[Termes IGN] régression linéaireRésumé : (Auteur) The k-nearest-neighbour (kNN) algorithm is widely applied for the estimation of forest attributes using remote sensing data. It requires a large amount of reference data to achieve satisfactory results. Usually, the number of available reference plots for the kNN-prediction is limited by the size of the area covered by a terrestrial reference inventory and remotely sensed imagery collected from one overflight. The applicability of kNN could be enhanced if adjacent images of different acquisition dates could be used in the same estimation procedure. Relative radiometric calibration is a prerequisite for this. This study focuses on two empirical calibration methods. They are tested on adjacent LANDSAT TM scenes in Austria. The first, quite conventional one is based on radiometric control points in the overlap area of two images and on the determination of transformation parameters by linear regression. The other, recently developed method exploits the kNN-cross-validation procedure. Performance and applicability of both methods as well as the impact of phenology are discussed. [Termes IGN] spatial metricsRésumé : (Auteur) Nearest Neighbor (NN) search has been in the core of spatial and spatiotemporal database research during the last decade. The literature on NN query processing algorithms so far deals with either stationary or moving query points over static datasets or future (predicted) locations over a set of continuously moving points. With the increasing number of Mobile Location Services (MLS), the need for effective k-NN query processing over historical trajectory data has become the vehicle for data analysis, thus improving existing or even proposing new services. In this paper, we investigate mechanisms to perform NN search on R-tree-like structures storing historical information about moving object trajectories. The proposed (depth-first and best-first) algorithms vary with respect to the type of the query object (stationary or moving point) as well as the type of the query result (historical continuous or not), thus resulting in four types of NN queries. We also propose novel metrics to support our search ordering and pruning strategies. Using the implementation of the proposed algorithms on two members of the R-tree family for trajectory data (namely, the TB-tree and the 3D-R-tree), we demonstrate their scalability and efficiency through an extensive experimental study using large synthetic and real datasets. [Termes IGN] tâche image d'un pointRésumé : (Auteur) Efficient and accurate imaging spectroscopy data processing asks for perfectly consistent (i.e., ideally uniform) data in both the spectral and spatial dimensions. However, real pushbroom-type imaging spectrometers are affected by various point spread function (PSF) nonuniformity artifacts. First, individual pixels or lines may be missing in the raw data due to bad pixels originating from the detector, readout errors, or even electronic failures. Second, so-called smile and keystone optical aberrations are inherent to imaging spectrometers. Appropriate resampling strategies are required for the preprocessing of such data if emphasis is put on spatial PSF uniformity. So far, nearest neighbour interpolations have been often recommended and used for resampling. This paper shall analyze the radiometric effects if linear interpolation is used to optimize the spatial PSF uniformity. For modeling interpolation effects, an extensive library of measured surface reflectance spectra as well as real imaging spectroscopy data over various land cover types are used. The real measurements are systematically replaced by interpolated values, and the deviation between original and resampled spectra is taken as a quality measure. The effects of nearest neighbour resampling and linear interpolation methods are compared. It is found that linear interpolation methods lead to average radiometric errors below 2% for the correction of spatial PSF nonuniformity in the subpixel domain, whereas the replacement of missing pixels leads to average errors in the range of 10%-20%.
