The algorithm is directly based on the concept that each pixel in background can be approximately represented by its spatial neighborhoods, while anomalies cannot. The representation is assumed to be the linear combination of neighboring pixels, and the collaboration of representation is reinforced by l2-norm minimization of the representation weight vector. To adjust the contribution of each neighboring pixel, a distance-weighted regularization matrix is included in the optimization problem, which has a simple and closed-form solution. By imposing the sum-to-one constraint to the weight vector, the stability of the solution can be enhanced. The major advantage of the proposed algorithm is the capability of adaptively modeling the background even when anomalous pixels are involved. A kernel extension of the proposed approach is also studied. Experimental results indicate that our proposed detector may outperform the traditional detection methods such as the classic Reed-Xiaoli (RX) algorithm, the kernel RX algorithm, and the state-of-the-art robust principal component analysis based and sparse-representation-based anomaly detectors, with low computational cost. Polarimeric InSAR (PolInSAR) has consolidated as an active field of research in parallel to non-PolInSAR. Regarding the latter, there have been a number of issues that were discussed in an earlier paper from which some other questions related to Cloude's PolInSAR come out naturally. In particular, they affect the usual understanding of coherence and statistical independence. Coherence involves the behavior of electromagnetic waves in at least a pair of points, and it is crucially related to the statistical independence of scatterers in a complex scene. Although this would seem to allow PolInSAR to overcome the difficulties involving the controversial confusion between statistical independence and polarization as present in PolSAR, Cloude's PolInSAR originally inherited the idea of separating physical contributors to the scattering phenomenon through the use of singular values and vectors. This was an assumption consistent with Cloude's PolSAR postulates that was later set aside. We propose the introduction of a multidimensional coherence tensor that includes PolInSAR's polarimetric interferometry matrix Ω12 as its 2-D case. We show that some important properties of the polarimetric interferometry matrix are incidental to its bidimensionality. Notably, this exceptional behavior in 2-D seems to suggest that the singular value decomposition (SVD) of Ω12 does not provide a physical insight into the scattering problem in the sense of splitting different scattering contributors. It might be argued that Cloude's PolInSAR in its current form does not rely on the SVD of Ω12 but on other underlying optimization schemes. The drawbacks of such ulterior developments and the failu- e of the maximum coherence separation procedure to be a consistent scheme for surface topography estimation in a two-layer model are discussed in depth in this paper. Nevertheless, turning back to the SVD of Ω12, the use of the singular values of a prewhitened version of Ω12 is consistent with a leading method of characterizing coherence in modern Optics. For this reason, the utility of the SVD of Ω12 as a means of characterizing coherence is analyzed here and extended to higher dimensionalities. Finally, these extensions of the concept of coherence to the multidimensional case are tested and compared with the 2-D case by numerically simulating the scattered electromagnetic field from a rough surface. [Termes IGN] optimisation (mathématiques)Résumé : (Auteur) Constrained energy minimization (CEM) has been widely used for subpixel detection. It takes advantage of inverting the global sample correlation matrix R to suppress background so as to enhance detection of targets of interest. This paper presents a progressive band processing of CEM (PBP-CEM) which can perform CEM for target detection progressively band by band according to band sequential format. In doing so, a new concept, called causal band correlation matrix (CBCM), is introduced to replace the global sample correlation matrix R. It is a global correlation matrix formed by only those bands that were already visited up to the band currently being processed while excluding bands yet to be visited in the future. The proposed PBP-CEM allows CEM to be processed whenever bands are available, without waiting for completing band collection. With such an advantage, CEM has potential in data transmission and communication, specifically in satellite data processing.
Note de contenu : Introduction

[Termes IGN] programmation non linéaireRésumé : (Auteur) Spectral-spatial feature combination for hyperspectral image analysis has become an important research topic in hyperspectral remote sensing applications. A simple and straightforward way to integrate spectral-spatial features is to concatenate heterogeneous features into a long vector. Then, the dimensionality reduction techniques, i.e., feature selection, are applied before subsequent utilizations. However, such representation can introduce redundancy and noise. Moreover, traditional single-feature selection methods treat different features equally and ignore their complementary properties. As a result, the performance of subsequent tasks, i.e., classification, would drop down. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to integrate the spectral-spatial features based on the concatenating strategy, termed discriminative sparse multimodal learning for feature selection (DSML-FS). In the proposed method, joint structured sparsity regularizations are used to exploit the intrinsic data structure and relationships among different features. Discriminative least squares regression is applied to enlarge the distance between classes. Therefore, the weight matrix incorporating the information of feature wise and individual properties is automatically learned for spectral-spatial feature selection. We develop an alternative iterative algorithm to solve the nonlinear optimization problem in DSML-FS with global convergence. We systematically evaluate the proposed algorithm on three available hyperspectral data sets, and the encouraging experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of DSML-FS.
