[Termes IGN] processeur graphiqueRésumé : (auteur) The increased availability of high-resolution multispectral imagery captured by remote sensing platforms provides new opportunities for the characterisation and differentiation of urban context. The discovery of generalized latent representations from such data are however under researched within the social sciences. As such, this paper exploits advances in machine learning to implement a new method of capturing measures of urban context from multispectral satellite imagery at a very small area level through the application of a convolutional autoencoder (CAE). The utility of outputs from the CAE is enhanced through the application of spatial weighting, and the smoothed outputs are then summarised using cluster analysis to generate a typology comprising seven groups describing salient patterns of differentiated urban context. The limits of the technique are discussed with reference to the resolution of the satellite data utilised within the study and the interaction between the geography of the input data and the learned structure. The method is implemented within the context of Great Britain, however, is applicable to any location where similar high resolution multispectral imagery are available. [Termes IGN] synonymieRésumé : (auteur) Expansion of the entity attribute information of geographic knowledge graphs is essentially the fusion of the Internet’s encyclopedic knowledge. However, it lacks structured attribute information, and synonymy and polysemy always exist. These reduce the quality of the knowledge graph and cause incomplete and inaccurate semantic retrieval. Therefore, we normalize the attributes of a geographic knowledge graph based on optimal granularity clustering and co-occurrence analysis, and use structure and the semantic relation of the entity attributes to identify synonymy and correlation between attributes. Specifically: (1) We design a classification system for geographic attributes, that is, using a community discovery algorithm to classify the attribute names. The optimal clustering granularity is identified by the marker target detection algorithm. (2) We complete the fine-grained identification of attribute relations by analyzing co-occurrence relations of the attributes and rule inference. (3) Finally, the performance of the system is verified by manual discrimination using the case of “landscape, forest, field, lake and grass”. The results show the following: (1) The average precision of spatial relations was 0.974 and the average recall was 0.937; the average precision of data relations was 0.977 and the average recall was 0.998. (2) The average F1 for similarity results is 0.473; the average F1 for co-occurrence analysis results is 0.735; the average F1 for rule-based modification results is 0.934; the results show that the accuracy is greater than 90%. Compared to traditional methods only focusing on similarity, the accuracy of synonymous attribute recognition improves the system and we are capable of identifying near-sense attributes. Integration of our system and attribute normalization can greatly improve both the processing efficiency and accuracy. [Termes IGN] Wuhan (Chine)Résumé : (auteur) Detecting interchanges in road networks benefit many applications, such as vehicle navigation and map generalization. Traditional approaches use manually defined rules based on geometric, topological, or both properties, and thus can present challenges for structurally complex interchange. To overcome this drawback, we propose a graph-based deep learning approach for interchange detection. First, we model the road network as a graph in which the nodes represent road segments, and the edges represent their connections. The proposed approach computes the shape measures and contextual properties of individual road segments for features characterizing the associated nodes in the graph. Next, a semi-supervised approach uses these features and limited labeled interchanges to train a graph convolutional network that classifies these road segments into an interchange and non-interchange segments. Finally, an adaptive clustering approach groups the detected interchange segments into interchanges. Our experiment with the road networks of Beijing and Wuhan achieved a classification accuracy >95% at a label rate of 10%. Moreover, the interchange detection precision and recall were 79.6 and 75.7% on the Beijing dataset and 80.6 and 74.8% on the Wuhan dataset, respectively, which were 18.3–36.1 and 17.4–19.4% higher than those of the existing approaches based on characteristic node clustering. [Termes IGN] TwitterRésumé : (auteur) Social media platforms enable efficient traffic event detection by allowing users to produce geo-tagged content (e.g., tweets) known as geosocial media data. Geosocial media data improve road safety by providing timely updates for traffic flow and traffic control. Recent studies on traffic event detection with geosocial media data have been focused around keyword-based query approaches, where the event content was inferred by predetermined categories, to retrieve relevant traffic events. Spatiotemporal features associated with traffic-related posts have not been fully investigated. In this study, we filtered irrelevant posts with association rules. A spatiotemporal clustering-based method was then used to retrieve traffic events from these filtered posts, where the content of detected events was automatically inferred with a set of representative terms. For comparison, a typical text classification-based method was also used by classifying the posts filtered from association rules into different categories. By validating the detection results with vehicle travel speed data, we demonstrate that the former outperforms the latter in terms of the number of correctly detected traffic events from one-year of Twitter data in Toronto, Canada. Our proposed approach helps organizations and governments to be aware of when and where traffic events occur by identifying event hotspots and peak periods, which improves both traffic management and urban planning. [Termes IGN] TurquieRésumé : (auteur) The number of traffic fatalities continues to rise steadily throughout the world. In 2016, it reached 1.35 million. The spatiotemporal analysis makes a big contribution when used with spatial and statistical analysis together in terms of the understanding of the change. This study focuses on spatiotemporal fluctuations in traffic accident hotspots to gain useful insights into traffic safety in Turkey in 2004–2017 period. For this purpose, 372,800 accident records are arranged on a GIS platform. The areas that lack traffic safety and require more attention were determined using spatial, temporal, and empirical Bayesian analysis. Although similar results were detected with spatiotemporal and empiric Bayes analysis, spatiotemporal analysis was used to understand where traffic accidents clustering, and how the trends of traffic accidents change whether are increasing or decreasing. As a result of the analysis, an increasing trend has been found in many locations in Turkey from 2004 to 2017.
