing images change detection. To address the problems, a network architecture based on 2-dimensional discrete wavelet transform and adaptive feature weighted fusion is proposed. The proposed network takes Siamese network and Nested U-Net as the backbone; 2-dimensional discrete wavelet transform is used to replace the pooling layer; and the inverse transform is used to replace the upsampling to realize image reconstruction, reduce the loss of spatial information, and fully retain the original image information. In this way, the proposed network can accurately detect changed objects of different scales and reconstruct change maps with clear boundaries. Furthermore, different feature fusion methods of different stages are proposed to fully integrate multi-scale and multi-level features and improve the comprehensive representation ability of features, so as to achieve a more refined change detection effect while reducing pseudo-changes. To verify the effectiveness and advancement of the proposed method, it is compared with seven state-of-the-art methods on two datasets of Lebedev and SenseTime from the three aspects of quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis, and efficiency analysis, and the effectiveness of proposed modules is validated by an ablation study. The results of quantitative analysis and efficiency analysis show that, under the premise of taking into account the operation efficiency, our method can improve the recall while ensuring the detection precision, and realize the improvement of the overall detection performance. Specifically, it shows an average improvement of 37.9% and 12.35% on recall, and 34.76% and 11.88% on F1 with the Lebedev and SenseTime datasets, respectively, compared to other methods. The qualitative analysis shows that our method has better performance on small objects detection and boundary positioning than other methods, and a more refined change map can be obtained. [Termes IGN] réserve naturelleRésumé : (Auteur) Representations of fuzzy geographic objects and analyses of their spatial relationships have received considerable attention in the GIS and spatial database domains over the past 30 years. However, building fuzzy geographical objects from real data is still a challenge. Simple fuzzy areal object models are too restrictive for many applications, and general fuzzy areal models may not be restrictive enough; as a result, the extent of fuzzy regions that satisfy the relevant conditions may be too large to affect the location description and spatial analysis. A condition by which the number of cores is not greater than one is added for the general object model, and an operable method for constructing fuzzy objects from the point set is proposed. Two peak and pass sets are determined for the membership surface by the fuzzy morphometric analysis method. The first set is used to initially divide the footprint of the fuzzy surface into smaller subfootprints, and the second set is used to merge insignificant fuzzy objects with their nearest significant fuzzy objects; thus, unreasonable division is avoided. Cross-validation is adopted to evaluate the generated fuzzy objects. An experiment is provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. [Termes IGN] vectorisationRésumé : (auteur) The article considers the question of estimating the accuracy of interpolation methods for building digital elevation models using Soviet topographic maps. The territory of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation was used as the study area, because it is located on the Central Russian Upland and characterized by the complex structure of the vertical and horizontal dissection of the relief. Contour lines automatically obtained using a Python algorithm were used as the initial elevation data to build a digital elevation model. Digital elevation models obtained by thirteen different interpolation methods in ArcGIS and Surfer software were built and analyzed. Special attention is paid to the ANUDEM method, which allows to obtain hydrologically correct digital elevation models. Recommendations for the use of one or another method of interpolation are given. The results can be useful for professionals who use topographic maps in their work and deals with the design using digital elevation models. [Termes IGN] web mappingRésumé : (auteur) To do territorial planning, we need several maps referring to different layers of information necessary to represent the territory according to a vast set of variables. At the Portuguese municipal level, the municipal master plan (PDM – plano diretor municipal) is the territorial management tool responsible for long-term territorial planning and ordering. Since the PDM will constrain the citizens’ lives, it should be of easy access and interpretation. However, due to its large amount of information, it is often hard for them to understand what is presented using only static cartographic elements. Comparing 60 Web sites that present geographical information for a wider public, we found that narrative, visual, and interactive elements and data presentation in flexible portions with the necessary information for partitioning, browsing, or querying made the data more engaging. This flexibility is particularly important with large data sets, where decreasing the level of complexity is vital for proper understanding and analysis. We found that geoportals dedicated to territorial public policies lack narrative elements that would improve comprehension. Since it is difficult for the general public to understand the strategy the municipality wants to implement, the desired public participation, although possible, will return poor results.
