[Termes IGN] télémétrie laser aéroportéRésumé : (Auteur) At the dynamic coastal fringe, numerous processes interact with local morphology. In soft-cliff environments, this can often lead to the occurrence of coastal geohazards. These can pose a major threat to property and cultural heritage, and an effective monitoring strategy is therefore essential. While contemporary monitoring techniques have been applied, these are often unsuitable in isolation. This paper presents an integrated approach, with the development of weighted surface matching software enabling reliable dataset fusion and multi-temporal change detection, even where significant surface differences exist. Evaluation of this approach is presented and discussed. [Termes IGN] Ordnance Survey of Great BritainRésumé : (Auteur) Geographic information (GI) is used more widely than ever before. Ordnance Survey’s Research Labs uses foresight, a process spanning from scenario planning to ongoing user research, to ensure Great Britain’s national mapping agency’s innovation, creativity, design, prototyping and imagination continue to meet the challenges the future poses. The key is to understand what opportunities this presents for Ordnance Survey (OS), its partners and how this data will be captured, managed, traded and used. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) The Algerian steppe has become for a few years the theatre of an ecological and climatic imbalance. The intense degradation for this fragile medium (stranding wind erosion, overgrazing, clearing, salinisation, ...) inducing the turning into a desertification require a better comprehension in order to see how to fight against this plague and to adapt an adequate installation to him. Thus, this work lies within the scope of the follow-up of the phenomenon of the turning into a desertification on a space with the heart of the high Oranian southern steppe plains, in fact the area of Mecheria. Techniques of numerical cartography, since the satellite image processing until the geographic information systems (SIG) for the realization of the charts sets of themes, being able to highlight this calamity. The use of the approaches based on the exploitation of the satellite data multi dates (1998 & 2004) of the sensor Thematic Mapper (TM) of Landsat 5 permitted us to obtain a gathering of an interpretative photo maps and vegetation index which, in their turn, helped us to see the changes arrived in the medium, copiously regressive that progressive. [Termes IGN] modèle numérique de terrainRésumé : (auteur) Updating 2D databases has become a crucial issue in most mapping agencies. Such a work traditionally starts out with a change detection phase. A subsequent update phase is then carried out to register changes in the up-to-date database. The first phase is by far the most costly and plodding, as it has until now required field or visual inspection (of orthophotos). The main goal of this paper is to present a new method for detecting changes in the building layer of a 2D cadastral database. This method aims at giving potential changes to a human operator for subsequent validation and update registration. In this paper, we propose a new workflow for the change detection process, by splitting it into 2 separate steps. The first step consists in verifying automatically buildings through a hypothesizeand verify process: the initial description of the database is used to guide the change detection process. The second step consists in extracting new buildings from geometric considerations. In this paper, the method is tested and assessed in a densely built-up area. A specific methodology is firstly employed to estimate the best parameters to use in the system and also to characterise its performance. Results are secondly assessed and show the high potential of our system in such a context. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (Auteur) A new method is illustrated for describing the characteristics of urban pattern changes over different time periods. This method employs vector geometry, paired centroids, shared boundary lines, and overlain polygons. Three new statistics are proposed for characterizing local polygon feature changes in quantity, shape, and size. These statistics are standardized, based on conventional theories from urban geography such as directional concentric zones and user-designated corridors to document both regional and global patterns of land-use change. This method is used to analyse land-use changes in metropolitan Detroit between 1990 and 2000. The Detroit case study indicates that the CTSPA statistics are effective in describing urban spatial pattern changes and in characterizing the evolution of discrete urban landscapes over selected periods.
