[Termes IGN] sonarRésumé : (Auteur) Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) is a sensor that was designed for hydrographic survey of the seabed. It detects small targets, enabling high geometric resolution images. However, the images generated by SAS are susceptible to speckle noise, which makes digital processing difficult, since the noises are confused with the targets of interest. The goal of this study was to develop a semi-automatic routine for SAS image processing to verify the structural integrity of submarine pipelines. The method presented incorporates four stages: pre-processing to reduce noise and highlight the targets of interest; extraction of features aiming to recognize features related to the pipelines; post-processing to reduce the fragmentation generated during feature extraction; validation to quantify the results from the reference images to estimate the performance of the proposed methodology. The results showed that more than 80% of the submarine pipelines were mapped in the semi-automatic mode, which considerably reduced the time needed to manually identify a large number of pipelines operating on offshore oilfields. [Termes IGN] voisinage (relation topologique)Résumé : (auteur) Vector-based cellular automata (VCA) models have been applied in land use change simulations at fine scales. However, the neighborhood effects of the driving factors are rarely considered in the exploration of the transition suitability of cells, leading to lower simulation accuracy. This study proposes a convolutional neural network (CNN)-VCA model that adopts the CNN to extract the high-level features of the driving factors within a neighborhood of an irregularly shaped cell and discover the relationships between multiple land use changes and driving factors at the neighborhood level. The proposed model was applied to simulate urban land use changes in Shenzhen, China. Compared with several VCA models using other machine learning methods, the proposed CNN-VCA model obtained the highest simulation accuracy (figure-of-merit = 0.361). The results indicated that the CNN-VCA model can effectively uncover the neighborhood effects of multiple driving factors on the developmental potential of land parcels and obtain more details on the morphological characteristics of land parcels. Moreover, the land use patterns of 2020 and 2025 under an ecological control strategy were simulated to provide decision support for urban planning. [Termes IGN] viticultureRésumé : (auteur) The extraction of phenotypic traits is often very time and labour intensive. Especially the investigation in viticulture is restricted to an on-site analysis due to the perennial nature of grapevine. Traditionally skilled experts examine small samples and extrapolate the results to a whole plot. Thereby different grapevine varieties and training systems, e.g. vertical shoot positioning (VSP) and semi minimal pruned hedges (SMPH) pose different challenges.
In this paper we present an objective framework based on automatic image analysis which works on two different training systems. The images are collected semi automatic by a camera system which is installed in a modified grape harvester. The system produces overlapping images from the sides of the plants. Our framework uses a convolutional neural network to detect single berries in images by performing a semantic segmentation. Each berry is then counted with a connected component algorithm. We compare our results with the Mask-RCNN, a state-of-the-art network for instance segmentation and with a regression approach for counting. The experiments presented in this paper show that we are able to detect green berries in images despite of different training systems. We achieve an accuracy for the berry detection of 94.0% in the VSP and 85.6% in the SMPH.Numéro de notice : A2020-252 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1016/j.isprsjprs.2020.04.002 Date de publication en ligne : 22/04/2020 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1016/j.isprsjprs.2020.04.002 Format de la ressource électronique : url article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=94996

[Termes IGN] vision par ordinateurRésumé : (auteur) As people grow accustomed to effortless outdoor navigation, there is a rising demand for similar possibilities indoors as well. Unfortunately, indoor localization, being one of the requirements for navigation, continues to be a problem without a clear solution. In this article, we are proposing a method for an indoor positioning system using a single image. This is made possible using a small preprocessed database of images with known control points as the only preprocessing needed. Using feature detection with the SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) algorithm, we can look through the database and find an image that is the most similar to the image taken by a user. Such a pair of images is then used to find coordinates of a database of images using the PnP problem. Furthermore, projection and essential matrices are determined to calculate the user image localization—determining the position of the user in the indoor environment. The benefits of this approach lie in the single image being the only input from a user and the lack of requirements for new onsite infrastructure. Thus, our approach enables a more straightforward realization for building management. [Termes IGN] segmentation d'imageRésumé : (auteur) The WorldView-2 high spatial resolution satellite with eight multispectral imaging bands is ideally suited for extracting built-up areas (BUs) from remote sensing images. In this study, an object-based automatic multi-index BUs extraction method was developed. First, several indices, including BUs extraction index (NBEIr-c), vegetation extraction index(NDVInir2-r) and water extraction index (NDWI b-nir1), were developed to obtain the BUs, vegetation and water maps, and then the fractional-order Darwinian particle swarm optimization (FODPSO) algorithm was employed to automatically segment the multi-index images and obtained BUs, water, vegetation and bare soil (BS) information. Finally, the extracted BUs results were optimized via an object-based analysis method and the results were compared with those of two other relevant indices, which confirmed the proposed method had a higher accuracy and exhibited higher performance when separating the BS from the BUs.
