[Termes IGN] teneur en eau de la végétationRésumé : (Auteur) Evapotranspiration (ET) is a vital process in land surface atmosphere research. In this study, Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land (SEBAL) for the assessment of ET (for 23 December 2010, 8 January 2011, 24 January 2011, 9 February 2011, 25 February 2011, 29 March 2011 and 14 April 2011) from LANDSAT7-ETM+ and validation with Lysimeter data set is illustrated. It is based on the evaporative fraction concept, and it has been applied to LANDSAT7-ETM + (30 m resolution) data acquired over the Indian Agricultural Research Institute’s agricultural farm land. The ET from SEBAL was compared with Lysimeter ET using four statistical tests (root-mean-square error (RMSE), relative root-mean-square error (R-RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and normalized root-mean square error (NRMSE)), and each test showed a good correlation between the predicted and observed ET values. Results from this study revealed that the RMSE of crop-growing period was 0.51 mm d−1 for ETSEBAL, i.e. ETSEBAL having good accuracy with respect to observed ETLysimeter. Results were also validated using R-RMSE test, which also proved that ETSEBAL data are having good accuracy with respect to observed ETLysimeter as R-RMSE of crop-growing period is 0.19 mm d−1. MAE (0.19), NRMSE (0.21) and r2 (0.91) tests indicated that model prediction is significant, and model can be effectively used for the estimation of ET from SEBAL as input of remote sensing data sets. Finally, the SEBAL has been useful for remote agricultural land where ground-based data (Lysimeter data) are not available for daily ET (ET24 h) estimation. The temporal study of the ET24 h values analysed has revealed that the highest ET24 h values are owing to the higher development (high greenness) of crops, whereas the lower values are related to the lower development (low greenness) or null crop. [Termes IGN] trajet multipleRésumé : (auteur) With the rapid development of BeiDou system (BDS) and steady progress of Galileo system, the current GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) constellations consist of GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo. The real signals from the four constellations have been available, which allows us to analyse and compare their measurement noises and multipath effects. In this study, a zero-baseline test is conducted using two ‘Trimble NetR9’ receivers to assess and compare the noises and multipath of measurements on multiple frequencies from the four satellite systems. The zero-baseline double difference approach is utilised to analyse the receiver noises. The code multipath combination and triple-frequency carrier phase combination approaches are exploited to analyse a comprehensive effect of the multipath and noises on the code and carrier phase measurements, respectively. Based on the analysis of the zero-baseline dataset, the results indicate that the code measurement noise levels range from 5 to 25 cm while the carrier phase noise levels vary within 0.9–1.5 mm for different frequencies and constellations. The code multipath and noise (CMN) level for GLONASS is the largest with a root mean square (RMS) value of 39 cm on both G1 and G2 frequencies whereas the Galileo code measurements exhibit a smallest level on the E5 frequency with a RMS value of only 10 cm. The RMS of the carrier phase multipath and noises (PMN) ranges from 1.3 to 2.6 mm for BeiDou and Galileo satellites. By contrast, the triple-frequency carrier phase combinations from the GPS Block IIF satellites demonstrate a much larger RMS value of 5.6 mm owing to an effect of inter-frequency clock biases. [Termes IGN] Triangulated Irregular NetworkRésumé : (auteur) Filtering of light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data into the ground and non-ground points is a fundamental step in processing raw airborne LiDAR data. This paper proposes an improved progressive triangulated irregular network (TIN) densification (IPTD) filtering algorithm that can cope with a variety of forested landscapes, particularly both topographically and environmentally complex regions. The IPTD filtering algorithm consists of three steps: (1) acquiring potential ground seed points using the morphological method; (2) obtaining accurate ground seed points; and (3) building a TIN-based model and iteratively densifying TIN. The IPTD filtering algorithm was tested in 15 forested sites with various terrains (i.e., elevation and slope) and vegetation conditions (i.e., canopy cover and tree height), and was compared with seven other commonly used filtering algorithms (including morphology-based, slope-based, and interpolation-based filtering algorithms). Results show that the IPTD achieves the highest filtering accuracy for nine of the 15 sites. In general, it outperforms the other filtering algorithms, yielding the lowest average total error of 3.15% and the highest average kappa coefficient of 89.53%. [Termes IGN] zone saillante 3DRésumé : (auteur) Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) systems have gained increasing popularity in the forestry domain and are today widely used for the automatic measurement of forest inventory attributes. Nevertheless, to the best of our knowledge the problem of tree species recognition from TLS data has received very little attention from the scientific community. It is in this context that we present a novel Computer-Aided Tree Species Identification method based on 3D bark texture analysis. The novelty of our approach resides in the following three key points: (1) 3D salient regions extraction using a new morphological segmentation method that we have called Burst Wind Segmentation, (2) the extraction and pre-annotation of a collection of typical 3D bark patterns, known as scars, from each of the tree species. The pre-annotated scars are stored in a dictionary that we have called ScarBook and they are used as a reference for the comparison of the 3D salient segmented regions, (3) a wide variety of advanced shape, saliency, curvature and roughness features are extracted from the 3D salient segmented regions. To study the performance of our method, an experiment has been carried out on a dataset composed of 969 patches which correspond to 30 cm long segments of the trunk at breast height. Six species among the most dominant species in European forests have been tested with patches of different diameter at breast height values so as to study the identification accuracy with respect to age. The results obtained are very encouraging and promising and they confirm the possibility of identifying tree species using TLS data. [Termes IGN] prospection minéraleRésumé : (Auteur) High-resolution EIGEN6C4 and EGM2008 Bouguer gravity data of 2190 degree spherical harmonic over the Singhbhum-Orissa Craton, India, have been generated from the International Centre for Global Earth Models. The Bouguer gravity anomaly difference maps of (i) in situ and EIGEN6C4, (ii) in situ and EGM2008 and iii) EIGEN6C4 and EGM2008 of the study area are compared. It reveals that EIGEN6C4 has lesser systematic error than EGM2008. However, from different profile plots of Bouguer gravity, east–west horizontal derivative and north–south horizontal derivative anomalies of the in situ, EIGEN6C4 and EGM2008, it is observed that most of the signatures of lithounits and geological structural elements are delineated very well by EGM2008 and match 94–98% with those of EIGEN6C4. Further, the Bouguer gravity, east–west horizontal derivative and north–south horizontal derivative anomalies of EGM2008 data over the study area have been used effectively for identifying various lithounits and geological structural elements.
