In the present study the fixed gravimetric boundary value problems are considered for the exterior as well as for the interior domain of the earth.
First of all existence and uniqueness of the solution are studied. For the solution theory the oblique Green's functions and the separable harmonic basis functions are generally discussed. The oblique derivative boundary operator is represented on the topogaphy.
A permissible reference density and the normal gravity field are derived from the equipotential earth spheroid. Based upon this the boundary value problems are solved by means of the spheroidal and Green's functions. The solutions are subsequently represented in the Hilbert space with reproducing kernel and the integral formulae on the earth spheroid are investigated with respect to the numerical aspects.

[Termes IGN] tectonique des plaquesIndex. décimale : 30.10 Systèmes de référence et réseaux géodésiques Résumé : (Auteur) Space-geodetic techniques allow, on a global basis, a centimetric realization of a Conventional Terrestrial Reference System through a Conventional Terrestrial Reference Frame. These techniques are in particular : VLBI, LLR, SLR and GPS. The actual Terrestrial Reference Frame (TRF) needs global coverage of observing sites for describing the motion and deformation of the whole Earth. In addition to geodetic and Earth rotation aspects, geophysical phenomena requiring a global TRF include tectonic motion and deformation, change in global sea level and post-glacial rebound. The work on the terrestrial frame of the International Earth Rotation Service (IERS) and in particular the implementation of its TRF, called ITRF and based on combinaison of several data sets coming from space-geodetic techniques, will be presented in terms of quality and international consistency. This work will be viewed from the perspective of an International Global Network. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (Auteur) The project described in this article had two primary objectives : to design a strategy for terrain generalization that is adaptive to different terrain types, scales, and map purposes, and to implement and evaluate some components of this approach to assess its potential. The strategy includes three different generalization methods : a global filtering procedure, a selective (iterative) filtering method, and a heuristic approach based on the generalization of the terrain's structure lines. For a given generalization problem that is constrained by the terrain character, map objective, scale, graphic limits, and data quality, the appropriate technique is selected through structure and process recognition procedures. Some of the key components of the strategy have been implemented and some experiments were conducted. Other parts were covered by proposing models that could serve as implementation guidelines. Our work was intended to break ground for future research. Recommendations for appropriate parameter settings in relation to scale, terrain character, and other controls of generalization still need to be established. Some alternatives for knowledge acquisition for cartographic generalization are proposed, including the development of a highlevel interactive "terrain generalizer”.
