[Termes IGN] valeur aberranteRésumé : (auteur) The iteratively reweighted least-squares approach to self-tuning robust adjustment of parameters in linear regression models with autoregressive (AR) and t-distributed random errors, previously established in Kargoll et al. (in J Geod 92(3):271–297, 2018. https://doi.org/10.1007/s00190-017-1062-6), is extended to multivariate approaches. Multivariate models are used to describe the behavior of multiple observables measured contemporaneously. The proposed approaches allow for the modeling of both auto- and cross-correlations through a vector-autoregressive (VAR) process, where the components of the white-noise input vector are modeled at every time instance either as stochastically independent t-distributed (herein called “stochastic model A”) or as multivariate t-distributed random variables (herein called “stochastic model B”). Both stochastic models are complementary in the sense that the former allows for group-specific degrees of freedom (df) of the t-distributions (thus, sensor-component-specific tail or outlier characteristics) but not for correlations within each white-noise vector, whereas the latter allows for such correlations but not for different dfs. Within the observation equations, nonlinear (differentiable) regression models are generally allowed for. Two different generalized expectation maximization (GEM) algorithms are derived to estimate the regression model parameters jointly with the VAR coefficients, the variance components (in case of stochastic model A) or the cofactor matrix (for stochastic model B), and the df(s). To enable the validation of the fitted VAR model and the selection of the best model order, the multivariate portmanteau test and Akaike’s information criterion are applied. The performance of the algorithms and of the white noise test is evaluated by means of Monte Carlo simulations. Furthermore, the suitability of one of the proposed models and the corresponding GEM algorithm is investigated within a case study involving the multivariate modeling and adjustment of time-series data at four GPS stations in the EUREF Permanent Network (EPN). [Termes IGN] signal GNSSRésumé : (auteur) In recent years, the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) have been intensively modernized, resulting in the introduction of new carrier frequencies for GPS and GLONASS and the development of new satellite systems such as Galileo and BeiDou (BDS). For this reason, the absolute field antenna calibrations performed so far for the two legacy carrier frequencies, the GPS and GLONASS, seem to be insufficient. Hence, all antennas will require a re-calibration of their phase center variations for the new signals to ensure the highest measurement accuracy. Currently, two absolute calibration methods are used to calibrate GNSS antennas: field calibration using a robot and calibration in an anechoic chamber. Unfortunately, differences in these methodologies also result in a disparity in the obtained antenna phase center corrections (PCC). Therefore, we analyze the differences between individual PCC obtained with these two methods, specifically for the Leica AR-25 antenna model (LEIAR25). In addition, the influence of PCC differences on the GNSS-derived position time series for 19 EUREF Permanent GNSS Network (EPN) stations was also assessed. The results show that the calibration method has a noticeable impact on PCC models. PCC differences determined for the ionosphere-free combination may reach up over 20 mm and can be transferred to the position domain. Further tests concerning the positioning accuracy showed that for horizontal coordinates differences between solutions were mostly below 1 mm, exceeding 2 mm only at two stations for the GLONASS solution. However, the height component differences exceeded 5 mm for four, six and six stations out of 19 for the GPS, GLONASS and Galileo solutions, respectively. These differences are strongly dependent on large L2 calibration differences. [Termes IGN] TurquieRésumé : (auteur) Airborne gravimetry with strapdown inertial sensors has been a valuable tool for many years to fill in the gravity data gaps on the areas not accessible by land. Accuracies of 1 mGal level with off-the-shelf navigation-grade inertial measurement units (IMU) can only be achieved provided that the accelerometer drifts mainly caused by the temperature variations inside the IMU housing are separated from the gravity signal. Although there are several strategies proposed in the literature to deal with this inseparability problem, we use a thermal stabilization system (iTempStab) added on an iNAT-RQH navigation-grade IMU and investigate its performance over a test region in central Turkey with moderate topography and highly qualified ground truth gravity data. Two test flights were performed in 2017 and 2018 with and without iTempStab add-on following almost the same flight trajectories. During the first flight in 2017 with iNAT-RQH only, which lasted almost 5.5 h, there were considerable temperature variations inside the IMU housing from 39.1 to 46.0 °C. A simple thermal correction based on a laboratory calibration done before the flight was applied to the vertical Z-accelerometer in the pre-processing stage. However, temperature changes were within 0.1 °C during the second test flight in 2018 with TempStab add-on. The temperature stabilization gained by the iTempStab add-on produced better cross-over statistics. While the RMSE of the non-adjusted cross-over residuals was about 2.6 mGal, it reduced by 50% with iTempStab add-on. The adjusted cross-over differences of the 2018 flight yielded an RMSE of about 0.5 mGal, which is a remarkable precision for the strapdown gravimetry. The comparison with upward continued ground gravity data at flight altitudes suggests that the thermal stabilization system shows also remarkable improvements in the residual statistics. The range of the residuals decreases from ± 10 to ± 5 mGal, the standard deviation decreases from 2.19 to 0.94 mGal, and the RMSE decreases from 2.24 to 1.48 mGal, respectively, with the iTempStab add-on. It can be concluded that the thermal stabilization system significantly improves the accelerometer stability and therefore the precision and accuracy of the strapdown airborne gravity estimates. [Termes IGN] pollution acoustiqueRésumé : (auteur) Sensor instability, dark currents, and other factors often cause stripe noise corruption in hyperspectral remote sensing images and severely limit their application in practical purposes. Previous studies have proposed numerous destriping algorithms that have yielded impressive results. Although most destriping algorithms are based on the premise of additive noise, a few studies have focused directly on multiplicative stripe noise. This article fully analyzes the characteristics of the stripe noise of OHS-01 images and proposes a multiplicative stripe noise removal method. Specifically, stripe noise is tackled by performing radiometric normalization of different columns in the image. First, the relative gain coefficients of adjacent columns are separated based on prior knowledge. Second, the local relative intensity correspondence of the image columns are established by means of intensity propagation, intensity connection, and so on. Finally, the above-mentioned process is iterated in multiscale space, and the accumulated gain correction coefficient maps were used to correct the radiation of the original image. The results of extensive experiments on simulated and real remote sensing image data demonstrate that the proposed method can, in most cases, yield desirable results. In certain cases, the results are even better, visually, and quantitatively, than those obtained using classical algorithms. Moreover, the proposed method has high robustness and efficiency. Thus, it can conform to the requirements of engineering applications. [Termes IGN] transmission de donnéesRésumé : (auteur) GNSSs, such as Galileo and modernized GPS, BeiDou and GLONASS systems, offer new potential and challenges in precise time and frequency transfer using multi-frequency observations. We focus on the performance of Galileo time and frequency transfer using the E1, E5a, E5b and E5 observations. Dual-frequency, triple-frequency and quad-frequency models for precise time and frequency transfer with different Galileo observations are proposed. Four time and transfer links between international time laboratories are used to assess the performances of different models in terms of time link noise level and frequency stability indicators. The average RMS values of the smoothed residuals of the clock difference series are 0.033 ns, 0.033 ns and 0.034 ns for the dual-frequency, triple-frequency and quad-frequency models with four time links, respectively. With respect to frequency stability, the average stability values at 15,360 s are 9.51 × 10−15, 9.46 × 10−15 and 9.37 × 10−15 for the dual-frequency, triple-frequency and quad-frequency models with four time links, respectively. Moreover, although biases among different models and receiver the inter-frequency exist, their characteristics are relatively stable. Generally, the dual-/triple-/quad-frequency models show similar performance for those time links, and the quad-frequency models can provide significant potential for switching among and unifying the three multi-frequency solutions, as well as further enhancing the redundancy and reliability compared to the current dual-frequency time transfer method.
