[Termes IGN] détection de changementRésumé : (Auteur) With the application requirement, the technique for change detection based on heterogeneous remote sensing images is paid more attention. However, detecting changes between two heterogeneous images is challenging as they cannot be compared in low-dimensional space. In this paper, we construct an approximately symmetric deep neural network with two sides containing the same number of coupled layers to transform the two images into the same feature space. The two images are connected with the two sides and transformed into the same feature space, in which their features are more discriminative and the difference image can be generated by comparing paired features pixel by pixel. The network is first built by stacked restricted Boltzmann machines, and then, the parameters are updated in a special way based on clustering. The special way, motivated by that two heterogeneous images share the same reality in unchanged areas and retain respective properties in changed areas, shrinks the distance between paired features transformed from unchanged positions, and enlarges the distance between paired features extracted from changed positions. It is achieved through introducing two types of labels and updating parameters by adaptively changed learning rate. This is different from the existing methods based on deep learning that just do operations on positions predicted to be unchanged and extract only one type of labels. The whole process is completely unsupervised without any priori knowledge. Besides, the method can also be applied to homogeneous images. We test our method on heterogeneous images and homogeneous images. The proposed method achieves quite high accuracy. [Termes IGN] variation saisonnièreRésumé : (auteur) The dedicated gravity satellite missions, in particular the GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment) mission launched in 2002, provide unique data for studying temporal variations of mass distribution in the Earth’s system, and thereby, the geometry and the gravity field changes of the Earth. The main objective of this contribution is to estimate physical height (e.g. the orthometric/normal height) changes over Central Europe using GRACE satellite mission data as well as to analyse them and model over the selected study area. Physical height changes were estimated from temporal variations of height anomalies and vertical displacements of the Earth surface being determined over the investigated area. The release 5 (RL05) GRACE-based global geopotential models as well as load Love numbers from the Preliminary Reference Earth Model (PREM) were used as input data. Analysis of the estimated physical height changes and their modelling were performed using two methods: the seasonal decomposition method and the PCA/ EOF (Principal Component Analysis/Empirical Orthogonal Function) method and the differences obtained were discussed. The main findings reveal that physical height changes over the selected study area reach up to 22.8 mm. The obtained physical height changes can be modelled with an accuracy of 1.4 mm using the seasonal decomposition method. [Termes IGN] TrenteRésumé : (Auteur) The availability of diverse data captured over the same region makes it possible to develop multisensor data fusion techniques to further improve the discrimination ability of classifiers. In this paper, a new sparse and low-rank technique is proposed for the fusion of hyperspectral and light detection and ranging (LiDAR)-derived features. The proposed fusion technique consists of two main steps. First, extinction profiles are used to extract spatial and elevation information from hyperspectral and LiDAR data, respectively. Then, the sparse and low-rank technique is utilized to estimate the low-rank fused features from the extracted ones that are eventually used to produce a final classification map. The proposed approach is evaluated over an urban data set captured over Houston, USA, and a rural one captured over Trento, Italy. Experimental results confirm that the proposed fusion technique outperforms the other techniques used in the experiments based on the classification accuracies obtained by random forest and support vector machine classifiers. Moreover, the proposed approach can effectively classify joint LiDAR and hyperspectral data in an ill-posed situation when only a limited number of training samples are available. [Termes IGN] savaneRésumé : (Auteur) The application of remote sensing in biodiversity estimation has largely relied on the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). The NDVI exploits spectral information from red and near infrared bands of Landsat images and it does not consider canopy background conditions hence it is affected by soil brightness which lowers its sensitivity to vegetation. As such NDVI may be insufficient in explaining tree species diversity. Meanwhile, the Landsat program also collects essential spectral information in the shortwave infrared (SWIR) region which is related to plant properties. The study was intended to: (i) explore the utility of spectral information across Landsat-8 spectrum using the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and estimate alpha diversity (α-diversity) in the savannah woodland in southern Africa, and (ii) define the species diversity index (Shannon (H′), Simpson (D2) and species richness (S) – defined as number of species in a community) that best relates to spectral variability on the Landsat-8 Operational Land Imager dataset. We designed 90 m × 90 m field plots (n = 71) and identified all trees with a diameter at breast height (DbH) above 10 cm. H′, D2 and S were used to quantify tree species diversity within each plot and the corresponding spectral information on all Landsat-8 bands were extracted from each field plot. A stepwise linear regression was applied to determine the relationship between species diversity indices (H′, D2 and S) and Principal Components (PCs), vegetation indices and Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) texture layers with calibration (n = 46) and test (n = 23) datasets. The results of regression analysis showed that the Simple Ratio Index derivative had a higher relationship with H′, D2 and S (r2 = 0.36; r2 = 0.41; r2 = 0.24 respectively) compared to NDVI, EVI, SAVI or their derivatives. Moreover the Landsat-8 derived PCs also had a higher relationship with H′ and D2 (r2 of 0.36 and 0.35 respectively) than the frequently used NDVI, and this was attributed to the utilization of the entire spectral content of Landsat-8 data. Our results indicate that: (i) the measurement scales of vegetation indices impact their sensitivity to vegetation characteristics and their ability to explain tree species diversity; (ii) principal components enhance the utility of Landsat-8 spectral data for estimating tree species diversity and (iii) species diversity indices that consider both species richness and abundance (H′ and D2) relates better with Landsat-8 spectral variables. [Termes IGN] vision par ordinateurRésumé : (auteur) Images with large-area repetitive texture, significant viewpoint, and illumination changes as well as occlusions often induce high-percentage keypoint mismatches, affecting the performance of vision-based mapping and navigation. Traditional methods for mismatch elimination tend to fail when the percentage of mismatches is high. In order to remove mismatches effectively, a new geometry-based approach is proposed in this paper, where Geometric Correspondence Feature (GCF) is used to represent the tentative correspondence. Based on the clustering property of GCFs from correct matches, a new clustering algorithm is developed to identify the cluster formed by the correct matches.
With the defined quality factor calculated from the identified cluster, a Progressive Sample Consensus (PROSAC) process integrated with hyperplane-model is employed to further eliminate mismatches. Extensive experiments based on both simulated and real images in indoor and outdoor environments have demonstrated that the proposed approach can significantly improve the performance of mismatch elimination in the presence of high-percentage mismatches.Numéro de notice : A2017-690 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE/INFORMATIQUE Nature : Article DOI : 10.14358/PERS.83.10.693 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.14358/PERS.83.10.693 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=87856
