[Termes IGN] point d'intérêtRésumé : (Auteur) Much research has been conducted on the use of sketch maps to search in spatial databases, nevertheless, they have faced challenges, such as modeling of the data abstraction level, aggregated features in sketches, modeling of semantic aspects of data, data redundancy, and evaluation of the results. Considering these challenges, in this article a new solution is presented for searching in databases based on data matching. The main difference between this solution and the other approaches lies in the parameters introduced to match data and how to solve the matching problem. Using geometrical, topological, and semantic parameters in the matching, as well as performing the matching process in the two phases of partial and global, has resulted in an of about 78%. The evaluation process is performed based on the matching parameters and the matching procedure; finally, the result is acceptable compared to previous implementations. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) We introduce an approach for updating older tree inventories with geographic coordinates using street-level panorama images and a global optimization framework for tree instance matching. Geolocations of trees in inventories until the early 2000s where recorded using street addresses whereas newer inventories use GPS. Our method retrofits older inventories with geographic coordinates to allow connecting them with newer inventories to facilitate long-term studies on tree mortality etc. What makes this problem challenging is the different number of trees per street address, the heterogeneous appearance of different tree instances in the images, ambiguous tree positions if viewed from multiple images and occlusions. To solve this assignment problem, we (i) detect trees in Google street-view panoramas using deep learning, (ii) combine multi-view detections per tree into a single representation, (iii) and match detected trees with given trees per street address with a global optimization approach. Experiments for trees in 5 cities in California, USA, show that we are able to assign geographic coordinates to 38% of the street trees, which is a good starting point for long-term studies on the ecosystem services value of street trees at large scale. [Termes IGN] pollution acoustiqueRésumé : (auteur) Sensor instability, dark currents, and other factors often cause stripe noise corruption in hyperspectral remote sensing images and severely limit their application in practical purposes. Previous studies have proposed numerous destriping algorithms that have yielded impressive results. Although most destriping algorithms are based on the premise of additive noise, a few studies have focused directly on multiplicative stripe noise. This article fully analyzes the characteristics of the stripe noise of OHS-01 images and proposes a multiplicative stripe noise removal method. Specifically, stripe noise is tackled by performing radiometric normalization of different columns in the image. First, the relative gain coefficients of adjacent columns are separated based on prior knowledge. Second, the local relative intensity correspondence of the image columns are established by means of intensity propagation, intensity connection, and so on. Finally, the above-mentioned process is iterated in multiscale space, and the accumulated gain correction coefficient maps were used to correct the radiation of the original image. The results of extensive experiments on simulated and real remote sensing image data demonstrate that the proposed method can, in most cases, yield desirable results. In certain cases, the results are even better, visually, and quantitatively, than those obtained using classical algorithms. Moreover, the proposed method has high robustness and efficiency. Thus, it can conform to the requirements of engineering applications. [Termes IGN] structure-from-motionRésumé : (Auteur) The primary contribution of this paper is an efficient match pair selection method for oblique unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) images. First, high overlap degrees and spatial resolutions cause image and feature redundancies in vocabulary tree building and image indexing. To cope with this issue, an image selection strategy and a feature selection strategy are designed to decrease the total number of features. Second, by analysing the distribution of the similarity scores, an adaptive threshold selection method is implemented to determine the number of candidate match pairs for each query image, and it avoids the disadvantages of the fixed number and fixed proportion methods. Then, an algorithm, termed AVT-Expansion, is proposed for the match pair selection and simplification where the initial match pairs are first selected by using the adaptive vocabulary tree (AVT). To simplify the initial match pairs, the AVT method is integrated with our previous MST-Expansion algorithm, which is used to extract a match graph by analysing the image topological connection network. Finally, the proposed method is verified using three UAV datasets captured with different oblique multi-camera systems. Experimental results demonstrate that the efficiency of the vocabulary tree building is improved, with speed-up ratios ranging from 14 to 16, and that high image retrieval precision values are obtained for the three datasets. For match pair selection of oblique UAV images, the proposed method is an efficient solution. [Termes IGN] zone tamponRésumé : (auteur) OpenStreetMap (OSM) provides free source data for land use and land cover (LULC) mapping of many regions globally. Earlier work has used just manual and subjective approaches to establish correspondence between paired OSM and reference datasets, an essential step for LULC mapping. This study proposes an approach to establish correspondence via three steps: (1) convert line feature(s) into polygon feature(s); (2) merge multiple polygon feature(s) into a single layer; and (3) establish correspondence and reclassify OSM and/or reference datasets. Study areas in Sheffield, London, Rome, and Paris were used for testing, and two measures (overall accuracy, OA and kappa index) were used for evaluation. Experiments were designed to verify this approach, with each pair of OSM and reference datasets initially compared after reclassification. Correspondence from one study area was then applied to another for further validation. Results show that OA was between 70 and 90% and the kappa index varied between 0.6 and 0.8. Evaluation also indicates that the correspondence obtained from one study area is applicable to another, and we illustrate the effectiveness of this approach.
