[Vedettes matières IGN] Traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) The key concept of the virtual reference station (VRS) network-based technique is to use the observables of multiple reference stations to generate the network corrections in the form of a virtual reference station at a nearby user’s location. Regarding the expected positioning accuracy, the novice GNSS data processing strategies have been adopted in the server-side functional model for mitigating distance-dependent errors including atmospheric effects and orbital uncertainty in order to generate high-quality virtual reference stations. In addition, the realistic stochastic model also plays an important role to take account of the unmodelled error in the rover-side processing. The results of our previous study revealed that the minimum norm quadratic unbiased estimation (MINQUE) stochastic model procedure can improve baseline component accuracy and integer ambiguity reliability, however, it requires adequate epoch length in a solution to calculate the elements of the variance-covariance matrix. As a result, it may not be suitable for urban environment where the satellite signal interruptions take place frequently, therefore, the ambiguity resolution needs to be resolved within the limited epochs. In order to address this limitation, this study proposed the stochastic model based on using the residual interpolation uncertainty (RIU) as the weighting schemes. This indicator reflects the quality of network corrections for any satellite pair at a specific rover position and can be calculated on the epoch-by-epoch basis. The comparison results with the standard stochastic model indicated that the RIU-weight model produced slightly better positioning accuracy but increased significant level of the ambiguity resolution successful rate. [Termes IGN] rétrodiffusion de BraggRésumé : (auteur) In this article, we propose a polarimetric calibration (PolCal) algorithm to estimate the system crosstalk, cross-polarization (x-pol), and co-polarization (co-pol) channel imbalance (CI) when ground corner reflectors (CRs) are unavailable. The current PolCal process requires at least one trihedral CR to determine the co-pol CI. However, the deployment of ground CRs is costly and may even be impossible in some areas. To calibrate a polarimetric image without CRs, our proposed method automatically extracts the volume-dominated and Bragg-like pixels as a reference to estimate the crosstalk, x-pol, and co-pol CI values. Then, a first-order polynomial model is exploited to fit the co-pol CI to further improve calibration accuracy. In the experimental section, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method with data from two of China’s newly developed very high-resolution systems. The experiments confirmed that the proposed workflow can be considered as a feasible calibration scheme when the ground deployment of CRs is impossible, and it is also an effective analysis tool for the assessment of calibrated products. [Termes IGN] télédétection spatialeRésumé : (Auteur) With advances in satellite maneuvering imaging capability, stereoscopic images with large roll and pitch angles can be captured to improve the efficiency of observations. At the same time, the influences of light aberration and atmospheric refraction on image positioning accuracy will be more significant. However, these errors are not accounted for in the traditional imaging and calibration model for optical agile satellites. In this study, the formation mechanisms of the aberration and atmospheric refraction errors in optical remote sensing satellite Earth observation imaging were analyzed quantitatively, and correction models were constructed. From this, the traditional geometric imaging model was refined by introducing a correction model for aberration and atmospheric refraction errors to create a more comprehensive geometric imaging model. The feasibility of an extended rational function model, based on the constructed more comprehensive geometric imaging model, was verified quantitatively. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) Altimetry data of two and a half years (June 2016–November 2018) of Sentinel-3A SRAL (S3A-SRAL) were validated at the sampling frequency of 80 Hz. The data were obtained from the European Space Agency (ESA) Grid Processing On Demand (GPOD) service over three coastal sites in Spain: Huelva (HU) (Gulf of Cádiz), Barcelona (BA) (Western Mediterranean Sea), and Bilbao (BI) (Bay of Biscay). Two tracks were selected in each site: one ascending and one descending. Data were validated using in situ tide gauge (TG) data provided by the Spanish Puertos del Estado. The altimetry sea level anomaly time series were obtained using the corrections available in GPOD with the exception of the sea state bias (SSB) correction, not available at 80 Hz. Hence, the SSB was approximated to 5% of the significant wave height (SWH). The validation was performed using two statistical parameters, the Pearson correlation coefficient (r) and the root mean square error (rmse). In the 5–20-km segment with respect to the coastline, the results were 6–8 cm (rmse) and 0.7–0.8 (r) for all the tracks. The 0–5-km segment was also analyzed in detail to study the land effect on the altimetry data quality. The results showed that the track orientation, the angle of intersection with the coast, and the land topography concur to determine the nearest distance to the coast at which the data retain a similar level of accuracy than in the 5–20-km segment. This “distance of good quality” to shore reaches a minimum of 3 km for the tracks at HU and the descending track at BA. [Termes IGN] ressources en eauRésumé : (auteur) Accurate identification of water boundaries is of great significance to water resources surveys. Most water indexes have been designed for different districts and cannot be universally utilized in different regions and, in addition, they rely on atmospheric correction. A new water index, None-Radiation-Calibration Water Index (NRCWI), was constructed by Landsat OLI Band 3 (Green), Band 5 (NIR), and Band 6 (SWIR1), and was compared to the previous method, Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI), Automated Water Extraction Index (AWEI). We evaluated the accuracy of four water index methods for classifying water in 30-m resolution Landsat 8 OLI imagery from the Bohai Sea Rim in China, which takes in a broad assortment of features including sea and coastline, lakes, rivers, man-made water features, and mountains (shadow water). The following outcomes were obtained: 1. The overall accuracy of NRCWI was 95.23%, which is higher than NDWI, MNDWI, AWEI; 2. The leakage error of NRCWI was 5.48%, the misclassification error was 6.15%, and it implies that the error of NRCWI was effected decrease; 3. NRCWI had the highest kappa coefficient in lakes, rivers, man-made waters, mountains, and other ground features, which means that the method can reach a high accuracy in case 2 water which is principally situated in the near shore, estuary and so on; 4. In the applicability study, the kappa values of NRCWI were 89.99% (OLI), 87.36% (ETM+), 87.33% (TM), and 81.20% (Sentinel-2 MSI). Overall, the NRCWI method performed the best, with the highest accuracy and the lowest leakage error, which may be useful in OLI, ETM+, and TM imagery.
