[Termes IGN] voie navigableRésumé : (Auteur) Numerous coastal and inland marine operations, including navigation in shallow constricted waterways require timeconsuming and expensive maintenance that includes frequent precise multibeam hydrographic surveys and dredging operations. In addition, environmental and safety concerns lead to the establishment of stringent regulations regarding the minimum under keel clearance for commercial shipping operations. The clearance is partly a function of the navigation channel charting accuracy and the ability to determine the instantaneous water level in real time. The use of realtime kinematic (RTK) GPS to provide a threedimensional accuracy of better than 10 cm has the potential to improve the effectiveness of channel maintenance and commercial navigation. In order for RTK GPS to yield such a high level of accuracy, carrier phase observables must be used. One of the most important limitations is the requirement for short distances between the ship and shorebased fixed reference stations. With the current GIPS capability, the distance should be kept to less than 15 to 20 km to assure a continuous service. Establishing reference stations with such a high density is timeconsuming, logistically difficult and results in high maintaining cost and operational reliability issues. In this paper a method to substantially reduce the number of reference stations is investigated through field trials conducted along the St. Lawrence Seaway, Canada, in 1998 and 1999. The proximity of the trials to a solar maximum resulted in a very high level of atmospheric activity and provided an opportunity to examine the advantages and limitations of both the conventional and multireference station RTK methods under such conditions. The results of the trials show that the new approach results in a substantial improvement of up to 60%. [Termes IGN] traitement de données GNSSIndex. décimale : 30.61 Systèmes de Positionnement par Satellites du GNSS Résumé : (Auteur) Permanent GPS reference stations produce observation corrections to be used for cm-accurate relative positioning and they establish the connection to a geodetic reference frame. In order to supply observation corrections for larger areas at minimum costs, the number of reference stations should be as small as possible, but large enough to guarantee cm-accuracy. The solution lies in the precise modeling of the distance and direction dependent errors.
Error modeling based on GPS phase data requires fixing of the carrier phase ambiguities in the network of reference stations. It could be shown, both theoretically and with real observation data, that a two-dimensional linear interpolation algorithm yields mm-accurate corrections if the reference station distances do not exceed 100 km.
However, if regional scale disturbances exist in the ionosphere or in the troposphere, larger errors can be encountered. For the application in Central Europe, it is therefore recommended to limit the reference station distances to some 50 km.
The realization of this positioning concept is performed in two steps. In the first one, the observations of the reference stations are preprocessed and separated into observation correction of one base station and correction models for the distance and direction dependent errors. In the second step, virtual observations of a reference station at a selected position are calculated. They can then be used for the positioning of a rover receiver in baseline mode using existing software.
The processing of various test data sets showed that in Central Europe and with reference station distances of some 50 km, 1cm accurate horizontal coordinates could be obtained within a few minutes. Since the distance and direction dependent errors can almost completely be corrected, the necessary observation time at a rover site is mainly a function of the rover receiver's data quality.Numéro de notice : 46139 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=58472 Réservation

[Termes IGN] traitement de données GNSSIndex. décimale : 30.42 Gravimétrie Résumé : (Auteur) The processing of GPS data is daily business for surveyors. But they often lack the basics in observables, models and algorithms of the commercial software they use, and how to value the results. To give the possibility to face, research and learn from the relating problems, a modular software package was written in MatLab 5 - an interpreting mathematical language - that enables total access to the data, program source code and run time variables and by that allows own software extensions. As a significant feature it visualizes the results graphically. Restrictions were made in data processing by considering only one baseline, of short distance, with short observation times and an expectation of centimeter accuracy. The reason for that is the primary interest in the principles of absolute and relative positioning. Phenomena, effects and algorithms concerning these techniques are comprehensively documented. Examples of typical applications illustrate the diverse aspects of data processing and emphasizes the investigations, that were performed especially for the partially new design, the implementation and the validation of the Ambiguity Function Method for carrier phase processing. The advantage of that method is its independence of cycle slips and integer ambiguities. The unknown coordinates can be determined by a search in the gridded position space. Relevant parameters are the precision of the initial coordinates, the wavelength of the observable used, the volume of the search space around the initial position and its grid distance. The derivation of the method starts from the conventional approach. For evaluating the results plausibility checks and statistical measures are introduced. The implemented approach shows reliable and repeatable results only for baseline lengths up to some kilometers and only for dual frequency data that enable the forming of linear combinations from L1 and L2 earner phase observations - the so-called laning methods. The investigations lead to the conclusion that, when using the wide lane, a pseudorange DGPS solution is sufficient as initial position. Another linear combination with poor ionospheric noise did not succeed to give really better results at long baselines although it was expected so. An approach for deleting cycle slips in double differences by fixing coordinates, resulting from an ambiguity function processing, is considered. A processing strategy is proposed and remaining problems are discussed. The publication is completed by extensive references and a documentation of the freely available software.
