[Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (Auteur) A proper characterization of land-use types is critical for constructing generalization constraints to guide and control landuse data generalization. This paper focused on identification and utilization of their importance based upon land-use distributions and application themes. First, this importance was identified using a three-step method that links a diversity index, a multiple attribute decision model and a spatial association analysis. Second, with the importance, a mathematical function was designed to determine minimum area thresholds of land-use polygons as an example of generalization constraints. Third, the importance was used to assist in the selection of generalization operators and evaluation of generalization outcomes. Fourth, a land-use dataset at 1:10 000, describing the land use of a typical rural area in Hubei province of China, was generalized towards a 1:50 000 dataset to verify the effects of the presented method and function. Three additional tests were implemented to analyze the sensitivity of the importance of land-use types on setting the minimum area threshold and generalization operations. The outcome showed that the proposed methods and functions make land-use data generalization more adaptable for in-use datasets and applications. [Termes IGN] zone d'intérêtRésumé : (auteur) In this study, we propose a novel region-line primitive association framework (RLPAF) for OBIA. In this framework, segments (region primitive) and straight lines (line primitive) are obtained by image segmentation and straight line detection, respectively, before their corresponding intra-primitive features are extracted. An association model is built on inter-primitive topology and direction relationships. Several region-line collaborative features are also derived. Image analysis is then performed based on both region and line primitives. The advantage of RLPAF is the collaborative utilization of complementary information between regions and lines throughout the entire OBIA process: from image segmentation, to feature extraction, and finally, object recognition. To validate this framework, RLPAF is applied on road network extraction from high spatial resolution (HSR) remote sensing images. Experiments show that the proposed framework and methods refine primitive shape and spatial relationship analyses, as well as obtain higher method accuracy, than OBIAs based on only regions. [Termes IGN] zone d'intérêtRésumé : (auteur) Image mosaicking is a process during which multiple orthoimages are combined into a single seamless composite orthoimage. One of the most difficult steps in the automatic mosaicking of orthoimages is the seamline determination. This paper presents a novel algorithm that selects seamlines based on marker-based watershed segmentation. A representative seamline is extracted at the object level and the pixel level as follows. First, a watershed segmentation is performed to obtain the objects. To avoid over-segmentation, a regional adaptive marker-based watershed segmentation is proposed. Second, the object difference estimated by the correlation coefficient of each object is calculated, and the region adjacency matrix is built. Third, a technique for minimizing the maximum object cost is adopted to determine the objects through which the seamlines pass. Finally, pixel-level optimization is performed using Dijkstra's algorithm with a binary min-heap to determine the final seamlines. The experimental results on digital aerial orthoimages in different areas demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method compared with other algorithms. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Mosaicking is a key step in the production of digital orthophoto maps (DOMs), especially for large-scale urban orthophotos. During this step, manual intervention is commonly involved to avoid the case where the seamline crosses obvious objects (e.g., buildings), which causes geometric discontinuities on the DOMs. How to guide the seamline to avoid crossing obvious objects has become a popular topic in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing. Thus, a new semi-global matching (SGM)-based method to guide seamline determination is proposed for urban orthophoto mosaicking in this study, which can greatly eliminate geometric discontinuities. The approximate epipolar geometry of the orthophoto pairs is first derived and proven, and the approximate epipolar image pair is then generated by rotating the two orthorectified images according to the parallax direction. A SGM algorithm is applied to their overlaps to obtain the corresponding pixel-wise disparity. According to a predefined disparity threshold, the overlap area is identified as the obstacle and non-obstacle areas. For the non-obstacle regions, Hilditch thinning algorithm is used to obtain the skeleton line, followed by Dijkstra’s algorithm to search for the optimal path on the skeleton network as the seamline between two orthophotos. A whole seamline network is constructed based on the strip information recorded in flight. In the experimental section, the approximate epipolar geometric theory of the orthophoto is first analyzed and verified, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is then validated by comparing its results with the results of the geometry-based, OrthoVista, and orthoimage elevation synchronous model (OESM)-based methods. Taking a strictly elementary perspective, the book only covers topics that involve simple mathematics yet offer a very broad and deep introduction to the discipline. This second edition provides users with three different computing options. Along with MATLAB®, this edition now includes GNU Octave and Python. Users can choose the best software to fit their needs or migrate from one system to another. Programs are written as modular as possible, allowing for greater flexibility, code reuse, and conciseness. This edition also contains new images, redrawn diagrams, and new discussions of edge-preserving blurring filters, ISODATA thresholding, Radon transform, corner detection, retinex algorithm, LZW compression, and other topics. Based on the author’s successful image processing courses, this bestseller is suitable for classroom use or self-study. In a straightforward way, the text illustrates how to implement imaging techniques in MATLAB, GNU Octave, and Python. It includes numerous examples and exercises to give students hands-on practice with the material. Note de contenu :
